Romance Historical | Romance Paranormal

To most people, the realm of magic is the stuff of nursery rhymes and dusty libraries. But for Capt. Gabriel Huntley, it's become quite real and quite dangerous...

In Hot Pursuit...
The vicious attack Capt. Gabriel Huntley witnesses in a dark alley sparks a chain of events that will take him to the ends of the Earth and beyond—where what is real and what is imagined become terribly confused. And frankly, Huntley couldn't be more pleased. Intrigue, danger, and a beautiful woman in distress—just what he needs.

In Hotter Water...
Raised thousands of miles from England, Thalia Burgess is no typical Victorian lady. A good thing, because a proper lady would have no hope of recovering the priceless magical artifact Thalia is after. Huntley's assistance might come in handy, though she has to keep him in the dark. But this distractingly handsome soldier isn't easy to deceive...

(
Cynthia Netherton 3:41pm September 6, 2010)

The cover drew me in first; then the fresh locale was appealing. All the rest of what I have read about Warrior so far adds up to one I must read soon.
(
Dolores Feagin 3:55pm September 6, 2010)

I've been looking forward to The Blades of the Rose series since I first began hearing about it. I love the idea of an exciting, adventerous, historical romance with paranormal and steampunk elements and exotic locations. Wowza!
(
Barbara Elness 3:57pm September 6, 2010)

What a great concept! I've loved historial romances since I first started reading, but having gotten older, do prefer something more than the usual 'saved by a man' senario!
(

Adventure, can't wait.

Julie Swaney 8:22pm September 6, 2010)

The book sounds great! Congratulations!
(
Brenda Rupp 8:47pm September 6, 2010)

Zoe, you had me at the cover. I didn't
even have to read the blurb to know I
wanted this book. The covers for the
rest of this series are awesome. I am a
history, travel, suspense and high
adventure lover. A touch of
paranormal is a bonus. I am an
Indiana Jones fan and this book cover
certainly taps into that. No accident
I'm sure. This is a series I will
definitely be getting.
(
Patricia Barraclough 9:11pm September 6, 2010)

Lisa Richards 9:07pm September 8, 2010)

Hi Zoe,
I am a new reader of the series and the one I read is all you said and more! You have a special gift as to paint the scenes in a way that comes vividly alive.
I would and am recommending you to anyone who will listen. I look forward to many more adventures with the Blades of the Roses. It is easy to see your love of the story, the characters and their adventures.
By the way, I saw a short interview with you and the tatoo you have of their symbol is an awesome tribute. :)
(
Chris Jones 9:27pm September 10, 2010)

My best fan moment is when I found Julia Quinn's books. Now I'm spending my weekend reading about all the handsome rakes and enjoying her humor!
(
Pamela Stewart 1:19pm September 11, 2010)

My worst fan moment was at a book
signing by Anne Rice. I couldn't come up
with anything smart or interesting to say
to her and she ended up signing my
name wrong on the book.
(
Sue Ahn 1:22pm September 11, 2010)

My best fan moment was at a booksigning where they thought I was a Romance writer and were surprised that I just happened to drop in at a favorite indie bookstore, Joseph-Beth Booksellers. Some other happy events are hearing authors read passages from their books with feeling and explaining how they got to the points on the page with research and crafting the novel.
(
Alyson Widen 1:34pm September 11, 2010)

My best fan moments were meeting some baseball players and getting autographs, tho it was many years ago.
(
Paul Lieberman 1:37pm September 11, 2010)

Haven't had any fan moments yet. I've never been to a signing or conference.
(
Jane Cheung 1:39pm September 11, 2010)

I loved meeting Debbie Macomber. She is charming!
Blessings,
Marjorie
(
Marjorie Carmony 1:40pm September 11, 2010)

I have never had the pleasure of meeting an author. If I did I have no doubts I would become tongue tied and not be able to talk anyways, lol.
(
Vicki Hancock 2:03pm September 11, 2010)

I got a box of wonderful books
yesterday and will be starting one of
them today. THE COUNTESS AND THE
KING by Susan Holloway Scott is one I
have been looking forward to plus a
blog I follow will be having a
discussion of it next week. Don't think
I can read that fast.
I don't have an ereader yet either. I
am fighting it. I have won several
ebooks and am not sure what to do. I
don't want to sit at the computer to
read them. Like you I enjoy the paper
format and seeing those books on the
shelf bring back good memories. I am
also terribly un-tech savvy. I haven't
figured out all I can do on my
computer or net book yet. Why add
one more gadget that will be under
used.
(
Patricia Barraclough 2:07pm September 11, 2010)

No fan moment here... I think I would be blank if I meet some of my fav authors... :)
(
Colleen Conklin 2:28pm September 11, 2010)

I got to keep time for Mary Higgins Clark when she spoke at the National Book Festival years ago. She was the first author my grandmother ever recommended and really brought us together as adults, so it was awesome to meet her.
(
Pam Howell 2:28pm September 11, 2010)

My best fan moment was when I met Kate Douglas. I had been participating in author chats as a enthusiastic reader. She was travelling and met groups of readers on the way. It was a relaxed and fun setting (being in a coffee area of a well-known local bookstore). She is a gracious and entertaining person as well as talented writer.
(
G. Bisbjerg 2:33pm September 11, 2010)

My best fan moment was getting Walter Cronkite's autograph when I was in college.
(
G S Moch 2:48pm September 11, 2010)

I havn't had a fan moment yet, but I am a fan of all authors. Love your site, it always points me to a book that I tend to like, Thank you.
(
Elizabeth Parzino 3:05pm September 11, 2010)

Unfortunately I've not had any in person encounters but several times I reviewed books on my blog and the author left a very nice comment. Made me feel so honored! Cloudy and looks like rain here - off to finish my mystery. Have a great week!
(
Karen Gervasi 3:09pm September 11, 2010)

My best fan moment was sitting next to David Justice during a high school basketball game.
(
Tracie Travis 3:53pm September 11, 2010)

I have not had the fortune of
having a fan moment, but I would
probably freeze and wouldn't
know what to say.
(
Juana Esparza 4:25pm September 11, 2010)

My best fan moment was last fall when I got to meet Adriana Tregiani, the author of the Big Stone Gap and Valentine books. I'm such a huge fan of hers. She chatted with the audience for nearly 2 hours before she even started signing books. I had almost every book she'd ever written and while she signed them all, we discussed Clark Gable (she's crazy about him)and how to get her mother to cough up some of her jewelry before she dies. Then she said "Well Jill, what else can I do for you?" She was gracious enough to have several pictures taken with me. I cherish those books and pictures so much.
(
Jill Hayden 5:05pm September 11, 2010)

I definitely prefer to be able to write out both my names for signings. In fact, I have to spell them out anywhere it's needed. When there's a book signing at our main library, the staff gives sticky notes on which you can write the name and any note you wish. It goes much faster that way. The last autographed book I got was SOMEONE KNOWS MY NAME (U.S. title) by Lawrence Hill. I had asked to have it noted as a birthday present (to myself) although that was the day after. I also asked him about writer's cramp. It's an historic novel well worth reading. His brother is a singer-songwriter, Dan Hill.
(
Sigrun Schulz 5:25pm September 11, 2010)

My best fan moment was getting Mem Fox books autographed for my children. She is quite a character.
(
Mary Preston 6:01pm September 11, 2010)

I had plans for some R&R and ended up with a migraine. I've been a slug all day!
(
MaryAnne Banks 7:43pm September 11, 2010)

Best fan moment was getting a signed book by Sherry Thomas.
(
Deb Pelletier 7:54pm September 11, 2010)

I haven't had a fan moment I haven't been to a signing or conference darn it!
(
Brenda Rupp 8:17pm September 11, 2010)

Haven't had a fan moment, but I'm with you about reading a paper format.
(
Sheila True 9:08pm September 11, 2010)

I was in a tiny village charity shop that sold donated books to benefit their small public library, and came upon one of the very first, long out of print books of an author friend of mine. I was delighted to find it and purchase it for the princely sum of fifty cents, to be able to present to my friend for an autograph now that she's making all kinds of best of year lists.
(
Maya Missani 11:54pm September 11, 2010)

I haven't had the pleasure of meeting any authors, but I did meet Jim Brickman once. That was pretty cool.
(
Ginger Hinson 2:04am September 12, 2010)

I can't say that I've had a fan moment with a famous author, but there's a member from a band that was famous in the 70's who is now an aquaintance of mine, and we've had many good conversations. I don't bring up that I know he was in the band. After going to my Mother-in Law's Memorial service, I plan on trying to unwind from the stress of her passing with a good book and perhaps a little knitting thrown in. I need a little "me" time this week!!
(
Peggy Roberson 7:23am September 12, 2010)

I don't a fan moment. But love many writers and always discovering new ones. This weekend was spent working on a visual media presentation, as usual, and talking with my children in other states.
I have not obtained a Kindle or other book reader, want one for travel but like you I love to have a book in hand, nothing else like it.
(
Dean Young 9:52am September 12, 2010)

Oh, my best fan moment....well...I've had a few. Sherrilyn Kenyon for one, such a LOVELY lady. Terry Pratchett who is soooo funny and George R R Martin. Cool that I could meet them over here in Germany.
(
Valerie Bongards 2:00pm September 12, 2010)

I haven't meet an author but I hope to one day. Thanks for giving me a chance to win the books.
(
Linda Hall 2:20pm September 12, 2010)

I'm finally reading (in book form)The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.I too love books and would love to win some. Thanks
(
Catherine Myers 2:31pm September 12, 2010)

I love going to a party where the conversation turns to books!
(
Bridget Lopreiato 2:32pm September 12, 2010)

I have only met one author, Kate Collins. She writes the Flower Shop mysteries. I have met a couple actors and was star struck! Dennis Ferrignio of Law & Order is such a nice guy! Donny & Marie Osmond are so funny and super nice. I shook hands with President Bush, Senior, when he was campaigning.

I sure hope to meet more authors! I would love to attend a conference some day!
(
Michele Rioli 2:54pm September 12, 2010)

Going to visit my Dad he lives far away and we haven't seen him since July.
(
Diane Sadler 7:57pm September 12, 2010)

I have never been to a book signing but would no doubt be tongue tied. Have always been shy. Thanks for the contest!
(
Teresa Ward 9:17pm September 12, 2010)

hope i can still win
(
Desiree Reilly 9:24pm September 12, 2010)

Just spent a lovely day with five of our cousins that we don't get to see very often! Since the weather was nice we went to the Winery and then played putt putt golf. Got home, picked up my latest book and continued reading!!!
(
Karin Tillotson 10:47pm September 12, 2010)

My best fan moment was attending the RWA Literacy signing this summer. I got to meet so many great authors, took lots of pictures, and got some signed books too. It was fabulous.
(
Barbara Elness 1:10pm September 18, 2010)

My fan moment was meeting Sherilyn Kenyon at the Rita and Rita's Tea, I knew a few authors but when it came time to actually talk to her I was so tongue tied. Afterwards I coulda kicked myself, she was so nice and signed everything which was awesome. I am so glad I got to meet her and hear her speak, hopefully if I am lucky enough to meet her again my tongue will behave.
