Okay, so I have a couple of confessions to make.  Ready?  First confession: I have a thing for a man on a motorcycle.  There's just something about that "rebel outlaw mounts up on the back of a half ton of steel and heads for the open road" thing.  (Shhh.  We're not admitting this to my suit-and-tie hubby.)  And confession two: I'm totally goo-goo-gah-gah over a military man.  I mean, seriously?  Is there anything yummier than taut muscles packed inside a starched uniform?  (Again, this is just our little secret.)  So one day I thought to myself, "What if?"  What if there was a way to combine my two favorite fantasy men?  And from that simple question, the idea for HELL ON WHEELS, the first book in my Black Knights Inc. romantic suspense series was born.

So if you like hot, ex-military men who know how to handle their guns (you decide exactly which gun I'm talking about, you gutter-minded readers) and ride kick-butt custom-made Harleys, then the BKI books are for you!

HELL ON WHEELS

He's the bad boy she's always wanted...

Nate "Ghost" Weller has loved Ali Morgan nearly half his life. But he's done something so heinous he's convinced she'll never forgive him if she discovers the truth.  So he keeps his feelings and his secrets to himself. But when she blows into town with a mother lode of bad guys on her tail, Nate can't deny she's in serious trouble and, unfortunately, he's the only one who can help her.

She's the good girl he's kept at arm's length...

Ali knows Nate as the most solemn, aloof man on the planet. Sadly, he's also the sexiest. For years she's avoided him, unable to stomach his dark scowls and brooding silences... especially when she secretly yearns for his touch. Now she must rely on him to save her from the malevolent shadows ghosting her every move. When the bullets explode, so does their passion. But can love really conquer all? Or are some things just too terrible to forgive?

Thank you, Fresh Fiction, for this opportunity to highlight my new series.  Look for the second and third BKI books, IN RIDES TROUBLE and REV IT UP, to hit shelves in September and October respectively.  Thank you, readers, for stopping by.  And as a little parting gift, I'm leaving you with an excerpt of HELL ON WHEELS...

"Nate?"

When she said his name like that, he wanted to take on the world. "Hmm?"

"You just laughed."

"I do that on occasion." He used to do it all the time when Grigg was alive. The exasperating sonofagun had done his level best to keep Nate in stitches. Of course, Ali wouldn't know that. Anytime she was around him, he was usually concentrating so hard on not springing a boner that any attempt at appreciating humor was out of the question. Since Grigg's death, though, all the laughter had left him, flown away with Grigg's last breath. But something about having Ali here made him feel...lighter. Dare he admit it? Maybe even a teensy bit happy?

"Nate?"

Scratch that. He didn't just want to take on the world when she said his name like that, he wanted to take on the whole friggin' galaxy. "Yeah?"

"I'm touching you."

No doubt about that. The baseball bat he was trying to conceal behind his zipper was testimony enough. "I noticed."

"You're not jerking away. Acting like I'm carrying around a double whammy of hepatitis and bubonic plague."

Double whammy of...He could only shake his head and fight a grin. She was simply adorable. No bones about it. And, yeah, that warm feeling slowly seeping through his veins could only be happiness. He remembered the sensation...vaguely. "What are you jabbering on about now, woman?"

"That fact that you don't like for me to touch you."

Was she insane?

"You don't like it when I touch you, do you?" she asked.

"I never said that," he muttered through clenched teeth because she was in the process of running her hands over his shoulders. Was it possible to feel happiness while in the midst of being killed?

"Then why have you always gone out of your way to avoid any physical contact with me? We've known each other for...well, sometimes it seems like forever. You're like a second son to my parents. You grab up my mom and hug her until she's giggling and ruffling your hair. Even that awkward male combination handshake/hug thing you do with my dad proves you're not allergic to human touch. And you and Grigg had your arms thrown around each other's shoulders so often mom sometimes called you the USMC's only set of Siamese twins—attached at the armpit. But all I ever got was a tip of the chin, if that. So what gives? Why do you turn sideways when we pass each other in the hallway?"

For a brief instant, he considered lying. But there were so many bitter truths he couldn't tell her, so many questions she'd asked that he absolutely could not answer. This wasn't one of them. So...the truth it was. "I like it too much."

"Huh?" There went her nose again, all wrinkly and wonderful.

"Your touch. I like it too much." Hell, now it'd be her going out of her way to avoid physical contact. Which was just as well. He was only a man, after all, and with her within arm's reach—not to mention actually touching him—his hold on his usually stalwart restraint was tenuous at best.

Downright threadbare at worst.

Her delicately arched brows snapped toward her nose. "Like it too much. What does that mean?"

Geez. The woman wasn't usually slow, but she was pulling the ol' bag of hammers routine with this one. Instead of explaining it, he simply reeled her in until she brushed against the irrefutable evidence centered directly behind his fly.

(Jennifer Beyer 9:18pm August 10, 2012)

Can't wait, love your books
(Cec Smith 9:42pm August 10, 2012)

I absolutely loved the excerpt of the book, so I have no choice but to put this on my TBR list, along with the next 2 of the series. As for men on motorcycles, my Husband was one of them, back when we first got back together. I used to love the rides we went on, when I could twist his arm. Now the bike is retired, as he is. lol Since I'm a bit younger, I still eye up the guys, as well as the bikes, and dream, but I don't dare tell him!! Since you want us to keep a secret, you can keep mine!! lol We also have a lot of biker get-togethers at different establishments where I live now, so I get to see a lot of bikers where I live during the Summer months. As for men in uniform, that doesn't happen too often, but they get my respect just the same. Congratulations on your book, and I'm sure it will do well. I know you have a new reader on your list!!
(Peggy Roberson 9:53pm August 10, 2012)

Looks like a great new series to read! Love it when the sad,
bad boy gets his HEA with the love of his life.
(Diane Sallans 9:59pm August 10, 2012)

Sounds like a great read. Love military guys, I married one. Thanks for giving me a chance to win your book.
(Linda Hall 10:29pm August 10, 2012)

it sounds great.just what i love hot guy and a bike!!
(Jennifer Beck 10:30pm August 10, 2012)

Congratulations on your new series!
(Mary C 11:19pm August 10, 2012)

I'm not much for bikes--the rides I've had have not been my idea of fun. But I love "bad" guys who make good and this sounds as if it fits the bill.
(Sigrun Schulz 11:43pm August 10, 2012)

Lord love a bad boy... especially one in black leather on a sweet motorcycle. Makes my heart beat faster just thinking about it. Maybe that's why I love it when my hubby rides his motorcycle. LOL
(Donna Holmberg 11:51pm August 10, 2012)

Great blurb, great cover! Sounds like a lovely series. Thanks for the giveaway.
(Tamsyn Takamiya 11:54pm August 10, 2012)

My brother did have a Harley but was injured in a road accident when a car turned suddenly on the road and crashed into him. Sadly the bikes don't give much protection. He's fine now luckily and he did ride the bike after that but not now.
(Clare O'Beara 5:23am August 11, 2012)

After that excerpt I want to read the rest so I'm throwing my
name in the hat for a chance at this giveaway :D
(Ilona Fenton 12:20pm August 11, 2012)

Thanks SO MUCH for the "Gift" ;-) You sold me, I have to get
this series, lol.
(Lenna Hendershott 12:24pm August 11, 2012)

Great excerpt, I enjoyed it.
(Rita Wray 1:09pm August 11, 2012)

ditto
(Pamela Faye Howell 1:14pm August 11, 2012)

Sounds great!
(Stacy Wright 1:04pm August 13, 2012)

Right behind you in that confession department! Makes a gal go weak in the knees, does it not? (Thanks for being the first to say it out loud. I promise not to tell.)
