The world has lots of exciting and scary things going on right now. I’ve been
watching the news and trying to balance normal life sanity with keeping up with
what’s going on outside my door. And in the middle of that, I realized I’ve got
four books coming out this fall. Yes, FOUR! The first is: As Rich as a Rogue
by Jade Lee coming in August! Woo hoo! Here’s the problem. There’s a ton of work to do before a new book’s release and
I’ve been avoiding all of it. So here are my Top 6 Ways I’ve been Avoiding
Promotion Work:
- WENT ON A DIET – There’s really no time to do promotion when I’m sneaking
chocolate and then yelling at myself for sneaking chocolate.
- GOT LOST IN THE NEWS – It’s a scary world out there and there’s a lot going
on. I’ve been fascinated by Brexit, presidential campaigns, insane violence, and
everything all those Late Night Comedians are saying about it. Who has time to
write a blog when I haven’t seen John Oliver’s latest video?
- GOT LOST IN SOME GOOD BOOKS – I started reading a few books, and then had to
fly through the rest of the series right away. I’m currently onRebecca Zanetti’s
Sin Brothers series. Yum! Before that I ate up Piper J. Drake’s True Hero series
(yippee about books with working dogs!). Also Katie Ruggle’s Search and Rescue
series plus Julie Ann Walker’s Deep Six series, both feature getting warm with a
dive buddy!
- WEEKEND TRIP TO NASHVILLE – Hubby and I went to Nashville to see Carrie
Underwood and others at the Grand Ole Opry. Amazing! And, I admit it, we walked
around downtown and made fun of some Confederate statues. I didn’t get a great
picture of Carrie, but here’s one of Darius Rucker. He’s great, too!
- FINISHED WRITING GRIZZLIES GONE WILD SERIES – Remember those other three
books coming out this fall? They’re all part of Kathy Lyons’ new series about
Grizzly Bear Shifters! I’ve been writing like a rabid bear making sure they’re
fun and sexy! The first one is The Bear who Loved
Me by Kathy Lyons coming out in September.
- SHIPPED MY ASSISTANT OFF TO ALASKA – Yup, that’s how awful I am. I shipped
her off to Alaska where she has very unpredictable internet and can’t bug me to
do all my blogs and stuff. And when she calls me, I pretend we have a bad
connection. Yes, I’m that terrible!

I know what you mean by procrastinating. I have 2 costumes
to get made by mid Sept and I still haven't cut them
out...Time management, nothing like deadlines to get things

I am good at procrastinating. I put off cleaning certain parts of the house till
I can't stand to be in the room...then I clean. I should do it sooner.

I have been procrastinating by lying in bed and telling myself I can take care of errands such as planting plants into the garden, calling the tree trimmer to cut down a tree, and even trying to get some of my bookcases put together for two of the rooms in the house.

For the past year, you could pretty much call me the Queen of
Procrastination. I had a Birthday earlier this year that ends in
a "0", for starters. I am also disabled with serious health
problems, so when I wake up in the morning, it's a matter of how
bad the pain is, and how capable I am to move around. After I
take my medication, and walk downstairs, it's time for coffee. If
I decide to get on the computer, I'm facing 27,000 pieces of e-
mail. That number bis correct, and I can verify it by anyone.
As soon as I delete one, two pop up in their place!! I have to
almost have the sound on mute, because it's so maddening!! I
work on it until I start to go brain dead. Then I look at the
apartment I share with my dear Husband of 30+ years. Knitting is
my other passion, besides reading books. I have had 3 large
plastic bins stacked in my kitchen/living room area for over a
year, waiting to be organized, recorded, and put away. I need to
do that with all of my yarn, which is going to be a job, if you
know anything about knitter's stash!! Then there are a few other
jobs around here that need to be done. My Husband is a few years
older than I am, and also retired, so he can't do a lot of things
that I need done as quickly as I'd like, or he's sleeping since
he doesn't feel well, which puts me at a disadvantage. He's also
the Manager of the apartments where we live, and if he needs help
with something, I give him a hand. There's always another
project that comes up to delay me from starting what I need to
do.. My Husband says I just put it off. What does he know??
He's usually napping!! Congratulations on your books. They
sound really good, and I'm looking forward to reading them.

Just got back on the computer. Had to put the laundery in the
dryer.Should have been done almost 2 hours ago. I don't know if
I actually put things off as much as I'm easily distracted. OK,
I do put some things off.But in my defense, I do have some
medical problems and I do better if I don't do a lot of work
all at once. So my hubby sees me at the computer, not the
little breaks I take to do small or partial jobs. Of course, If
I burn dinner, because I sit down for a few minutes, then I
hear about it again. I just get distracted easily so I guess
I'll have to move a chair over to the stove and maybe read
while I'm cooking. I do put off making phone calls for Dr's
appointments. But eventually they get done. Meanwhile my house
is a mess and I've read over 80 books so far this year.

I'm a professional procrastinator. I'll start some large project that I love to do (such as reading a book series) in order to avoid something I don't like to do (painting a room or some other home improvement project). I'll tell my husband that I have to finish reading the series first or I'll forget what I read previously. That usually works!
