Maggie Mae Gallagher | Remember Me Playlist

bookbubtwittergoodreadsfacebook

Music. It transcends time, harkens us back to moments in our lives, both the
good and bad, just by a few beats or stanzas from our favorite song. Music has
always been something that inspires my creativity. I actually have a bachelor’s
degree in music, so it was not a far leap when I began writing novels for music
to play a huge part in my inspiration.

Often times, music will help me plot (as much as this pantster is willing to plot) so that I understand the overarching theme of the book. A simple song will make the image of an important scene blossom in my mind that is often one of the major turning points for the book. It helps provide me with insights into my character’s motivations. In fact, the song Remember Me by Josh Groban is where the kernel of the idea for this book was born. That’s typically the way creativity happens for me. Even my urban fantasy series The Cantati Chronicles came out of the song A Dustland Fairytale by The Killers. So it should come as no surprise that by the time I finish a novel, I have a playlist that actually follows the storyline of the book. In REMEMBER ME my heroine and hero are forced to reconcile that this might not be the only lifetime they have loved each other. If you love music as much as I do, take a listen to the REMEMBER ME Playlist.

REMEMBER ME Playlist

  1. Wake Up by Arcade Fire

  7. Waiting for the End by Linkin Park

About Maggie Mae Gallagher

Bestselling Author Maggie Mae Gallagher doesn’t remember a time when she wasn’t
writing. When she was a kid she acted out her favorite scenes, only better, with
her brother and cousin. As a teenager, she wrote reams of poetry, but realized
her true love lay with creating characters and stories. A former music and
history major, Maggie is a total geek at her core. When she is not writing, she
adores attending the latest comic con or spending time with her family. She
lives in St. Louis, Missouri, with her two furry felines.

Re: Maggie Mae Gallagher | Remember Me Playlist

I wish I was attentive enough to make a playlist for different events in my life, but alas, I don't have the attention span to put one together before my mind wanders off into another topic.

Listening to some playlists by authors has been very
interesting. Music I would never have heard otherwise because I
usually listen to jazz.

I make a new playlist at least once a month, and it tends to
have songs in it that fit for that month. If I have a concert
coming up, I'll put that on it. If I stumble upon a song in a
movie, show, book, or anything else, that goes on it too. It's
cool to go back through them, and to relive some of those
memories.

that Love can conquer all time and space. Congrats on your
new book: REMEMBER ME. I would love to win and read it this
year. I love the book cover too! Thank You so much. Cecilia

I don't usually have a playlist. I just put 5 cd's in and hit
play, then randam, then play again. I just keep switching them
every so oftenl

I have playlists for my various moods. They are fun to put together and can
add so much. I have sixties rock songs for my walking playlist, soft jazz for
evening listening, and country tunes for gardening!

I keep it simple. I love to read, so I keep a list of books I want to purchase. I've never thought about a playlist of music.
(Anna Speed 11:47am April 13, 2015)

I don't make playlist at all
(Angela Parrish 4:35pm April 13, 2015)

Even though I don't make playlists, it is interesting to see what music inspires a writer. Thanks for sharing.
