Lori Foster | Run the Risk Blog Tour
October 16, 2013
Lori Foster stopped by today to talk about her new series and upcoming book. So
let's get to it, shall we?
Tell us some background and how you came up with the idea for your new series
It's pretty weird how the process works for me. I almost always see a scene
first, and in this case, the scene was a hunky male neighbor putting the moves
on a female neighbor because she had a secret that he needed to know. When I
started writing, I was unsure what the secret might be, why the heroine was
keeping the secret, and why the hero needed it. See, very weird!
I've always been drawn to those stories where the male protagonist gets himself
into deep trouble - under the best of intentions - and then has to find a way to
regain the heroine's trust. Good examples are LOVING EVANGELINE, by Linda
Howard, or SCANDAL, by
Amanda Quick. Most of the wonderful books by Kresley
I love it when the characters are honorable, but are forced to do dishonorable
Nothing can shake a cop from pursuing justice-except a beautiful witness marked
for death, in New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster's sexy new series...
When Detective Logan Riske goes undercover to find Pepper Yates, a potential
link to his best friend's unsolved murder, he vows to gain her cooperation by
any means necessary. But the elusive beauty is more suspicious-and in far more
danger-than he expected. And the last thing Logan needs is to start caring for
Pepper has spent years dodging the corrupt club owner who will stop at nothing
to keep her silenced. She can trust no one, not even the handsome new
"construction worker" who's moved in next door. The heat between them is
undeniable. But will surrendering to passion bring her the safety she so
desires-or will her feelings for Logan draw them both into a killer's

only thing diminutive about bestselling novelist Lori Foster is her size. At
5'3," she's not exactly tiny, but the only family members she towers over these
days are her toddler grandson and Tootsie, their Chihuahua, their 23 pound cat,
Liger, Liger's brother Grim, and Kiki, a rescue cat. Everything else she does
is supersized, from her commitment to having her work published and the
standards she has set for her writing, to her philanthropy, love of family and
her joy in helping others. Even her characters are larger-than-life—alpha men
and women who break boundaries and bring passion to everything they do, whether
it's gunning down the bad guys, fighting for the underdog or making love.
Lori's mighty imposing herself, undoubtedly possessed of more than her share of
alpha traits and energy. She refused to give up on her desire to see her work in
print. She completed ten novels before her first book, IMPETUOUS, was sold. It
was published in 1996. Since then, she's maintained a pace that might have
felled a lesser person, often writing six or more romance novels every year.
Having cracked national bestseller lists with JAMIE in 2005, there's been no
stopping her. In the past six years, her novels, and anthologies featuring her
work, have claimed a combined 115 weeks on The New York Times, USA Today and
Publishers Weekly bestseller lists. HARD TO HANDLE reached the number two spot
on the New York Times' list. She's the recipient of the RT Book Reviews Career
Achievement Award for both Contemporary Romance and Series Romantic Fantasy.

I love novels where the hero and the girl both want to deny
their feeling for each other. It makes for a great story to
see if one or both will give in to love.

You had me at hunk. The ripped abs on your cover belong to a
guy sure of himself, but attracts trouble with a capital "T".
