April Is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

I had no idea. I thought April was about tulips and bunnies. Jim Hines let me know otherwise.

Support Rape Awareness

Support rape crisis centers and enter to win an Advance Copy of Red Hood’s Revenge, by Jim C. Hines.

Jim is holding a non-raffle to raise money for rape crisis centers. He explains why it's not-a-raffle on his page. Whether you donate to the Rape Abuse Incest National Network or any rape center of your choice, or just email him, you have a chance to win an autographed advance review copy of RED HOOD’S REVENGE, the next novel in the Princess series. He's accepting names for the non-raffle through April 16th.

This is one author's efforts to help. I hope you will join him.

Re: April Is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

I had no idea either. Thanks for letting us know Heidi. What this author is doing is a great way of bringing awareness.

Sexual assault is a very dreadful act and any help we can provide for its victims is helpful. Having a special month to make us all aware of the overly-prominent crime is welcomed.
(Gladys Paradowski 9:59pm April 11, 2010)

Rape and molestation are both crimes
that point a finger back at the victim.
I don't know what has to be done to
change that, but it is way past time for
that to happen. Both males and
females are victims and age is not a
factor. Kudos to Jim Hines for his
efforts.

Thanks for the great work. I have 5 grandchildren & I would hate for this to happen to them or anyone else. All of us should be very aware. Thanks again

I work in very close confines with agencies that work to prevent these heinous acts... this is a lifelong crusade for me. I work to prevent others from becoming victims.

Thanks Heidi for sharing this and thanks to Jim Hines for his involvement in this worthy cause.

I have been spreading the word about this month on Facebook and Twitter. Love to see people getting involved!
(Lisa Mason 4:12pm April 14, 2010)

That was always one of my prayers especially since I sometimes traveled alone: never to be raped. I haven't been, though it was close at times. I was new to this special time, too.
