Fresh Fiction is proud to welcome Avery Flynn as she chats
with us about her Sweet Salvation Brewery contemporary romance series!
Thanks so much for having me!
Your new Sweet Salvation Brewery contemporary romance series is set mainly
against the backdrop of family-owned brewery in a small Southern town. What drew
you to use a brewery as a major locale for this series?
Confession time, I’m kind of a beer snob and I love craft brews so … I combined
my love of beer and my love of romance and called it research. Being a romance
writer: It’s a horrible no-good life. LOL :)
I loved reading Miranda Sweet’s story in ENEMIES ON TAP, and I’m
looking forward to reading Miranda’s sisters’ stories in the books to come. Can
you tell us which Sweet sister will be brewing up trouble in the next series
installment?
Oh yes! Natalie is up next in HOLLYWOOD ON TAP (did someone say movie
star next door, oh yes some hot brewmaster has been keeping secrets from the
Sweet sisters). That will be out in mid October and the third book in the
series, TROUBLE ON TAP, features youngest sister Olivia and an ex-Marine
turned small town police chief. That book will be out in November - nothing like
something a little smexy to go with your Thanksgiving turkey. :)
In addition to your heroes and heroines, there is a great cast of characters
populating the town of Salvation, Virginia. (My personal favorite is the sassy
diner owner with the winning sweet tea and pecan pie recipes.) Who are some of
your favorite secondary characters to write in this series?
Oh Ruby Sue is awesome. I just love a snarky, slightly grumpy octogenarian. She
says what she thinks no matter what. Another secondary character I love is Hud.
He is a keeper and I can’t wait to share his story someday.
Since this series features a brewery, I can probably guess the answer to this
question, but I have to know: After a long day of writing, what drink do you
reach for to cool off and relax?
Hmmmm…. a beer. :) My current obsession is Anchor Brewing from out in Washington
state, but I highly recommend Lost Rhino (local to my area) too. They let me
tour their brewery and it was fascinating.
Fresh Fiction Readers want to know: When you aren’t writing, what do you like
to read?
Everything! I go fangirl crazy over Lori Foster. Seriously. I’m too chicken to
go to her reader get together because I’m afraid I would make a total idiot of
myself. Check that. I KNOW I would make a total fangirl idiot of myself.
Thanks again to Avery for joining us! Readers, are you thirsty yet? Buy your

Enemies
What’s a girl to do when the only person who can help her is the man who
betrayed her? After years away, Miranda returns to Salvation, Virginia to save
her family’s brewery, but her fate is in the hands of her first lover turned
enemy, Logan Martin.
Lovers
Logan, Salvation’s de facto prince, can’t believe his luck when the woman who
smashed his heart to smithereens walks into his bank asking for his help. What
she doesn’t know is he needs the land her brewery is on. When she tempts him
with a bet—if she wins, he gives her the loan; if he wins, she forfeits the
land—he knows it’s a sure thing.
An Irresistible Combination
But soon it’s a battle between their attraction for each other and their
determination to win, and it’s in each other’s arms that they realize there
might be more at stake now than the bet. With the town dead set against the
Sweet Salvation Brewery’s success, Logan has to choose between what’s expected
of him and what he really wants—even if helping Miranda means she’ll run out of
his life once again.
