G.R. Holton The Takeover of Asivia

The Asivians were a peace loving race that lived on the third planet in the Sulaxi galaxy. They were humanoid with the exception that they had four arms and ten fingers on each hand. This allowed them to gather the getrinous they grew. Anyone that visited the planet was taken in by its beauty. The mountains glowed of golden trees and the blue getrinous could be seen for miles. Asivia was also fruitful due to its fertile soils. The people of Asivia lived a very peaceful lifestyle.

The Asivians developed a highly sensitive telepathic ability, so that when they needed something done it was faster to use the power, rather than try to find the person that was needed. The worker would just send out the signal and they would receive an answer. Over time the Asivians also developed a shield that encompassed their bodies, so that they could not be hurt by electrical discharges or equipment that might fall upon them. The Asivians were very content with their lives, too bad that would not last forever. Their peace lasted for many eons, but that all ended with the Corsevs, from the sixth planet in the galaxy. The Corsevs were also a peaceful race, but that changed when their ruler died and a new ruler took his place. The ruler, King Craigu, was an evil and greedy king. He was known as the most ruthless man in all of Corsev. He convinced all his people that as Corsevs they should no longer work their own farms when it could easily take what was required from the Asivians, in fact, they could get whatever was wanted from anyone in the galaxy. The Corsevs quickly became war-like creatures attacking any village or planet that they could gain anything from.

Craigu though had an issue with the Asivians in particular. It seemed that when he had tried to overthrow the government there when he was younger. It did not work and they captured him and placed him in prison until one night he escaped and went to Corsev. So King Craigu planned an all-out invasion of the planet Asivia. He gathered his troops and gave them a choice, attack or die. All his men really had no choice. Each and every one of them had to stay with him for this invasion. In addition to that, he had amassed a great army of hoodlums and pirates that would attack trade vessels coming to and from Asivia. Their goal was not only to take all the getrinous that the Asivians had stored, but to force them to farm it for them.

"We shall overtake the people of Asivia and pillage all the getrinous that we can store on our ships. We will take over their government and make them slaves to our cause. Our people will never have to farm again!" yelled Craigu.

The people screamed out support to Craigu's orders, and all the pilots headed to their fighters while the ground forces boarded transport ships. Since the planets were only hours apart, it did not take them long to reach Asivia.

Upon landing on Asivia, they easily took what they came for and put the government officials in prison. The Asivians had no defense that could stop the invasion, so they are easily turned into slaves. They harvested all the getrinous that was in the fields and filled the Corsev transports.

Things continued on like this for many years. That was until a handful of Asivians decided that this was not the way to live. They met in secret and trained together to try to overthrow Craigu. During training, the Asivians developed their personal shields as a defensive mechanism against the laser pistols of the Corsevs.  But their shields were still not strong enough against their more powerful rifles and cannons.

Invesia, leader of the Asivians made an announcement to all the people through their telepathic connectivity. This announcement called for the people to wait until they could get help to take their planet back. He informed them that there was one defense against the incoming ships, if they could get someone to enter the Great Chambers which were located in the sacred halls on Mount Stantus. It was a master defense grid that would engulf the entire planet keeping everyone out without proper documentation. The problem was that it was being heavily guarded by the Corsevs.

The rest of the Asivians could not make any moves against the Corsevs. They worked their farms and lived on the meager staples that the Corsevs allowed them to keep from their crops. The handful of Asivian fighters developed a weapon of their own. It was a pulse rifle that would fire a burst of photo-electric energy that could knock out a Corsevian, but it would not kill them, this was because it was against their morals. They could not kill a Corsev, but they could make life very tough on them.

It was not long before a hero arose amongst the Asivian people. His name was Julosus. He wasn't from Asivia, but was actually from Corsev. Juloses's mother and three siblings had left the tyranny of Craigu's reign after his father was killed during a raid on their village. Since he was Corsevian, he was able to easily fit in and get to their weapons and uniforms. He worked out every day and swore that Craigu would pay for killing his father someday. This day was soon in coming.

One morning Julosus dressed in the Corsev uniform and took the weapon that he had stolen from an unknowing Corsev guard. He knew that if he could get to Craigu and kill him, there would be no one to lead them in their attacks and the oppression would be over. Julosus went out and found his Asivian friends to get their assistance and their names were Jesous, Telen, and Octoma. He went into the city and gathered his friends in a location which he knew they would not be found by the Corsev guards. All four of them were ready for what had to be done. The three Asivians would cause a diversion in the middle of the city square while Julosus went to take out Craigu. They also got a few of their friends that did not know about Julosus to help them create the diversion. They wanted them to believe that it was all just a protest. The four gallant men and got into position. The men went to the center of town and were joined by a dozen others. They started to yell at the guards. This caused enough of a commotion to get the guards away from the main building.

Once they were out of position, Julosus made his way to the main building that Craigu stayed in. He quietly took out the guards at the back door of the building and made his way slowly past some of the guards that walked around as he was dressed as a Corsevian soldier.

Once at the main hall Julosus located the great chamber where Craigu resided. He cracked open the door and looked to see where everyone was standing. He counted that there are four guards standing around protecting Craigu. But that didn't matter, Julosus had been practicing since he was six years old and he was now twenty-five. He was an expert shot and he knew he could take them out quickly. Just then another guard walked down the hallway.

"You there, what are you doing?" the guard asked.

"I am here to take watch." said Julosus.

"Okay, just checking." replied the Guard as he continued to walk down the hallway.

Once the guard was completely out of sight, Julosus opened the door and quickly fired upon the guards and took them out with six shots. He took one of their rifles and used it to jam the doors closed. Craigu had no place to go. Craigu grabbed for his communicator, but Julosus with one shot blew the device right out of his hand.

Julosus walked right up to Craigu.

"Craigu, you don't remember me because I was a child back then. Nineteen years ago, you and your band of pirates came into the village of Tenakes and killed my father. Now it is time for you to go to Hortes, instead of meeting him in Selesa." said Julosus.

"Wait... wait... I can make you rich beyond your dreams. You and your family will want for nothing... we can talk about this. I will make you my second in command." cried Craigu.

"You have nothing I want Craigu. I only want your head on a platter, but I will settle for you going to Horesees." says Julosus.

Just as he finished saying what he came to say, he pulled his weapon up and fired. He shot Craigu in the head, but all the shooting has aroused some of the guards that had walked outside the great chamber. Just as Craigu fell to the ground, the guards' barged in. Three large guards come through the door and they met the same fate as the guards that were inside. Julosus then hurriedly left the building through a back window and went directly to where Invesia lived to tell him the great news.

"Invesia, my name is Julosus. I may be a Corsev, but my family has lived here almost all my life after Craigu killed my father. Craigu is now dead. Contact all your men and inform them that the planet is theirs again." said Julosus.

"Are you sure?" asked Invesia.

"Yes Sir, I am sure. I am the one who has killed him and some of his henchmen in the process." Julosus replied.

"That is news we have been waiting for since Craigu took over. You shall be rewarded beyond your wildest dreams. You and your family will want for nothing. I shall go to the Great Chamber and turn on our defense shield." replied Invesia.

It did not take long for the people of the planet to be told what has happened and slowly the Corsevs left the planet. The people celebrated for days and then returned to their peaceful lives. They regained their planet all because of one young hero who needed to avenge his father and in turn give a planet back their prosperity.
