Over the last week and for the rest of this week, the Reviewers of Fresh Fiction will be sharing
some of our favorite reads in various genres. We hope you’ll take another look at these titles,
and maybe share your favorites in the comments. We’ll have a different genre featured each
day! Be sure to check the blog to see what we’ve already covered.
Today, on the last day of our “Favorites” posts, we’re featuring some of our favorite “wildcard”
picks - books that we felt didn’t fit into one broad category, one that wasn’t specifically called
out, or we thought deserved an extra look! So take a look at our last post of favorite books of
2018.
Cheers to more great reads in 2019! Happy New Year!

About several African American women who were mathematicians for NASA, something I never
knew about, and I enjoyed reading the progress that was made for women and women of
colour over the years.

Recent history, a little bit of magic (or is it?), science, coincidence, family drama... these are
just a few of the things that are tackled in this book, and it was the most unique book I read in
2018, as well as one of the first I read this year. It's a book that I think about often, and one
that I may not recommend a ton, but when I do, it's emphatically!

Sometimes books preach revenge, but this one took an unusual path of preaching to simply
move on and not waste life.

A paranormal contemporary gothic - a fabulous "deal with the devil" erotica.

I loved how deep the story went and how one is never the same after reading it.

The ultimate Joker book, great artwork, and a wonderfully character-driven story.

A ton of plot twists, super sexy, and a storyline with many secrets!

I love how the author uses different people and approaches to tell the story. Kind of like a
vampire version of World War Z. This is THE book vampire fans have been waiting for!

Stuart Woods is at it again. Stone Barrington will steal your heart and the locales are always so
much fun!
