Terry Shames is the author of eleven books in the Samuel Craddock mystery series. Her books have been short-listed for numerous awards. A Killing at Cotton Hill won the MacCavity Award for Best First Novel. The Necessary Murder of Nonie Blake won the RT Reviews Critics Award.
The latest Craddock book, The Troubling Death of Maddy Benson, October 2, 2024, was an Amazon Editor’s Pick.
The twelfth in the series, The Curious Poisoning of Jewel Barnes, will be out in December, 2025.
Her new Jessie Madison thriller series debuted in April, 2024, from Severn House Publishing, with Perilous Waters. The second in the series, Deep Dive comes out July 2. Booklist calls it a “must-read” thriller.
Terry is a member of the Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, the Texas Institute of Letters, and the International Thriller Writers. She lives in Southern California with her husband, David, her dog Monty and her cat Max.
