Don't think I would like a job such as yours. OTOH, reading about it while safe at home could be interesting.

Re: City Of Promise (7:59pm June 23, 2011):

My recent read is a reissue of a mid-seventies book by Dorothy Gilman. Before she wrote the Mrs. Polifax series, she wrote one called A Nun in the Closet. Nuns, hippies, herbs, drug dealers, migrant workers all mix it up in a hilarious story. For an 18th century historical romance, I liked The Leopard Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt.

Little women is a favorite, of course.

Have always respected and admired seals and this past week's events show why.

Re: Already Home (1:43pm May 12, 2011):

At my age, I've done all the complicated recipes, including baking bread and canning preserves. Now I just want quick and simple.

Re: A Family Affair (2:02pm May 6, 2011):

Watching the Royal wedding makes me wish Americans wore more hats. What fun.

Re: The Alchemy of Desire (4:01pm April 25, 2011):

Both should be available. Most alpha characters I read about tend to be shallow. I prefer brains, humor and compassion in real life as well as fictional characters.

Re: Hidden Embers (10:06pm April 23, 2011):

Spring is my favorite. No more snow and ice keeping me indoors, flowers blooming, trees budding. But best of all, long days with lots of sunshine.

Re: It Happened On Maple Street (4:55pm April 19, 2011):

Thanks for addressing this problem. I've been close enough to know how difficult it can be to escape, and am so happy you did. This sounds like a must-read book.

Re: A Lot Like Love (2:04pm March 24, 2011):

Always enjoy romantic suspense. In a quiet house (nothing more annoying than being interrupted when engrossed in a good book) With coffee in the AM or herbal tea or wine later in the day.

How nice to get away from the overdone Regencies for a new time and method of transportation.

Re: Haunting Jasmine (4:44pm January 30, 2011):

Love great old houses. My grandmother's house had a tiny office underneath the front staircase where she wrote mail and grocery lists, a library off the dining room, and a warren of rooms on 3 floors and a basement. Fun to explore.

Re: Pleasure Me (1:45pm January 14, 2011):

Books take me to another world and help me forget any problems I might have.

Re: Fatal Justice (12:37pm January 6, 2011):
