Daily Dose Holiday Giveaway: Gift Certificates to Amazon
November 27, 2009
Let’s kick our holiday season off right here at the Daily
Dose. As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, the Daily
Dose is going to be hosting a giveaway of some kind everyday between now
and December 19, so make sure you stop by regularly. Before we get to the
giveaway, let us go over the rules:
1. You comment on the blog in order to be entered into the drawing.
2. You must include whom you want to give the gift. You do not have to name
names or post their email information, just a short blurb about what they mean
to you or why it’s important they receive it. You can be a real secret Santa as
well.
3. Each drawing will last 24 hours unless otherwise noted. (7 a.m. to 7 a.m.
CST)
4. Winners will be notified by email so make sure I have that or access to it
via your profile. Upon notification, you let me know whom the gift is going to.
5. You may only win one giveaway, once you win one you cannot enter into
anymore.
6. Spread the holiday cheer for everyone celebrating Hannukah, Kwanzaa, Yule,
Christmas and more.
Example Entry: I want to nominate a dear friend from my office.
She and her husband are always struggling to make ends meet. They never buy
anything for themselves, even at the holidays, but they give everything to their
kids. I just want to treat her to something special for her. Pretty simple, huh?
Holiday Giveaways Today is Black Friday in the United States! So what better way to kick off our
holiday giveaway than with a $25 gift certificate to Amazon from author

I would like to nominate my daughter, she is getting married in 1 1/2 yrs, and she has been helping out with bills , because my husband has been out of work since Feb. I'm nominating a special friend who is very worried about how she will afford Christmas gifts for her two little boys this year. She is recently divorced and although she is able to cover her housing costs and miscellaneous bills, it's rather tight for extras. The other day, her oldest, who is 9, said to her, "Santa isn't coming to our house this year, is he?" (LuAnn Morgan 4:54pm November 27, 2009)
I would nominate my son. He has had a lot of unexpected expenses lately, and he could use a GC to help with holiday expenses. (Cheryl Castings 5:00pm November 27, 2009)

My mother was my emotional mainstay throughout most of my life. Since she passed away, her place has been taken by my sister. She has been supporting me financially as well throughout a time of illness. I would love to be able to do something for her, even if it is only for her to buy some books for her grandchildren. (Sigrun Schulz 12:12pm November 28, 2009)
My sister has been having a hard time paying her bills and doesn't know how she will afford presents for her son. (Sherry Strode 12:49pm November 28, 2009)
I nominate the library where I work. As with most small libraries, our funding is lacking. I do what I can to make the pennies stretch, but there are always more books than I have money for. I am the children's librarian, but help select and purchase for the whole library. (Patricia Barraclough 12:51pm November 28, 2009)

I'D LIKE TO NOMINATE MY MOM. SHE'S BEEN VERY ILL AND IN THE HOSPITAL. SHE ALMOST DIED ON HER BIRTHDAY SO THE PARTY AND GIFTS GOT LOST IN THE SHUFFLE AND SHE NEVER GOT TO CELEBRATE.NOW SHE IS WELL ENOUGH TO READ SO I THINK THIS WOULD BE A GREAT SURPRISE FOR HER. (Paulette Maddox 11:42am November 28, 2009)
I would like to nominate my daughter. She's been going to school full time, working part time, all while taking care of a husband and a baby. She also takes care of a cat, and 2 pugs, one of whom is blind and needs special care. I think a little cheer to make her feel special when she feels overwhelmed would brighten her day. (Theresa Buckholtz 11:46am November 28, 2009)
I'd like to nominate my mother. She works for the local community foundation, is an active member of the Rotary Club and Women's Initiave, takes care of both sets of granparents, and baby sits my 2 and 4 year old nieces 16+ days out of each month. She's also had 2 major surgeries this year and took care of my father after he had a retinal detachment surgery this summer. (Joelle Beebe 1:05pm November 28, 2009)
My daughter is my choice for nominee. She has suffered great hardships this year and a gift for her to use for her family for Christmas would be absolutely wonderful. (Mitzi Hinkey 4:38pm November 28, 2009)
I would like to nominate my friend from work. She lost her husband to cancer over the summer and has two kids under the age of 10. She has been so down in the dumps and has told numerous other co-workers how she just cannot get into the Christmas spirit this year. All the medical bills and regular everday household bills have really set her finances back and she is terrified of not having much under the tree for her little ones. The fact that their dad is gone this Christmas for the first time is going to be hard enough and she really wants this Christmas to be as special as she can make it to help with the sadness they are going to have to deal with. Thanks for the awesome contest. This would surely brighten up her holidays! (Erin Thompson 5:34pm November 28, 2009)

Their Mother is up on burglary charges and their Dad is disabled and fighting for complete custody of them to protect them. Their Grandpa is very ill and their Grandmother is going blind.
