SOMETIMES LOVE TAKES ROOT IN UNEXPECTED PLACES—IF YOU’LL
ONLY LET IT GROW
Colin Riordan came to Virgin River to recuperate from a
horrific helicopter crash, the scars of which he bears
inside and out. His family is wonderfully supportive, but
it’s his art than truly soothes his troubled soul.
Stung personally and professionally by an ill-advised
affair, PR guru Jillian Matlock arrived in town via golden
parachute. She’s bought an old Victorian with a promising
garden and is looking forward to cultivating something other
than a corporate brand.
When Jillian finds Colin at his easel in her yard, there’s
an instant connection. But both are holding romance at arm’s
length— looking to simplify, not complicate, their lives.
And Jill may yet be lured back to Silicon Valley...
No one arrives in Virgin River without a story, and no one
leaves—if they ever do—unchanged.
I must say, I love the Riordan men and was happy to greet the arrival of Colin's story, the brother with whom we are least familiar. In Wild Man Creek, Colin arrives in Virgin River to recover from a near fatal helicopter accident and the loss of his career in the military. Jill is there to recover from a bad relationship that led to the loss of her job. They find healing in Virgin River and with each other. I really liked the relationship between Jill and Colin, and the small adventures they encounter along the way. I must admit my favorite part is always the interplay among the Riordan family and watching the brothers get in each others business. (Maria Munoz 6:01pm December 17, 2010)
I have to agree with Maria, the byplay amongst the Riordan family is always fun to see. It's nice that such big strong burly men are so easily affectionate with one another, and show such a loving protectiveness for each other.
Every year there seems to be one book in the series that stands out for me, and even if I weren't keeping the complete series would have to be on my shelf, and without having completed reading this year's trilogy I would have to say that this year's winner might very well be Wild Man Creek. (Sandi Shilhanek 8:14am January 26, 2011)

Robyn - Just to let you know I'm glad that "Jack" stopped by to fill me in on the latest happenings in Virgin River. Sounds like things are really getting interesting around there right now and I'm real anxious to keep in touch to find out what's going to happen next.
I'm hoping to get some time to come on down and visit because I'd sure like to know what shenanigans Clay and Lilly are going to get into. Tell all the town folks that I said hello and hope to hear all about the going-ons and so to send me a hollar when they have time. (Jeanne Miro 6:58pm January 29, 2011)

It makes me wish that I was a Navajo!! lol I love to read books like this - the old-fashioned style of storytelling, which is a bit of a lost art. Thank you for keeping it alive. What an...uh...interest-whetting entry! I'll definitely be getting this book, as I've been trying to get all your others. Well, some I can't get; they're too rare. But I've been reading those hard-to-find books to the exclusion of your newer books. Next up is WOMAN'S OWN. I'm so glad our city library bought and kept these books. I'm certainly benefiting now that I have more time to read than I did when they first came out. (Sigrun Schulz 1:35am January 30, 2011)

lOVE ROBYN CARR'S NOVELS. (Gloria Walshver 8:27am February 2, 2011)
I just want everyone to know my address is c/o Jack's Bar, Virgin River, Calif. I've read and reread all the books in the series...just finished WILDMAN CREEK and am ready for HARVEST MOON. I wondered what Jill was going to do with all those veggies. Maybe we'll find out in Harvest Moon... I love books set in small towns and Virgin River fits that category along with great characters. Will Kelly and Paddy find each other in V.R.? (Louise Jacobson 3:30pm February 2, 2011)
I would love to read your books,so nice to run into this chance to win one. (Bonnie Gonzales 8:52pm February 3, 2011)
I am a huge fan of Robyn Carr, and have been since the publication of the first Virgin River novel.
With the release of Wild Man Creek I have found my personal favorite for the 2011 releases.
It's nice to see that sometimes even heroes have flaws, and need to work through them. While it couldn't have been easy to write such a flawed character struggling with addiction Ms. Carr didn't back off the subject, and showed the daily struggle to keep sober and to keep family in perspective.
When I turned the last page of Wild Man Creek I was for the moment satisfied with my Virgin River trip, but anxious for Harvest Moon. (Sandi Shilhanek 1:38pm February 7, 2011)
Would love to live in Virgin River where men take care of their women and women take care of their men and babies! Agatha (Agatha Townsend 8:46pm February 19, 2011)
