Sheila Roberts | Fa-La-La-ing Into Christmas

InstagramYouTubefacebooktwitterblog

I have finished all my shopping, fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la

Decorating kept me hopping, fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la

All the baking's done and I can

finally, fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la,

stop and smell the Christmas cookies

Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

In case you didn't guess, that little ditty can be sung to Deck the Halls. And my Christmas wish for all of you is that you, too, can find some time now that the day is nearly upon us to stop and smell the Christmas cookies.

This is such a busy time of year for women, and we often get so caught up in making the holiday special for our loved ones that we barely get to savor the season. By the time the presents are unwrapped and the holiday dinner is consumed we're in a stupor of exhaustion. This year you have my permission to turn off the Christmas machine for just a little while, sit down, relax, and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate.

That's what I'm planning to do. And a well deserved break it will be! It's been a busy fall. I've had a lot of fun promoting THE NINE LIVES OF CHRISTMAS -- that definitely put me in a holiday mood. It also kept me on the go clear up until the middle of December. And somewhere in all that madness I finished my shopping and decorating and, finally, baking (something I deliberately left ‘til the last minute to spare my ever-expanding hips). Now we're into family mode with our biggest gathering today. But in all the fun and craziness, I want to take a little time to offer up a prayer of thanks to that babe in the manger, to remember to do my small part to help bring about peace on earth and goodwill to men (at least in my neighborhood), and to snarf down some of those Christmas cookies I've been baking. And yes, I already have my Christmas reads downloaded onto my Kindle -- I'll be starting with Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL.

What will you be reading when the holiday dust settles? I hope whatever it is, that you'll be rested and smiling when you're done! Merry Christmas to all and to all a good read.

Re: Sheila Roberts | Fa-La-La-ing Into Christmas

I have so many books downloaded on my Kindle that I don't even know what I will be reading but am going to pick out a Christmasy feel good book to read today.

I don't know if this holiday will allow me to put
my feet up. I'm still cooking, got up at 6 this
morning to start the traditions that have been in
our family for years and to begin to cook for
tomorrow. Then it is serving and cleaning up. I
don't know how I put 5 lbs on during the
holidays when I am doing more running around
than at the gym on the treadmill. May your
holiday be relaxed and filled with those you love.

I have a little reading to do to for my knitting group, then I can look at my TBR list, and get into some REAL reading!! It looks like I have to add your book to my list as well. I'm so glad you took the time to drop in today and add a little fun to the mix. I loved your blog, and I'm sure I'll love your book. The cover is so sweet, and so well done!! Have a very Merry Christmas, and s wonderful New Year!! When I have my hot chocolate, I'll think of you, and lift my mug in toast to you!!

Our family get together is next weekend, so I am enjoying all the Christmas movies on TV and reading all the articles and blogs. My panic will set in in a few days. MERRY CHRISTMAS to all:)

I have a lot of reading to do. So many people know I love to read, so the books keep coming in. I know I will be getting more on Christmas. That is always so exciting to see what new reads others have given me. I want to wish Everyone a Very Merry Christmas.

I know that I will have lots of books to read on Christmas day
as the husband bought me at least 5 off my wish list :D

"Little Black Dress" by Susan McBride will be my next read. Looking forward to finding the time as I joined a gym this month.

Well, Christmas day is coming to a close. It has been a nice day and I am grateful for the kind deeds of friends and family and looking forward to a nice New Year. I wish you the same.
