My heroine from my new holiday romance JANE'S GIFT has only two simple wishes for the upcoming Christmas season. She wants to be surrounded by her family, and she wants to create new holiday memories for her young children.

You see, Jane suffered terrible burns in a house fire—and lost her husband in the fire. Widowed and slowly recovering, she's had a rough time of it. That's why she's come back home to Lone Pine Lake, the small town where she grew up, where the majority of her family still resides. It's a place for her to reconnect with her siblings, her parents and her friends, send her children to the same elementary school she attended and open herself to new possibilities.

Jane certainly doesn't expect to fall in love again, especially with the handsome fire captain who happens to be one of her younger brother's best friends. Christian Nelson is kind, handsome and he seems interested in Jane, despite what she worries is her emotional baggage. Soon, Jane's falling for Chris...and her wish list grows to include allowing a special someone to become a part of her life—on a permanent basis.

I hope if you get a chance to read JANE'S GIFT, you'll enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Happy Holidays!

ABOUT JANE'S GIFT

A fire captain afraid of commitment. A widow afraid of fire. Can the holidays bring them together?

A devastating house fire cost Jane Clark nearly everything: her husband, her confidence, and her looks, with the physical scars marbling her body. Now, two years later, she's living and healing back in her childhood hometown of Lone Pine Lake. The upcoming holidays are the perfect opportunity to bring some Christmas cheer into her young children's lives, starting with a visit to the firehouse, where her brother's best friend has offered to help quell their residual fears.

Lone Pine's resident playboy, fire captain Christian Nelson is happy with his single-guy lifestyle. He's an everyday local hero, so he's never wanting for attention around the holidays. But when Jane Clark shows up, Chris is immediately drawn to the beautiful widow--even though kids and commitment have never been his style.

Despite her brother's warnings about his friend's playboy status and dangerous occupation, Jane can't help but fall for the gorgeous fire captain. The holidays are a time of new beginnings, but can two scarred people find the strength to let go of their pasts to live in the present, when a lifetime together might be the sweetest gift of all?

Re: Karen Erickson | A Christmas Wish List

I'll definately read this. Sounds good.
(Shirley Thomas 12:52pm December 8, 2012)

Karen - reading about perfect people with perfect lives is boring; I love reading about how love helps couples overcome physical or emotional problems in the relationship.
(Dana Wong 1:34am December 8, 2012)

Your book sounds really good. Another book I plan on trying to read this season is "A Darcy Christmas". Happy Holidays!
(Chelsea Knestrick 3:07am December 8, 2012)

Can't wait to read this; sounds like a good read!
(Mary Smith 6:18am December 8, 2012)

"Under His Protection" is on my wish list for this Christmas season and I would truly enjoy reading "Jane's Gift". This is the perfect time of year to read about miracles of love.
(Beth Charette 7:37am December 8, 2012)

Actually, I have gotten so far behind, I don't even have a list this year. I will have to say Jane's Gift will be my book to read.
(Debbie Penny 7:44am December 8, 2012)

Linda Howard's Shadow Woman is on my list though it's only due out on the first of January, GC maybe???
(Diane Sadler 7:44am December 8, 2012)

You know, I don't make lists much. Jane's Gift sounds unusual and interesting from several angles, though, so I'd better give it a try.
(Mary Ann Dimand 7:58am December 8, 2012)

This book I really want to read...thanks!!!
(Bonnie Capuano 8:22am December 8, 2012)

I don't usually have fiction on my Christmas list, usually it's books about the history of cooking or herbals. I will put this on this year's list and hope that I get it.
(Norma Storms 8:35am December 8, 2012)

I admire authors who can take a tough subject, such as living
with challenges such as Jane's. It can be tough going at
times, but it is well worth reading (and making it an HEA to
boot).
(Lori Howe 9:55am December 8, 2012)

Don't have a list - I read the jackets. Lately I've been looking for a good cookbook for my mom - she just went digital.
(Beth Elder 10:13am December 8, 2012)

I have a list. It's not to long but certainly not short. This book is definately going on the list but at the top.
(Cathy Thomas 10:41am December 8, 2012)

My wishlist holiday book is "Naughty or Nice" an anthology by
Sherrilyn Kenyon, Carly Phillips, Patricia Ryan and Kathryn
Smith.
(Karin Anderson 11:03am December 8, 2012)

I applaud your risk taking with such a tough issue. Definitely will be going on my TBR list. Also, the book currently at the top of my list is Heart of Atlantis by Alyssa Day.
(Wanda Craighead 11:07am December 8, 2012)

My Kind of Christmas by Robyn Carr and Jane's Gift, of course!
(Cheryl Castings 11:17am December 8, 2012)

I would like to read this book. I know first hand what it is to have a house fire - my house burned to the ground in 1994 - it is something I will never forget.
(Nancy O'Brien 11:22am December 8, 2012)

sounds like a nice winter read. thanks for this chance!
(Debbi Shaw 11:36am December 8, 2012)

The book I just pre-ordered isn't romance. But I couldn't resist the title - MOM'S WHO DRINK & SWEAR
(Jenna Bayley-Burke 11:50am December 8, 2012)

Book looks great. Love firemen!
(Kathy Sullivan 12:22pm December 8, 2012)

I am the type that goes in the store and walks out with two bags, I am hoping and hinting to getting gift cards this Christmas. I just finished The 13th Day of Christmas and truly recommend it.
(Carla Carlson 12:54pm December 8, 2012)

I have too many books on my "wish list" to even begin to
name them. One of the one's on the top is Jane's Gift. I'm
also hoping to get Romancing the Holiday (anthology with
Jaci Burton, HelenKay Dimon & Christi Barth). I have a
pretty good feeling I'll be ordering the Kindle versions on
Christmas day! ;)
(Michelle Harlan 1:26pm December 8, 2012)

I'm always on the lookout for new-to-me romance authors, I'm so glad I found Fresh Fiction to feed my book addiction!
(Angela Hoagland 1:30pm December 8, 2012)

Jane's Gift sounds pretty good. So does Christmas on Mimosa Lane by Anna DeStefano. I've already finished several Christmas books--'Twas the Night After Christmas by Sabrina Jeffries has been my favorite so far. Thanks for visiting.
(G S Moch 1:37pm December 8, 2012)

This one is definately on my list. I really thinks it sounds great. And the firemen theme is great. Our local firemen have had a very difficult month with too many fatal car crashes which one of them was their own. So when an author recognozies firemen and policeman and service men and women, it means alot. Thank you!!
(Dawn Staniszeski 1:43pm December 8, 2012)

I haven't thought about this before, but Jane's Gift seems a good place to start. Merry Christmas!
(Anna Speed 1:44pm December 8, 2012)

Jane's Gift, Twas the Night After Christmas, and My Kind of Christmas are on my hoiday wish list.
(Bonnie H 2:10pm December 8, 2012)

Ooh... thanks for the peeky, Karen! Can't wait to add this to
my TBR!
(Fedora Chen 2:11pm December 8, 2012)

I don't really read romance novels, but yours sounds interesting.
(Terri Quick 2:28pm December 8, 2012)

I haven't ready any of your books before but I may have just
found another new author. This book sounds like it will be
very interesting and one you can't put down until you have
finished it. I look forward to reading it. Thanks for the
opportunity to enter this contest.
(Mary Christian 3:14pm December 8, 2012)

I guess if I'd have to pick ONE holiday book, I'd like to read Sabrina Jeffery's holiday book. I think this is a great thing you are doing. I suffered some burns a few years ago and it really made me appreciate what firefighters go through on a daily basis. Amy
(Amy Conley 3:18pm December 8, 2012)

I want to get The Duchess War by Courtney Milan even though I don't think it's a holiday story.
(Maureen Emmons 3:25pm December 8, 2012)
