Hello dear readers and thank you for joining me on Fresh Fiction. Today I’d like to introduce you to the five siblings at Calhouns Customs Garage. Nurturing this family to life on the page has been an exciting and frustrating journey. They’re a sexy, moody, complicated and daring bunch. Poor dad, Marty, had his hands full raising them. But here they are, all grown up. He has one last parental responsibility as Parkinson’s Disease begins to steal his independence.
Ex-Nascar race king, Marty Calhoun, has built a legacy for his family, and now it’s time to round them up and bring them home to claim it. Each of his five children have hearts in need of overhauling. They all have hard lessons to learn. The one thing Marty wants most is to see his children find happiness and love at Calhoun Customs Garage.
- Chase
Chase stars in book 1, Overdrive. He’s the eldest. This hero had to grow up fast. With five kids under ten and having lost his wife in childbirth, Marty needed help. Chase stepped up to the plate, earning himself the nickname of ‘Mother’. He cares for his siblings, watches over them, and runs the family garage with his father. But who takes care of Chase? Well, no one. At least until he finds the beautiful Charlie hiding in the attic at the garage.
- Trinity
Trinity is the youngest Calhoun in book 2, Fast Lane. Racing is in her blood in the same way it was in her father’s. But it’s time to come home to the family as her father battles with Parkinson’s. She slips right back into the family business, finishing off the custom car projects her father has lined up. But racing is in her blood and she’s lured back to risking her life on the hot rod drag strips outside of town. Cue the hero, Reece. He doesn’t like what she does, but he can’t stay away from the woman who’s claiming his heart.
- Mason
Am I allowed to pick favorites? I had fun with Mason’s character in book 3, Burnout. He’s moody, tortured, guilty, angry. Responsible for his brother Mitch’s death in a road accident, I had to transform him from a broken man into a whole one again. Boy, did he present me with a challenge. But not as big a challenge as his ex-girlfriend Paige presented for him. Coming home meant she had to confront the reason she ran in the first place.
- Carter
Carter is Grace’s twin. He’s the cowboy rancher in the family. Smart, funny, uncomplicated, happy running his guest ranch and entertaining tourists while his family of revheads run the garage. But we can’t leave him all alone out there for long, right? Will Doctor Carmen be the girl for him?
- Grace
Last, but definitely not least, is Grace. After Mitch’s death and a fallout with her family, she goes solo, burying herself in running her Harley Davidson touring company. She hasn’t been back to the garage in six years. But with her dad ill and Mother Chase urging her to come home, she has to re-evaluate the meaning of family and forgiveness. Grace needs a hero to help her through it. Who will be the right one for her, and will she stay? That’s up to you, dear readers.
