When Hubby and I celebrated our first Valentines together as a married couple,
our son was 4 months old and he was about to deploy to Iraq.
He had me convinced I was getting a treadmill for Valentines day (which he had
to go to Savannah to get and I was excited because I actually wanted one). He
came back empty handed and his buddy who was with him told me we're sorry
Jeannie it will be delivered tomorrow. Well later that night hubby set me up
with a hot bubble bath and told me to relax and not worry he had "the baby"...
I get out of the tub and go to the bedroom and there is a white teddy bear on
the bed... I was so excited I ran and thanked him... Didn't actually pick up the
bear till Hubby came with me to "look" at it as "he didn't get me a teddy
bear"... Well low and behold on the wrist of that teddy bear was a beautiful
ruby and diamond bracelet.
Hubby said, you didn't think I was actually going to get you a treadmill did
you? It a huge surprise as I never expected it and my gift to him was card with
phone cards in so he could call home.
Now after almost 15 years together and 10 years of marriage we spend our
valentines with our boys doing family stuff and when we do get a date night he
still makes me feel special.
