Just finished reading The Outer Banks House by Diann Ducharme; couldn't wait to google the outer banks even tho the book had a map (great idea as I kept looking back at it). Re: Blown Away (8:14pm June 6, 2010):

I have a very thick book I have to read and do a review. that seems to have halted my actions. I just keep staring at it. One of these days!!!!

Re: Blown Away (1:52pm May 31, 2010):

I have to figure out a new system as i have several shelves of books (some double shelved) and I don't know what I have. I have been collecting for the last years and have just retired, so i need to see what I have and then what I need to fill in. So I am being careful and reading only singles now. Just to figure out where to put them or do I enter them in the computer ????what to do????

Re: Silent Truth (6:42pm May 17, 2010):

what fun that would be. Now that I am retired i will have to look into that:)

Re: A Thread So Thin (6:40pm May 17, 2010):

I agree with the ladies that talk to themselves. That might raise some eyebrows to my children if i say i am not talking to myself--just to my imaginary friend. thank goodness for our book friends

Re: Small Change (9:37pm May 15, 2010):

sometimes just talking to a friend cheers you up even if they don't know you needed it. Cannot be replaced!!

Re: Silent Truth (12:52pm May 15, 2010):

This book sounds really good. I love the TV show IN PLAIN SIGHT and have thought what a huge decision to make.

I had not thought about reading YA books; but I am glad you mentioned it. It is something I will check out. thanks:)

Re: Live To Tell (11:09pm May 10, 2010):

I have ended up making my family holiday plans WAY after the holidays; as it would be someone canceling or coming late, etc., etc. Even then, something will manage to come up for someone:(

Re: Sex Drive (10:55pm May 10, 2010):

I agree that something that touches you( either heart or mind) is worth reading, whether it is a novel or just the page and 1/2 story. Nothing worse then spending time reading something and syaing, well, I'll never get those minutes back!! I am a basket case when Extreme Home Makeover just comes on!!!

Re: Touching Darkness (8:05pm May 5, 2010):

I just retired a few months ago after working as a coder in Medical Records in a hospital. I had always loved my job but the last year or so, so many new Medicare regulations that keeping changing and now there is going to be a whole new coding system. Am glad I don't have to learn that--too old to learn new stuff that is not fun anymore

Re: In Shelter Cove (5:00pm May 4, 2010):

I agree with Colleen, I like a variety too; that's what makes reading fun. Every book a new adventure. It's neat when the unexpected one becomes the hero

Re: Think Twice (11:08pm May 2, 2010):

I have not done much reading this month, finished ONE GOOD DOG by Susan Wilson which was excellent. I have jotted down a few titles noted here for my next shopping trip. I do have a couple of Karen Kay and Debra Webb set out to start any day now.

Re: Blood Of The Demon (10:24pm May 1, 2010):

I guess I am in agreement with most of you; if you don't like something or tire of it, go to something else. There is so much diversity out there, that you just go onto something else and maybe you will come back --or maybe not. But gee--don't get upset. life is too short and there are so many books------

Re: A Thread So Thin (1:31am April 28, 2010):

Now that I am retired, there are many things that would have made things easier for me. But I love my family so, i would not want to lose them--so i guess it's do it all the same.

Re: The Teaberry Strangler (10:14pm April 25, 2010):

I am like Elaine and love to enter these contests; it has introduced me to many good authors. I also have a gift card at our local book store to redeem and am planning to look for more books of the authors I have already met.

Re: Silent Truth (3:37pm April 19, 2010):

I just recently retired and right now I am just passionate about staying home, catching up on books and movies, and the grandkids, etc, etc.

Re: Building Iphone Apps With Html, CSS, And Javascript (6:58pm April 17, 2010):

I agree with the ladies; if I cannot get into a book in the first or second chapter, it goes back on the shelf for a later date. I never pass it onto the DILs until I have READ it all--whenever that might be. who knows when it will just be the right fit.

Re: The Firefighter's Secret Baby (12:39pm April 17, 2010):

Sounds like an excellent book; cannot wait to read it.

Re: Dead Head (8:58am April 14, 2010):

Your book sounds great. I was just thinking the other day as someone walked past my house that I had no idea who they were or if they even lived near here. Sad, isn't it:( Your contest prize is unique

Re: Big Bad Wolf (9:40am April 11, 2010):

wow, I have 2 books here that I think are part of a series so I am going to have to check them out better before I get into them. I might just want to hold off and go onto something else until I find the first books. I am like you all, I hate having to reread and reread trying to figure out who a character is. Glad I read your blog!!

Re: Lake Magic (9:48am March 3, 2010):

I was so caught up in the olympics this year too. I just retired and now had the time to watch much of the events. I also have shelves of books waiting to be read, now that I have the time. I cannot wait.

Re: Island Of The Swans (12:47pm February 8, 2010):

I am newly retired (4 weeks!) and am just getting back into the reading game. have always loved historical fiction
