Romance Suspense
Welcome to Adams Grove…where wrongs are righted with just
desserts. Luck abandoned Brooke Justice during her nasty divorce.
Desperate to escape her malicious ex-husband, she relocated
to the small town of Adams Grove, Virginia. When someone
breaks into her new house, she suspects her ex bears the
blame for the crime. With no evidence and little help from
the police, she asks a private investigator to take her case
—a private investigator whose sexy broad shoulders and
stunning blue eyes make her question her decision to swear
off relationships forever. Mike Hartman fled Adams Grove when a devastating loss
left his heart in pieces. After years overseas in the
military, he’s finally returned home, determined to start
anew as a private investigator. Then Brooke walks into his
office, awakening something he hasn’t felt in years. Can
they both move on…into each other’s arms? Or will the pain
of the past—and the dangerous threat lurking in the present—
destroy their new beginning?

Re: Mint Juleps and Justice
i would choose a alpha love the alpha men (Denise Smith 12:23pm February 22, 2014)
So sorry to hear of the loss of your husband. You can keep his memories alive through the strong romantic male heroes in your novels. I prefer the strong alpha hero with a romantic streak. (Rachel Kerrinski 1:10am February 22, 2014)
What a hard loss for you. So sorry. I also prefer the strong alpha hero with a good sense of humor and humility to go along with kindness. (Lisa Hutson 6:32am February 22, 2014)
I'm so sorry for your loss... I bet he's smiling at the characters you're making him into in your books!
I like alpha heroes with a good heart, which is sometimes buried until the heroine unearths it... (Linda Townsend 7:23am February 22, 2014)
Sorry about your loss. I would choose a combo - more of a beta with the alpha coming out when needed. (Pam Howell 8:24am February 22, 2014)
Definitely a strong alpha man!! So sorry about your loss. (Bonnie Capuano 9:00am February 22, 2014)
I enjoyed reading your posting today, and when I got to the part about your Husband, my heart just dropped!! Saying how sorry I am for your loss are only words, but they come from deep in my heart. It takes a strong Woman to go on and continue with your post, in the face of adversity, and I commend you for it. I don't know if I could do so so soon. As for your Hero, I agree with you that I prefer one who is a little of both. He should be strong, but know when to back down and be on the soft side. The cover to your latest book is so enchanting, and I'm sure what's on the inside will be even more wonderful!! Congratulations!! (Peggy Roberson 9:04am February 22, 2014)
Your heartwarming post was beautiful. What a loss and how to continue on in life. Your husband was a hero for sure. How fortunate to have been together. Your brave and courageous. Wishing you much happiness and enjoyment. (Sharon Berger 10:48am February 22, 2014)
What a wonderful way to have great memories of your loved one , by putting a bit of him in your world today. (Barbara Wells 10:54am February 22, 2014)
I am so terribly sorry about your husband's death, and can only wish you a good mourning, with the right companionship on it. Mourning being one of the best and hardest gifts we have, as humans.
As for heroes, what I really like are complex but straightforward-- or wanting to be straightforward-- people with interests in life. (Mary Ann Dimand 12:15pm February 22, 2014)
I like the variety in heroes... so many different people and personalities that can come to life in books! (Colleen Conklin 1:11pm February 22, 2014)
Hugs to you, Nancy. I prefer betas with alpha moments. A sensitive charmer is hard to resist, especially when he suddenly turns out surly and protective. (Terri Osburn 1:33pm February 22, 2014)
I would love to live in Adams Grove and spend my days in the country eating Chocolate Pecan Pie...unless I became a Victim or a Suspect!!!! (Brenda Parker 2:35pm February 22, 2014)
Nancy, I want to hug you during your grief and let you know that my mother also passed away last week (on Feb. 16) from cancer, and I know it's hard to lose a loved one, even more so, your companion in life. I hope your writing and contact with people gets you through this by keeping busy. I enjoy both types of heroes in books I read, and just the mention of pecan pie...is making me very hungry (esp. since I never ate today--to go get my taxes done)! I want to read all your books, and they do sound like great stories worth reading!! (Linda Luinstra 4:29pm February 22, 2014)
I prefer Alpha but at the same time Beta also have those qualities like the alpha. The way I look at it is that beta are like alpha's right hand man. (Kai Wong 4:56pm February 22, 2014)
Thank you, Nancy. No contest here; I prefer beta heroes. I go for good guys in both real life and fiction. And they're much harder to find in the latter than in the former.
Good luck with the release of "Mint Juleps and Justice"! (Mary Anne Landers 5:06pm February 22, 2014)
Please enter me to win, alpha male or beta male, it doesn't matter in the long run, right? (Susan Coster 5:44pm February 22, 2014)
I'm very sorry for your loss.
I prefer an alpha male. (Rita Wray 6:46pm February 22, 2014)
So sorry to hear about your loss. I LOVE A COMBINATION OF ALPHA AND BETA HERO. (Carol Woodruff 7:10pm February 22, 2014)
deepest sympathy on your loss; I'd prefer mostly an alpha male (Barbara Studer 7:40pm February 22, 2014)
I'm sorry to hear about your husband.
I like an in between of an alpha and a beta. Can't go wrong. (Ashley B. 8:51pm February 22, 2014)
Alpha's all the way! (Martha Lawson 8:58pm February 22, 2014)
Beta is my choice (Gary Bronstein 9:13pm February 22, 2014)
{{{Nancy}}} My thoughts are with you and your family.
In real life I prefer beta, but in books I'll take an alpha who reveals his beta bits only to me. (Marcy Shuler 9:56pm February 22, 2014)
So sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. I prefer alpha heroes, especially paranormal. (Bonnie H 11:29pm February 22, 2014)
Oh Nancy, I am so sorry about your husband! My thoughts and prayers are with you! I can only imagine what you are going through right now. (Glenda Martillotti 11:34pm February 22, 2014)
I would love to find out more about Mike and Brooke. This book sounds like a great read. (Melanie Backus 8:32am February 23, 2014)
I can't even imagine what you are going through with the loss of your husband. My prayers are with you Nancy! (Bonnie Capuano 9:42am February 23, 2014)
I'm truly sorry for your loss. You are an amazing lady. Even though this is a time of adjustment, you managed to stay upbeat. As for the hero, I like both types. (Anna Speed 1:40pm February 23, 2014)
I'll always go for an Alpha man, but, he really needs to have more brain than brawn. :) It's always a shame when they look so wonderful and then they can't string 5 words together to make an intelligent statement. But, in romance novels all the Alpha men have a lot to offer and that's what I like about daydreaming about the hero as I read. (Vennie Martinisi 1:56pm February 23, 2014)
I like down to earth, genuine heroes. Your Adams Grove series sounds wonderful! (Maria Proctor 3:36pm February 23, 2014)
So very sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you. (Denise Austin 4:45pm February 23, 2014)
I am very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you. I prefer alpha men. Thanks for the giveaway. (Kathleen Beale 7:48pm February 23, 2014)
I am so sorry to hear about your husband.
I like all kinds of heroes. (Mary Preston 8:59pm February 23, 2014)
Books that revolve around food make my mouth water and I get out more cookbooks. It's a different part of your life when a loved one is gone. I hope you had time for a sweet goodbye. (Alyson Widen 5:30pm February 25, 2014)
Please enter me in your contest from freshfiction.com I have tried and tried to get your contest to work but there is No enter button. Thanks, Cecilia [email protected] (Cecilia Dunbar Hernandez 9:24am February 28, 2014)
