Romance Paranormal

Somiar Ayers has lived most of her life carefree. She is the daughter of Monica Ayers, the wealthy owner of several luxury resorts all over the world. She always knew she could control her dreams and looked at it as a harmless escape from reality. Or so she thought. One night she gets a call from Monica requesting an urgent meeting. Monica tells her that she is adopted and her birth mother was part of a group of assassins called Dreamers. When Dreamers go to sleep at night, they astral project anywhere they want to go. They can change their appearance and leave no DNA or fingerprints. Her birth mother has been caught and only Somiar can get her back. Malachi Walker’s job as a wealthy hotel owner is the perfect cover for his inherited job as a Dream Catcher. His only passion is to rid the world of Dreamers, particularly the one that killed his best friend. When he meets Somiar Ayers, his first instinct is to protect her at all costs. He beleives she is being hunted by a Dreamer, the very Dreamer he is looking for. Somiar must find her mother before Malachi realizes who she is. On her journey, she finds that nothing is as it seems, and she doesn’t know who to trust.

This sounds like a great book! And you're right...I wouldn't know how to answer that question if everything I thought I knew about myself and my family turned out to be a lie. Yeah...makes you think...

Sounds like a really origional book! I don't know how I'd react if I found out everything I believed about myself was false. On the other hand would it really be false? I mean, I know for me there have been pivotal things in my life that redifined who I was (ie going into military, having children). So it isn't really the genetics that made me who I am but the decisions I've made. And going after her mother has to change her. Meeting Malachi again would redefine her life.

The book sounds amazing! If I found out everything I knew
was a lie, I'd feel so lost...but then I would come to
depend on myself as I knew me. So where I see myself and
upbeat I'd come to depend on it to keep me going and give me
strength so I'd always be me on the inside, nothing would
change that but aspects of my life around me could influence
it.

This does sound like a great read. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to find out everything I knew about myself was a lie.

At the risk of sounding like Rene Descartes, I'm a thinker.

Hello there! Glad to meet you all. Somiar is really an amazing character and goes through a lot of changes. And Lynda, you're right. The things she goes through makes her redefine who she is. Even the hero and secondary characters find out things they never knew about themselves. It's a wild ride!

Shawn, your book sounds
amazing! We all like to "dream"
at some point in our lives and
I don't know how I would react
if I found out I suddenly
wasn't who I thought I was or
came from...this is definately
catchy and I'd love to read
more very soon!b

Some of us who do know who we are and where we come from, wish otherwise.
I love the sound of this story, unlike any I have read so far.
(
Barbara Hanson 10:26am January 21, 2012)

Whoa, Shawn! This sounds like a very captivating story--I'm
completely intrigued by this world you've envisioned! It'd be
such a shock to find out this sort of life-changing
information--I'm not sure how well I'd take it! Somiar's got
a tough road ahead!

I am pretty sure who I am - but generally need to keep most of who I am a secret because people are not open minded about those who are different.

Hey Shawn, great post. Great book. Ladies, if you think you're going to like this book, buy it because you'll love it!

Wow now this sounds like a very interesting book... you have caught my interest! I can not imagine what it is like to find out your life is a lie... thanks for sharing!

Sometimes I feel I know exactly who I am and at others I feel that I could never be more lost in the question of self.
The book sounds amazing.

Mattie King 12:39pm January 21, 2012)

I am a family oriented grandma who loves books of any kind.
I think all of us have some secrets that we keep to
ourselves and would be surprised at those close to us if we
knew everything about them. This sounds like a great book
that would get you to wonder about that but...as the saying
goes beware of what you wish for.
(
Cindy Olp 12:48pm January 21, 2012)

I never thought about who I am. I hope I am a good person. I am still thinking about this question. I love the idea of this book. It sounds like a great read.
(
Kathleen Yohanna 1:11pm January 21, 2012)

Most writers are dreamers with a healthy imagination. I'm a kind person willing to give a listen to hear what the others have to say. My friends call me an old soul.
(
Alyson Widen 1:31pm January 21, 2012)

Dreamers sounds like a unique, totally fantastic read! I'd
guess that finding out everything you believed about where
you came from would be disconcerting and truly
horrible...but where you come from is not as important as
WHO you ARE as a person.
(
Elizabeth Hyatt 1:31pm January 21, 2012)

This is definately different than what I normally read, but I am very interested. I love finding new authors and this has got me wondering ...how would I answer that question and what would it be like to find out everything I thought I knew was a lie. Very interesting.
(
Patti Paonessa 1:35pm January 21, 2012)

Wow, that would throw anyone. Finding out the truth about your parents, but
to top it off you find out you are a from a family of female assassins!
Awesome story line!
I can say I know who I am, since I am a clone of my Mom...and there are no
hidden assassins in my family tree....if only! That would make family get
togethers way more exciting!
(
Lexi Hansen 1:44pm January 21, 2012)

It's funny that you asked this question today. My life has been in utter turmoil for the past few years. I'll try to keep this short. I helped my Father take care of my Mother at home until she passed away from Alzheimer's disease. My Husband lost his job shortly after, and we lost our house, along with most of our possessions. We literally had not choice but to put what we had left into our small pick-up and pop-up camper and move to our new home - the nearest campground. We moved around to campgrounds until we found a place we could afford. My Family turned their backs on us, and that made me rethink who I truly was. Although I bear a slight resemblance to my Father, and picked up good traits from my Mother, I rarely hear from one Sister, and the other one won't talk to me at all. It's their loss, from my perspective, and life goes on. I'm a good person, and would rather help someone in need than my own Family. I've learned to be that way as I've gotten older. So who am I?? I'm still finding that out daily, but I like the new me very much!! Thank you for asking!!
(
Peggy Roberson 1:47pm January 21, 2012)

What a great question---who am I. Well I can say that I try to think of others and when I go to the supermarket I buy for my family but also canned goods for the local food pantrys to help families that need
(
Shirley Younger 1:56pm January 21, 2012)

Your book sounds intriguing. I feel I have a good sense of who I am, but news like Somiar received might change my thinking!
(
Phoenix V 2:07pm January 21, 2012)

Great teaser, definitely intriguing. Looking forward to learning more.
Good luck and happy writing!
(
Tracie Travis 2:17pm January 21, 2012)

I've been asking myself that very question as I prepare for retirement---I've always associated myself so closely with my job that redefining myself now is very hard.
(
Sue Farrell 2:29pm January 21, 2012)

I truly believe that I am who I think I am. Isn't that wonderful!
Blessings,

(
Marjorie Carmony 2:31pm January 21, 2012)

Hi Shawn! I'm a dreamer, too, and also always feel a need to help other people out with their situations, problems. I've always been one to assist whenever I can. I'm not sure why, but my father was that way, and my mother, the complete opposite (kept to herself). He'd repair anything for anybody even outside in freezing temps. Your book sounds very intriguing and captivating. It would be very confusing and shocking to find out everything I believed about myself was false and very hard to swallow and accept. Loved your post and this is a terrific storyline and is one I'd greatly enjoy reading.

Linda Luinstra 2:41pm January 21, 2012)

HI SHAWN! YOU ARE NEW TO ME BUT I HAVE YOU ON MY TBBL!! IT
SOUNDS AWESOME!!!!
(
Linda Bass 2:48pm January 21, 2012)

'I am who I am' and 'People have to take me as they find me'
are two things I live my life by. Mind you at 53 it's a bit
late to change what I think of myself :D
(
Ilona Fenton 2:54pm January 21, 2012)

WOW, another book to add to my TBR list.....really sounds good. Lots to think about; I have no idea what I would do if the "rug were pulled out from under me". but certainly is something to think about. Linda, I am like my mom and my sister is like my dad--same traits as yours!!!
(
Barbara Studer 2:58pm January 21, 2012)

Intriguing question. I believe that at my core I am a dreamer, an optimist, a nurturer, and a child of God.
(
Cheryl Castings 3:28pm January 21, 2012)

If someone asked me to tell them about myself, I'd have to say that I'm a hard-worker. I love to be at work and be really busy and don't mind working overtime. After a plant-closing from a job I held for 20 yrs. and a layoff from a plant I worked at for nearly 5 yrs., I discovered, in a hurry, that the idle time between jobs isn't for me. I'm a dreamer of better things to come and found out you have to do for yourself, since family doesn't help you out or care as much as you thought, when the going gets tough (even when you've been there to help them out when they needed it)! DREAMERS sounds great and a book to enjoy.
(
Rich Cook 3:59pm January 21, 2012)

I would say I am a survivor. I have had 3 near drownings, been in a tornado, and survived many other things. It has made me a stronger person. I never take life for granted.
I would love to read your book, it sounds really good.
(
Debbie Penny 5:08pm January 21, 2012)

about myself or anyone else...the more i know..it seems the less i know!!!!am proven wrong many a time!!!
(
Mal Kaplan 5:08pm January 21, 2012)

This looks like a great book. Personally, I find that as soon as I figure out who I am, God laughs, and I change (a.k.a."Grow"). =)
Thanks for the contest, also.
(
Kathleen Conner 5:09pm January 21, 2012)

Great post, Shawn, and now I'm mumbling to myself, "Do you suppose..."
(
Liz Flaherty 5:12pm January 21, 2012)

I am who I am and you get what you see but watch it--I change from day to day
and minute to minute and love it. I am myself.
(
Sandra Spilecki 5:15pm January 21, 2012)

I also believe in the saying that in order to go somewhere you need to know where you are coming from. I don't dwell on the bad things or mistakes but I'd liek to think I do learn from it.
(
Na S 5:37pm January 21, 2012)

Hi Shawn! I know my roots very well, so there aren't any secrets there. I am a very depressed person that is trying to learn who the real me is. There is so much of my past that was so painful that I buried it deep inside. I am also an optimist. I always try to see and think the best of people although many times I have been disappointed. I do know that I am me and therefore unique.
(
Cathy Phillips 5:38pm January 21, 2012)

There are lots of secrets in who was who and who was raised by who, but who am I. I am someone who loved my life until abou six months ago and realized i did not have as much control over my destiny as I thought. So I am someone who wants to move back to my secrets and family and be a help again. I will get stonger and do this.

Now you have me thinking. What would I say: work, family interests??
(
Mary Preston 6:55pm January 21, 2012)

Today I'd say I am a breast cancer survivor and a newbie gym rat! Previously I'd say I was an emptynester with a honeymoon attitude.
(
Joanne Hicks 6:57pm January 21, 2012)

Sounds like an interesting book. As for me and who I am, I try to live my life
with passion and Godly direction.

My wife and I enjoy supernatural books, and this sounds up our alley! As for who I am, I'm a lover, a traveler, and a musician! =)

Hi Shawn,
Nice to meet you. I'm a dreamer and Native American and a mother of a 23 year old son, whose about to get married in Oct. I'm 49 and I work with a publishing company and I'm so blessed to have a lot of author friends. Your book sounds fantastic and it the blurb has just the right edge to grab your attention.
I wish you much success with it and many sales. I will be looking forward to reading it.

I'm who I am because the Creator wishes it so. I have a gift from him. I have the gift of dreams myself. I dream and it comes to pass eventually. My dreams don't always interpret to the T. For example I had a dream that my parents were involved in a plane crash and died. This didn't mean that it happen. It meant something was wrong. My parents were on a trip in Vegas and I had the dream it scared me. So on the day they were due back I called them . The next day I called again and still no answer. So I called my sister, she gave me the excuse that my parents were staying on a couple more days in Vegas because they ran into some friends.
I was in College at the time and in finals. The day my parents were due back my sister called and told me they were on there way back and she could tell me the truth. My mother had been hospitalized in Vegas because they thought she had a stroke. She told my sister not to tell me the truth for she wanted me to do well on the finals.
I told my sister I knew it. I knew something was wrong from the dream. My sister said she hated my mojo black magic gift.
My mother has the same gift. As did my grandmother.

Take care and many blessings to you.
(
Teresa Kleeman 9:12pm January 21, 2012)

When I was young my older sister use to say I was adopted. My mom, sister and I look very much alike lol. My oldest daughter tried the same thing on her younger sister and once again, they look alike lol.

I am a dreamer too, always wondering what if. Great post, Shawn, I look forward to reading your story.
(

A dreamer for sure!
(

Thanks to everyone for stopping by and sharing a small piece of yourselves with me. It has been a priviledge meeting all of you. And remember,no matter who you are, or who you think you are, know that you are special. Good luck and God bless!

Shawn
(
Shawn Dalton-smith 12:16pm January 22, 2012)

Fascinating premise--I know that we inherit much from our ancestors, but what we are is what we chose to make of ourselves. I got started in genealogy about 15 years ago when my parents were dying of cancer. I discovered so many wonderful things about my family, but a few disagreeable surprises also. I know that some of my talents and weaknesses are those I share with relatives I never knew. But just as I cannot ride on the successes of those who went before me, I refuse to take responsibility for the poor decisions of others. I look forward to reading your book!
(
Janet Martin 11:01am January 22, 2012)

Sounds good!
(
Nancy Bird 5:09pm January 22, 2012)

I have redefined myself over and over again. I have marveled at my own resilience, been through heart-breaking events. Battling breast cancer and losing my mother and 11 year old niece in a tragic car accident while I was recovering was one of the most re-defining moments of my life. I had to think about how we affect others, how to re-evaluate my goals, re-think my relationships. It changed me to my core. I used to think I could forgive anything, but I realized it's much easier said than done; and the one I found hardest to forgive was myself. I should have been there when it happened to help dad, and so forth. The biggest thing I learned through it all is that regardless of what happens, keeping focused on the relationships that we have is crucial...friends and family. Thank God for them all.
(
Sharon Hutchins 6:29pm January 22, 2012)

It is an interesting idea since when I think of who I am, one thing I identify is that I am my parent's daughter.
(
Maureen Emmons 6:45pm January 22, 2012)

I daydream quite a bit. I do know my background, but after reading your story, I found myself wondering how it would be not knowing expected facts about myself. It would certainly be strange. Would I constantly be seeking the missing information? Would I meet people and wonder if they played a part in my past? You have written a fascinating and thought-provoking story.
(
Gladys Paradowski 1:30am January 23, 2012)

What an interesting concept for a story. Would love to read it.

As for who I am, I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I am sure of those facts. Am pretty boring. Have had a lot of wonderful family, some of who are now gone.
(
Paul Lieberman 8:26am January 23, 2012)

Sounds like a cool book!!
