I visit an Author's website to see if there are any books of theirs that I may have missed. I also like to learn about their background. I find it interesting, since some of them lead fascinating lives outside of the literary world. I don't always check out the bonus area of the website. It depends on how much time I have on that particular day and other factors. As far as winning goes, I have won in the past and won a gift certificate as well as a personalized book, which I cherish. I do like the personalized books a lot, and in this economy, the gift cards help out a lot, too!! I'm drawn to the cover of your book, as well as to the plot, and can't wait to read it.

I visit author's websites to see what they are writing now with excerpts, what's coming next and quite often their references to other authors that might interest us. I also enjoy their daily blogs full of little tidbits about their families and their lives. And also as a bonus, the unexpected winnings of books.

I really enjoy visiting an author's website mostly to discover more about them.
It's great to find out what other books they have written and simply what
makes them tick. It's neat to find out the little extras as the reader can then
understand a little more about what an author writes. The backgrounds of
authors would amaze many readers. Many have had very lucrative careers
before coming an author. I love to read what motivated an author to begin
writing. Before I retired, I would only find time to grab a book and read it
never taking much time to find out about this wonderful person that wrote the
book that gave me so much pleasure. Now, I have the time and have become
quite good friends with several authors. Yes, I have won several author
giveaways and each time it has thrilled me. I love to win a copy of an author's
book. Each is a treasure to me!

I'm excited to see you have a contest for a jigsaw puzzle at your website.
Other than reading, jigsaw puzzles are my passion. My husband and I love to
watch BBC Acorn Media mystery CDs and I'm always working a puzzle at the
same time. Can't just be idle you know!

Thank you for sharing this giveaway. I'm really looking forward to reading
"One Book in the Grave." I hope there will be something about the repair of
antique books as well. I would love to know the steps into how this is done.

I visit different author's websites all the time. I like receiving their newsletters
and blogs too. I visit them for varying reasons. Sometimes it's to check the
order of books in a series, or to see what new books they have coming up
(and find out what their ISBN numbers will be!) I like to read the information
authors post about their family lives, and about how they came up with their
characters, etc.
I also like entering contests on author websites and blogs. I have won books
from them before, and I always get happy when I get a "You're the winner" e-
mail! I always read the books I receive, and then I pass them along to
someone else who can read and enjoy them as well. I also always try to post
a review of the book on the paperback website I belong to for other readers.

Connie, your post made me smile big time! I think you're going to love ONE BOOK IN THE GRAVE because YES! there are some details on how antique books are repaired. I've taken bookbinding classes for years as a hobby, and my love for the book arts is what led me to start this series. I get comments frequently from readers who love learning something new, while enjoying a true whodunit.

My family is actually pretty similar to Brooklyn's family in the Bibliophile Mystery series. If you've read any of the books, that will tell you something about me! I love Cozy Mysteries and have One Book In The Grave on my wish list. I do visit authors blogs and enter giveaways and have won a number of books in the last few yrs. The latest was 3 Cozies, Plan Bee, Royal Pains and It Takes A Witch a Bookin' With Bingo blog. I am looking forward to receiving and reading.

When I visit author websites I'm often looking to see what books are coming out next. Sometimes I'm looking to see what older titles I can look for (to find the books from a series that I started in the middle or at the end), or just to find any other books the author wrote. I like to look at any bonus content on the site.

What a nice post. If I love a book/author all of my friends (and even people I
see at work with books in their hands) hear about it. I love getting people
hooked on authors I enjoy.
I also stop by my favorite authors web pages, it is a good way to keep up to
date with new releases and get extra tid bits on new and old books. I love it
when I can find deleted scenes or pictures that inspired the author.

Can't disagree with the previous posts. I'm curious to know what makes an author tick as well read excerpts of their books. Been fortunate to win books from authors. My latest win was Mary Jane Clark's "The Look of Love." Receiving books in the mail is a real treat!

I visit author sites mostly to confirm when their next book is coming out and
what it's going to be. And if I'm lucky, theirs a bonus short story or an excerpt to
tide me over:) I've been fortunate to win several author contests for their books!
It was the best feeling to get a book in the mail from a favorite author, and they
even took the time to sign it:D

I go to author's websites to learn more about their books, and hopefully find excerpts to read, which, in turn, usually lead to my buying the book(s). I love finding out more information about the books, especially when it's a series. Learning the backstory, so to speak, just makes me want to purchase more of them!

Yes, I have also won author contests, and gotten a variety of things, but mostly books, which given my budget right now, are the best things! I have also won a Greek Calendar from Tony Carrington, along with a cookbook from another author here on Fresh Fiction ("The Best Of Kentucky" I believe it was. Haven't had a chance to make anything out of it yet, but that will happen, believe me!!).

And let me say, as the daughter of not one, but TWO librarians, and having been a librarian myself, this series of books definitely pushes all the right buttons with me!!

Contests where you have to answer questions by reading the website and excerpts are fun.

I am new to the computer but a forever fan of books. I have read the first four books in your Bibliophile series and loved them. The topic was so interesting that I actually contacted our community college to see if they offered any courses in it. Too my disappointment, they do not. The covers on your books are so beautiful that I have no trouble imagining them in leather. It's nice to pick up a book that you can lose yourself in,{and sometimes we are actually able to FIND ourselves}between those covers. Thanks for good reading.
