1--What is the title of your latest release?

SECRET ALASKAN HIDEAWAY

2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?

When Dr. McKenzie Taylor witnesses a car plunge off a bridge into a river and saves a mysterious man with no memory, can she shelter and help heal him until his memory returns?  And, when it’s apparent someone is trying to kill him, she realizes in addition to keeping his safe, she needs to protect her own, vulnerable heart.

3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?

I just love Alaska and have often wished I could live there.  I’ve been writing a lot of books set in Texas, and Alaska is about as far away in the United States that I could get.

4--Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?

Yes!  Not only is she brilliant, but compassionate.  She has a big heart and I like her.

5--What are three words that describe your hero?

Handsome, mysterious, and sexy.  Plus, he can cook!

6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?

I researched remote Alaskan villages and that was fascinating.

7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?

Both.  Usually, when I start writing for the day, I read over what I’ve written the previous day and make changes as needed.

8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?

Funny that you ask this since the hero of this book is a chef!  My absolute favorite is Mexican food.  Give me all the chips and salsa, enchiladas, and margaritas, lol!

9--Describe your writing space/office!

I have a dedicated office with bookshelves on two walls and a desk and computer and printer.  I do my editing and writing-related work here.  But the actual writing is done on a laptop, sitting in my recliner.

10--Who is an author you admire?

Oh, there are SO many.  Right now, I’m reading everything Sonali Dev has written.

11--Is there a book that changed your life?

Again, since I’m an avid reader and have always been, there are so many.  Too many to list.

12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)

The Call!  I’ve published a lot of books over the years and the call came in 1996 for my very first book.  I was at my day job at the time with Nationwide Insurance and the editor called me to offer for Desert Fire.  I was in shock and delighted all at once.  Since then, there have been nearly 70 published books (some have 2023 release dates.)

13--What’s your favorite genre to read?

Romance, of course.  I also read Fantasy.

14--What’s your favorite movie?

SKIP

15--What is your favorite season?

The time right before Thanksgiving through Christmas.  I love cooking and decorating and making memories with family.

16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?

With dinner at a restaurant of my choosing.  And my daughter and I often go shopping before.

17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?

SKIP

18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?

Mexican food.  Oh yum.

19--What do you do when you have free time?

I walk every day and try to lift weights 3-4 times a week.  I also volunteer with a local Boxer dog rescue.

20--What can readers expect from you next?

For 2023 I have these releases scheduled:

Secret Alaskan Hideaway - Harlequin Romantic Suspense - January 2023

Saved by the Texas Cowboy - Harlequin Romantic Suspense - May 2023

Colton's Body of Proof – Harlequin Romantic Suspense - April 2023

Missing in Texas – Harlequin Romantic Suspense - September 2023

And I’m currently working on another Harlequin Romantic Suspense set in the same fictional town of Blake, Alaska where Secret Alaskan Hideway is set.  It will be out in 2024.
