Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies for my kids and they still
ask for them.

Re: No Safe Harbor (11:11pm July 27, 2015):

I would like to see a handfasting.

Re: Bridging Two Hearts (12:08pm October 4, 2014):

sure will make the book that much better to read.

I found it.

I love the tips that you give on writing a book. I always
loved reading about different settings and would love to
read this one.

Re: A Winter Wedding (11:15pm September 5, 2014):

I was a September Bride and still feel that way after 39
years. I always wondered what it would be like to be a
winter bride and would love to read how you portray this.

Re: Accidentally Married on Purpose (12:47pm July 18, 2014):

I didn't have any special movie star. My things were books. I could read all day and love it

Re: Crime Rib (10:16pm July 2, 2014):

This sounds like a nice little mystery. I would enjoy it with a glass of tea.

Re: Montana Bride (1:22am June 24, 2014):

Re: Dream Huntress (1:20am June 24, 2014):

I have always believed in something after death, after all isn't that what we are taught in Church? So this sounds like an interesting book.

Re: The Warrior (12:07pm May 6, 2014):

This sounds so interesting. I would love to read it. Reading letters in the characters POV is always a surprise.

Re: What The Groom Wants (12:04pm May 6, 2014):

I love your books because you always surprise me. I can never wait to see what you are going to do next.

Re: An Unexpected Sin (4:18pm April 20, 2014):

The Salem Witch trials were always a part of history that facinated me.
Your book blurb makes me want to read.

Re: Paige Turned (12:16pm April 18, 2014):

Life is an adventure that I would never want to miss. There are so many things to look for that may give us love, laughter, tears and wisdom. It is a journey that will last until we are no longer there to make it and allow those that we left behind something to remember us by.

Re: A Plain Man (12:11pm April 18, 2014):

I am always ready for a new author. If I find their writing to my taste I am a new fan, if it is not I will recommend them to people that I know will like this type of book.

I love the base steal. I always hold my breath to see if they make it or not.

Re: How to Handle a Cowboy (12:39pm April 4, 2014):

I love series books. A cowboy is a plus and waiting to see
who returns in the next book are a plus. And waiting to see
if a character that you have grown to love/admire gets their
own story keeps you coming back for more.

Re: The Red-Hot Chili Cook-Off (12:34pm April 4, 2014):

Love my husbands Cowboy Chili, he has won lots of cook offs
with it. Lots of meat, beans, spices and I don't know what
else (he doesn't even let me know).

Re: Home to Stay (9:24pm March 26, 2014):

In Catherine Anderson's Baby Love Rafe Kendrick goes to the pawn shop and pawns his wedding ring. The emotion in that scene is unbelievable.

This is a new to me series and it sounds like something that I would enjoy.

Re: Dating, Dining, and Desperation (10:58pm March 16, 2014):

I was born in a Metro, grew up in a city of 60,000, moved to a village of 10,000 and now am back in the burbs of a metro. I find that all of the places I have lived offered both good and bad things. I guess that it doesn't matter where you live but who you live with.

Re: Shadowed By Grace (10:54pm March 16, 2014):

I share books with my online friends and they share them with me. We have come to know each others favorite type and when we come across it we forward the info.

Re: The Duke's Quandary (10:52pm March 16, 2014):

My hero is my husband who has been with me for 38 years. Some of the happiest days, births, graduations, weddings, etc. Some of saddest death of parents, daughter, moving and watching children leave for adventures in their own lives. In all of this he still tells me he loves me every day and looks out for my needs. I love him for this and that is why he is my hero.

Abigail and the Mistletoe sounds wonderful. This too is my
favorite time of year.

I love Linda Howard's books Dream Man and After the Night.
Both Heroes betray the Heroines have a difficult time
redeeming themselves

Re: Contract For Marriage (1:14pm October 4, 2012):

I would scream and pry the doors open. Notice I did not say
try to pry, I would do it, adrenaline will do that to a
person.
Your books does sound very interesting and I can't wait to
read it.

Re: Enemies at the Altar (4:42pm September 20, 2012):

As they say there is a fine line between love and hate.

Re: The Curse (12:50pm September 16, 2012):

I love the feel of the book in my hands. I try to go to the
conventions when I can afford it. The kindle I have is used
on trips since I do not want to have my books ruined or
lost.

The author in new will know what is right for the story.

Re: The Officer Says I DO (3:14pm July 19, 2012):

The ones that I heard were KISS-Keep It Simple Stupid

Re: Grill Me, Baby (6:29am June 18, 2012):

I have many foods that I like but...the one that brings happy
memory is grilled Hot Dogs. I remember going to the beach
and wearing myself out swimming. After walking home my dad
would be grilling hot dogs for is. We would eat those and
Potato Salad and juice.

Re: True Highland Spirit (1:38pm March 30, 2012):

I love the idea of a woman warrior. I would like to win
this.

What I love about my little town is the friendly people.
They are so nice and even know you by name at the stores and
gas stations. It is like being a part of a big family.

Re: Against The Night (11:49pm March 10, 2012):

I have so many movies that I love, Witness, Big Country,
Dances with Wolves, Last of the Mohicans, When Harry Met
Sally. And I could go on and on and...

Re: Stud (12:48pm February 8, 2012):

I think some of the Harry Potter and Twilight movies were
good but...the books are always better. I think this is true
since a movie has a certain amount of time to bring the story
to the screen. So that is why I think the books are always
better.

Re: Chosen By Sin (9:24pm January 31, 2012):

I love romantic suspense and to have someone that has a
backround in criminology makes it that much more appealing.

Re: Double Dare (8:43pm January 27, 2012):

I love lumberjacks. The first time I read some were when
Jane Kidder did the Wellesly brothers. I have found that
this is a hard to find hero. I am so grateful to see that
someone is out this wonderfully rough, musky man is something
to drool for.

Re: Fever (3:02pm January 25, 2012):

Welcome. I look forward to reading your books.

Re: Dreamers (12:48pm January 21, 2012):

I am a family oriented grandma who loves books of any kind.
I think all of us have some secrets that we keep to
ourselves and would be surprised at those close to us if we
knew everything about them. This sounds like a great book
that would get you to wonder about that but...as the saying
goes beware of what you wish for.

Re: Sex, Lies and Surveillance (12:25pm January 19, 2012):

This sounds like it has many layers weaved into a story that
would interest me.

Re: Sins Of The Highlander (12:47pm January 12, 2012):

This sounds like a fun book. I look forward to it coming to
our area.

Re: Pretty Persuasion (2:03am January 9, 2012):

I like the premise of this story. It is always nice to see a
man try to figure out how he can right a wrong. I look
forward to reading this.

I am thankful for God and all the blessings that he gave me including my wonderful family and friends.

Re: Until There Was You (4:58pm November 16, 2011):

There is nothing like a bad boy redeeming himself and claiming the love that he lost.

Re: The Highlander's Heart (4:57pm November 16, 2011):

Thank you for sharing the story backround. It sounds very interesting

Re: Love Me Twice (5:45pm August 18, 2011):

My dancing skill is as bad as Carlton's fom Fresh Prince of Bel Airs. I can not sing if my life depended on it. What I am good at is imagination. I love reading to expand my own little world.

Re: Deadly Obsession (8:57pm August 16, 2011):

Thank you for the blurb. I like a well devoloped character he dosen't have to be an Alpha for him to interest me.

Re: Making Waves (5:36am August 8, 2011):

I love the people you chose to inspire you on your characters. This sounds like an interesting read.

Re: Midnight Fear (8:09pm August 7, 2011):

Congratulations on finishing the books. I have not had the chance to read Midnight Caller but...I will be picking it up. After reading the blurb for Midnight Fear sounds like a book right along my type of reading.

Re: The Lady Of The Storm (1:49pm August 4, 2011):

I love a story that I "see". This makes it very memoriable to me. I have noticed that what I see visually isn't always what someone else "sees" and it is so much fun to compare those pictures.

Re: Too Hot To Touch (10:08pm August 3, 2011):

My first crush was in my class. I was 8 years old and he make me smile and we were great friends for the year...so I was absolutely devistated when going back to school in the fall, I discovered that he had moved out of state.

Re: What A Goddess Wants (5:02pm July 28, 2011):

You are the ultimate Time Manager. Thank you for not giving up and letting us leave our exhaution behind when we read your books.

Re: A Gentleman Never Tells (4:55pm July 25, 2011):

I have seen some errors that are humorous and at the same time I have had to reread a line two-three times to make sense of what I am reading. I also understand that when you are writing a book of such length things happen.
A Gentleman Never Tells sounds like a wonderful read. Thank you for sharing the the synopsis.

Re: Undead And Undermined (6:29pm July 22, 2011):

I love your Undead series. It keeps me glued to the books. I have to say that I have not read or watched the Twilight series but...I have watched the Harry Potter series with my grandchildres and we did enjoy ourselves.

Re: Rock Hard (8:52pm April 4, 2011):

Sounds like a good book.

Re: The Return Of Black Douglas (10:15am April 1, 2011):

I have tried to explain some of this to friends and it was very confusing to them. I am Scots/Irish or Irish/Scots as you have shown. Your explaination is so much easier to understand. Thank you for your research. I look forward to reading this book.

Re: A Lot Like Love (6:14pm March 24, 2011):

This sounds like a wonderful plot with characters that you could love. I have always loved stories pertaining to wine (and chocolate lol) ever since I watched A Walk in the Clouds. I look forward to seeing your book in our area.

Re: Highland Heat (4:11pm March 21, 2011):

Hi Mary,
This book sounds like and intriging read. Thank you for sharing their insights on how you worked to acheive the personalities of the characters.

Re: An Unlikely Countess (10:01pm March 19, 2011):

I have to agree with you on wanting to be "in our own world". I don't think that this is snobbish. It has been found in studies that it is as difficult for the poor, middle class or rich to relate to those outside their comfort zones. I really think that is why the new show The Secret Millionaire is doing so well. We all want to see a happily ever after. The trials to get that are the best part of the story.

Re: Angel's Rest (12:25pm March 12, 2011):

Congratulations on the PW review. I also think that it is helpful if authors change their name to meet the new direction of the books that they are writing.

Re: Against the Law (2:41pm March 1, 2011):

Congratulations on making the list. I have always loved your books.I just finished Against the Law and loved it. I can not wait to see what you do with Trace's story.

Re: Dreams' Dark Kiss (7:07pm January 18, 2011):

My mother helped me since I was a sick child and spent a lot of time in hospitals I grew to love reading. Letting my imagination soar when I couldn't made me feel better. Reading made me a sponge for more information. Leading to an appreciation of art and music. I have grown rich from all of these formats and now my children are the same.

Re: Wicked Seduction (3:02am January 12, 2011):

Jade I have always loved your stories. You do write interesting tales and I enjoyed making you part of the Cindy club LOL

Re: The Fire In Ember (8:26pm January 10, 2011):

I love historical romances. It dosen't have to be a princess to get her happily ever after. Maybe a lady or a cattlewoman or maid whoever it may be I love to go the journey of the story.

Re: Master Of Smoke (5:58pm January 4, 2011):

I loved your blog so much. I always wondered how you came up with stories. I always love reading your books. When I get one I can not put it down until it is done. You take me to a world that intrigues and facinates. I can not wait to see what you have next in the works.

Re: Real Vampires Have More To Love (1:29am January 4, 2011):

This sounds very interesting. I never thought of the changes in the way that it would effect a woman. Men are pretty much the same over time. But women are always thinking family, style foods, etc. Thank you for the new point of view.

Re: Against The Wind (1:25am January 4, 2011):

I love trilogies. They are fun to read since you get to see what is happening with the rest of the family/friends. You get to go back and see the solution for the first book and meet to added characters. Sometimes they can extend to even more than 3 books and to watch each charater grow is like watching your own family grow. Can't wait for this series.

Re: Holiday Affair (3:35am November 1, 2010):

I really love the sound of Home for the Holidays. It sounds like the fun chaos that we have every year and we wouldn't miss a minute of it.

Re: The Bride's Necklace (1:46am September 28, 2010):

I have to agree that covers can make or break a book. I;ve seen some terrible ones. There are times though when I just look at a book and do not like the cover but..something inside says pick it up. I have found a number of gems this way, I love all of your books and have to say Midnight Rider was one of my all time favs. I look foreward to your Raines Brothers series.

Re: I Love This Bar (6:41pm June 3, 2010):

I love this idea. It is about time that someone did a series on some sexy rednecks.

Re: Strange Neighbors (5:43pm June 1, 2010):

This sounds like a book right up my alley. I commend all storytellers since it is truley a difficult job to birth something everyone will enjoy.

Re: Ancient Whispers (7:41pm May 31, 2010):

Congratulations on the win for the publishing contract. You are an inspiration and I would love to win a copy of your novel.

Re: Blown Away (2:05pm May 30, 2010):

I will read the books of a trilogy right away but...when the next one comes out I will re-read the previous book(s) to refresh my memory. Some of the summer trilogies that I am looking forward to are:

Linda Lael Millers- The McKettricks of Texas

Johanna Lindsey's latest Malory - That Perfect Someone

Sharon Sala's - Blown Away, Torn Apart and Swept Aside

Sherrilyn Kenyon's Infinity the Chronicles of Nick. This will be a while but I am looking forward to it.

Lara Adrian - Taken by Midnight

These are just some of the upcoming books that I am looking forward to reading.

Re: Dead in the Family (7:10pm May 29, 2010):

I pretty much inhale any book that I get. And have quite a collection for my library. There is no one genre that I gravitate to. Both my husband and I love to read. A lot of summer days are spent at a park with a book, some sandwiches and each other. We do spend time on short vacations, weekend trips but we find that as we get older we like the quiet time when we get it.

Re: On Folly Beach (4:21pm May 18, 2010):

Karen this sounds wonderful. My husband and I have had a family chart done for his side. Still working on mine. My daughter, like you is an avid scrapbooker and has done 1 for each year of her 4 children. She has also done dvd's of pictures from all of the family members for birthdays and such. I love anything from the past.

Re: Silent Truth (5:27pm May 12, 2010):

This sounds like a wonderful story. As to your question what would it take for you to go into witsic. I do not know. I like to think that the only reason I would do anything like that would be to protect my family but...to miss out on everything in their future would be heartbreaking.

Re: In Shelter Cove (5:37pm May 4, 2010):

I love stories of heroes that have to overcome adversities. This sounds like a book that I would be very interested in reading.

Re: His Border Bride (5:51pm May 3, 2010):

One of my favorite heroes is in Judith McNaughts Kingdom of Dreams. The battle of wills between Royce and Jennifer had me enthralled. He appears to have no sympathy for Jennifers situation but...you do find as you read that there is more to this hero than meets the readers first impression.

Re: Chasing Perfect (12:21pm April 28, 2010):

I am a bit of both. I was born outside of LA then the parents moved to Compton. When we were getting into the school ages my parents moved back to Wisconsin to a smaller city. Now I live in a town of about 10,000. I find that each city, town or burg has wonderful things to offer.

Re: Dark Embrace (6:25am April 23, 2010):

This looks so good.

Re: Rule's Bride (5:15am April 23, 2010):

Ms Martin I love your books and look forward to reading the entire Bride series.

Re: In For A Penny (10:35pm April 22, 2010):

I can see your point dealing with a tough critique. I find that this as in all life you have to take the information that you are given and take what you will and leave what you will. We all know that a part of a writers soul is put into each character some of those that critique sometimes forget that while others are trying to make the character more to their liking.

Re: Beautiful People (1:37pm April 21, 2010):

I find that I have a dry sense of humor. I do like some slapstick if it is done well and believe that laughter will extend your life.

Re: Maid for the Millionaire (11:35pm April 20, 2010):

I just love the way that you look at life. I am very interested in your books and will be on the look out for them.

Re: Silent Truth (9:12pm April 19, 2010):

I have many things that I enjoy and would wither away without. First is God. Second is my family, my grandbabies amaze me the way they look at the world. I love my alone time to read, listen to music or watch a good movie.

Re: Building Iphone Apps With Html, CSS, And Javascript (11:30pm April 18, 2010):

I find that if I can not if I can not get into the storyline of a book within the first three chapters it is time to move on to another book. I find myself going into "spurts" of different themes so I always keep the book for another try.

Re: Shadow Games (1:31am April 15, 2010):

I also love the shows like 48 hours, CSI's Criminal Minds and there is also one called most wicked. These shows may not be fully factual but...they try to give the lay-person some idea of what makes a killer do what they do. As you stated there are so many types from manslaughter to seriel to terrorist killers. I like the way an author can take you on an imaginary thrill of discovering who the killer in their book is.

Re: Demonkeepers (6:09am April 14, 2010):

As you do I love each of the characters for their individuality. I can not wait for the next book in the series Demonkeepers to make it to the stores in my area.

Re: Dead Head (3:11am April 13, 2010):

I can fully relate to how much you really know about your neighbors. We lived in a very quiet neighborhood that I actually grew up in. In the last year alone the police raided a drug house that we had no idea of the family seemed nice with young children. Then what finally made us move was one of my sons childhood friends was murdered in his own home by his brother. Now this is by no means a large city it is under 60000 people. I can not wait to read your book. Please enter me in your contest.

Re: The Mage In Black (1:39am April 12, 2010):

I found many "friends" in books. I was an unhealthy child and books were my way of seeing the world. To this day I prefer to read than watch tv. My grandchildren have come to love books as much as I do although they were allowed to be much more active. So when they come over I get to read the books that started me out like The Velvetine Rabbit and when they leave I can emjoy my romances.

Re: Big Bad Wolf (12:44pm April 10, 2010):

I hate it when a book is re-issued out of order. This means that I have to go in search of the previous books and sometimes it is nearly impossible.

Re: Reunion (4:21am April 8, 2010):

I have loved all of your books Ms McKenna and enjoyed meeting you at RT in 2000. I look forward to reading this Nocturne.

Re: The Highest Stakes (9:54pm April 1, 2010):

I always love when an author puts actual facts into a novel. This article shows how well some novels are researched. Thank you for sharing.

Re: Almost Home (12:11pm March 25, 2010):

I usually like the paperback since it will fit easily in my purse. But if a book is coming out in hardback by one of my autobuys and I know that it will be at least 6 months I will buy it. I have no patience in waiting to see what happens in a story.

Re: Something About You (1:42am March 20, 2010):

I loved all the Hitchcock movies because they left you on the edge of your seat. One of my favorites was North by Northwest with Rear Window following a close secone. This latest synopsis has me anxious to read Something About You. I have tried to find it and have not as yet, but...I am determined. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talent with us.

Re: The Highlander's Sword (9:43pm March 18, 2010):

I would love to read this. The plot so grabs my attention. And the cover!!! Yummy

Re: Dangerous Highlander (1:59am January 4, 2010):

I have always thought that the author and artist should work together on the cover. Too many times I have seen a cover character that does not match the book. By working with the author you would have a definate look to the character as it was meant to be. I also think that an author should be allowed to have the a choice of titles. After all the story came from the author not the publisher.

Re: Breakfast In Bed (3:30pm December 28, 2009):

This looks to be something I would be very interested in reading. Thank you for sharing the preview.

Re: Dead Pan (1:25am November 14, 2009):

I look forward to reading this. The premiss sounds so interesting. Thank you for sharing.

Re: Kindred In Death (4:43pm November 8, 2009):

I love long running series. Getting to visite old friends and see how they are faring is alwasys loads of fun.

Re: Rainwater (1:04am November 7, 2009):

I love looking a book trailers. They give me an idea of where the characters originated from in an authors mind. Rainwater sounds terrific. Thank you for sharing a piece of your heart in this story.

Re: Santa Honey (1:38am October 23, 2009):

I totally agree with the loss of books being seen. My area was always a problem to find novels and it has become more so. I used to have to travel 25 miles to the nearest Walden's bookstore and they closed that last year. I knew Emma well and she would call me a let me know when a new book by my fav authors and there are many. I would walk out of her store spending no less than $100. This would be 3-4 times a month. Emma got to know my reading tastes and would let me know when an author would come out with something that could interest me. This is how I found Sherrilyn Kenyon, JR Ward, Janet Chapman, Cindy Gerard and so many more. I had already "discovered" some favorites and was disappointed when their publishing houses closed, ie Kismet, Loveswept, MacFadden. I have been reading for 45+ years and will continue to do so. I love the feel of a book in my hands. Don't get me wrong when I am I also like ebooks and audio books but...a hardcover or paperback is just so comfortable. I have seen changes over the years in the publishing business and I hope that this will be resolved. It is very troubling to find out so many bad things going on out there. With so many wonderfully talented authors reading is a feeding of the imagination. My library always has room for more books. I have no ready solution other than to actually purchase the books that I want from a reliable dealer. I may have to order more online or take fewer trips since the bookstores are further away. That may be what all of us will have to do.

Re: Finger Lickin' Fifteen (2:19am October 18, 2009):

Love the back round info. I so love it when there is detail in a book it gives a visual that adds to the dimension of the storyline.
