Hi,

My dream job would be a commercial artist. I'd love to draw comics, mangas and design book covers.

I like them both, for different reasons and I suppose, if I had to choose it would be Superman. I love his outfit....very sexy, his protectiveness, he can fly and has super powers but is also very human.

Re: Beneath The Night Tree (11:20am February 18, 2011):

Never really had a serious relationship. Had many 'love from afar' experiences. The boys just didn't like me that way...I had a lot of boy friends....but never a real boyfriend...sigh. I was convinced I would end up a spinster.

Until I met my husband and that was a whirlwind romance that has laster 33 years and is still going very strong!!!

Re: Outcast Mine (2:50pm February 17, 2011):

I'm always amazed when I hear of writers working together to write a book and I am always interested to hear how that works.

I think it must be really exciting, having someone to bounce ideas off...help with the writing and editing.

Sounds you have a good team going, and this book sounds really awesome!!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone.

My hubby of 33 years says Valentine's Day is everyday!!!!

Re: Dangerous Secrets (1:47pm February 11, 2011):

Well, my mum made me quit school early. I really wanted to stay in school, go to art school and make a career in design or something like that.

Well, leaving school turned out to be the best thing cos my life went in a totally different direction. I travelled extensively, met the most wonderful man and had a slew of beautiful children....sigh!!!

I wouldn't change anything for the world.

Re: The Mistress' House (1:55pm February 10, 2011):

I do enjoy a well-written historical and have read many. I also love the sexual tension that builds up between the characters...it's much better to let that build up than for them to get between the sheets right away...hehe!!!

Re: Society's Most Disreputable Gentleman (1:04pm February 9, 2011):

I love reading about the rake who finds the woman who tames him...hehe.

I would like something a little tamer in real life...although I married a bit of a rake and he is still a ladies man and loves to flirt with the ladies.

But, he has proven over and over again that he loves me, would never leave me and we have a deep seated trust. After 33 years and eleven kids...it's been earned!!!

I discovered books at a very young age. Even before I went to school, I bugged my Mum to get me the school readers so I could get a head start.

I've been reading ever since and ploughed through my local library. I have now, over 6,000 books at home which get added to monthly. I hope I live long enough to read them all!!! Hehe!!

Well, coffee is the first thing on my mind when I get up. No matter what is happening...I gotta have my coffee.

Well, my ideal working day would be that all my English students would come to me for their lessons....then in the late afternoon, I would be finished and could go for a long walk with my hubby, have a nice meal out, then come home to relax with a book.

Re: Dreams' Dark Kiss (1:20pm January 18, 2011):

You are very lucky to have a mother like that. I always wanted a career in art, but my mother took me out of school early and I had to work and bring in some money. Sigh. Still, I say you are never to old to achieve your dreams so I am not giving up...even though I am old now.

As to that special actor I would cast...that could only be the very delickable, darkly handsome, sinfully sexy Gerard Butler...sigh!!!!

Re: Deadly Identity (4:14pm December 30, 2010):

I've often thought about writing. I have scores of self-motivation books, how-tos and articles from the internet but I haven't gotten down to the brass tacks yet. I know that if you really want to write, you will....and I think I don't really want to...at least not right now.

I am enjoying reading books by the awesome talented writers who do see it as their vocation.

Very good advice. I've often heard that you should write what you know....but what do I know? hehe.

But I think, with good research and talking to the right people, a clever author can bring the reader into the plot and setting very well.

Thanks for this post.

I think it's fascinating when authors come out and share some bits about the craft. I enjoyed this post. I've heard of this before...kill your darlings. I always thought it meant you had to kill somebody you really enjoyed writing in the story...hehe!!!

I know one author who set up his story, introduced some wonderful characters that the reader is sure they are going to be the heros and heroines....but then he started killing them off. It's a great OMG moment!! But it was ok, cause the continues to be fascinating with some more OMG moments....hehe!!!

As for de-stressing, a walk in God's good nature always does it for me. If it's a warm day, walking barefeet on the grass, feeling the sun on my face is sooooo relaxing. On a cool day, wrap up warm and sit by a lake, so calming.

There are so many warrior heroes out there. I just can't think of any right now although those you've listed are my favourites too.

Oh, there is the Grave series by Jeanne Frost. Bones is a hunk of lovin' vampire...lol!!

Re: Deadly Fear (11:30am August 26, 2010):

Great post.

I know, when reading a suspense or thriller, I like to get into the antagonist's head, it makes it all the more creepy...hehe!!!

And monsterss having human traits, yes, I agree. It does make them more relatable for sure.

And I love paranormal characters because they are something different, unusual and always oh so dark and sexy.

I haven't had any experience with past regression either, but I do think there is something about it. I know that I have been places where I feel a special affinity to although I have never been there before.

I am highly attracted to the Elizabethan times and can't get enough of it's history.

It's been hot here too, and now the weather is starting to break with some cooler spells and even a bit of rain...yippee!!!!

I read all year round, whenever I can, can't help it, I'm a bookaholic. I've read some lovely historical romances of late and a couple of paranormals.

I love dragons and dragon shapeshifters...cool!! Breathing fire is awesome. I will look up these books at the German amazon and put them on my wishlist right away!!!

I'm always drawn into a story with the action bursts into the first chapter, I have characters that I right away fall in love with and I have to read on to find out what happens to them.

It's all I can do not to go to the last few pages to really make sure they are ok...hehe!!!

Re: Hero (2:49pm August 18, 2010):

I write reviews and I always try to be very objective. I always look for the good things and if there is anything that I personally felt was wrong, I try to say it in a kind way.

I recently read a book by an author that I usually adore, but this book just didn't hit it with me and I was very frustrated. Of course, this does not stop me from continuing to read her books.

And yes, I love your covers too!!!!

of course, I adore the romance. The tension between the hero and heroine. How they overcome obstacles and how they find their happy ever after. Ok, falling in love with the hero isn't bad either..hehe!!!

I also like all kinds of genres and many of my fav authors write a mixture of genres. I can imagine it's hard for the book shops to shelve their books. I am so happy you are going to help them out...hehe!!!

Hi,

Yeah, I get in a reading slump now and again. I just read a really nice book, Nine Rules To Break When Romancing A Rake by Sara MacLean. A great story that kept me reading until the last page!!!

There are too many books I'm waiting for!!

Re: Crush On You (11:49am June 10, 2010):

Oh yes, what was I wearing? Haha...now you've made me laugh.

I met my husband in Turkey. He is German by the way, I'm a Brit.

Anyways, I had arrived in Turkey and my suitcase went one way while I went the other. So, while I was waiting for my suitcase, I borrowed a dress. Now, the girl was a bit...ok quite a bit smaller than me and the only thing she had that fit me was a large, bright red kaftan. So, that's what I was wearing when I met my husband. To this day he says red is my colour...hehe!!!

great post and congrats on your win.

I don't step out of my comfort zone too often. I guess the last time was some years ago when I went alone, across the Atlantic to spend three weeks in Ohio to meet some lovely ladies I had met and got to know online.

I had a wonderful time and it was the first time I travelled so far, alone.

My family were great in letting me got too.

Re: Blown Away (7:30am May 30, 2010):

Nosra Roberts has some good trilogies out. I usually get the first one, then have to wait for the next, then the next, but when it's only a three book story, then the waiting is just about bearaable.

I agree, three books is just perfect for a story. You can really get into the characters, the plot and enjoy it just a little bit longer.

Re: The Teaberry Strangler (5:00pm May 22, 2010):

If I read a new to me author and they are great then I immediately start glomming their books, especially if they have written a series. I'll buy a new author if I've gotten a recommendation from someone I know who shares my tastes, or I pick it up in the book shop and the blurb gets me interested.

Re: Viking in Love (2:58pm February 4, 2010):

Hi,

I love your stories and I enjoy Viking stories. I also read a lot of e-books and one of my favourite authors is Marie Treanor who writes really good urban fantasy. She also wrote a 'steampunk' story that is really good.

I highly admire romance authors. To put all that emotion and steaminess on the page that has us actually feeling and rooting for the hero and heroine. Wonderful!! This looks like a great series, they are now on my wishlist!!!

Re: Out Of The Darkness (12:43pm October 8, 2009):

Looks like great books!!!! More to add to my 'to buy' list.

Re: Lakeshore Christmas (2:41pm September 26, 2009):

I LOVE books signings. I love meeting authors and getting my books signed. I also really enjoy the interaction with other readers. I live in Germany and although I do have a few bookaholic friends, if it wasn't for the internet, I wouldn't have much of a chance to talk about and share my addiction...hehe!!! I even met my favourite author in Berlin one year, Terry Pratchett, that was great fun!!!

Re: Shades of Twilight (2:36pm September 26, 2009):

I live in Germany, getting English books is limited, but thank God for amazon!!! We had a small, tiny romance conference here a few times and I went for about four years in a row. I met the lovely Sherrilyn Kenyon, Dianna Love, Kathleen Givens, Lindsay Sands. Ellora's Cave came over one year, with some of their authors and cover models....yum. It was such fun, but unfortunately it's no longer on! Boohoo.

Re: What I Did For Love (5:17am September 20, 2009):

Look s like most readers are the same. A comfortable place, a favourite drink. Peace and quiet would be nice, but like others here, when I get into a good book, a bomb could go off, the earth could shake, a fire could break out and I am oblivious to it all!!! Hehe!!!

Re: Air Time (2:05pm August 26, 2009):

We live in Germany now and have been going for 31 years and have eleven children!!

I'd love to dress up as a fairy, with a long, wispy gown, sparkly make up, cool headress like the fairies in Lord of the Rings, and....a beautiful set of wings.

Re: Queen Takes King (1:26pm June 28, 2009):

I always love seeing photos of authors. It's nice to put a face to the name.

It's especially nice seeing authors doing what authors do, write, sign, hang out at conferences, maybe posing with a cover model or ten...hehe!!!

Re: Loving a Lost Lord (1:24pm June 28, 2009):

I don't mind if authors write books that sound similar.

What I don't like and what I have found sometimes is when an author rehashes an old plot and just puts it in a different setting and gives the characters different names.

I love many genres, so hop around a lot when I'm getting tired of one. When I go back to that genre, then it seems fresh and new again and I enjoy it more.

Re: When The Sun Goes Down... (1:20pm June 28, 2009):

Mouth watering while reading about the new releases.

There are certainly a few there that caught my attention!!

Re: The 8th Confession (1:18pm June 28, 2009):

Wow, lots of good book to add to my wishlist....sigh!!

There are just too many books, not enough cash and not enough time.

My 'to be read pile' is a mountain and I hope to live long enough to read them all!!

Re: Killer Cuts (5:36pm May 25, 2009):

Great list of books there...oh my poor credit card!!! There are way too many good books!!! My wish list at amazon is exploding....time to make sure everyone knows what I want for Christmas...hehe!!!

Re: The Secret Life of Bees (12:32pm February 8, 2009):

Well, I usually prefer to read the book rather than watch the movie, but I have seen some movies that really did the book justice. When I watch the movie after reading the book, I don't expect too much, as there is usually soooo much more in the book. That said, I did enjoy the Lord Of The Rings movies, the Harry Potters too. Also the Narnia movies were enjoyable.

After I read Michael Creighton's Timeline, I told everyone that it just had to be made into a movie, and when it was I went to see it and I wasn't disappointed.

But, when it comes to the crunch, give me the book, every time!!!
