Hi! I’m Deb Marlowe, USA Today Bestselling Author of Regency Historical Romance. And now I am also D. M. Marlowe, author of Young Adult Fantasy Adventure. Yes—I have multiple personalities. And yes—this is a good thing. As the news of my new pseudonym has begun to get around, I’ve had to reassure some of my longtime readers that I am NOT abandoning Historical Romance or my current Half Moon House series. (The answer to my most asked question is—Yes! Hestia Wright will be getting her own book!) Instead, I’ll be writing in both genres—and I have to share with you—I’ve found several advantages to the new system. 1. My kids can finally read my books! This has been a big deal for me. I cultivated two great readers—and now my Youngest is my First Reader and biggest fan of the Eye of the Ninja Chronicles. This makes my heart happy. :-) 2. Jumping genres is like cleansing my palate. I find that when I come back to a series after a break, I feel fresh and energized and I’m writing more. Yay! 3. All the lovely new research. Yes, I’m a bona fide Research Junkie. You almost have to be in order to write Regency Romance. I can talk Regency society, history, politics, fashion, and architecture until the cows come home. And now I’m so enjoying learning about completely new things—like Japanese folklore, parkour, Ninja culture, Japanese paper-making —and that’s just naming a few! 4. Writing something new is scary—and exhilarating! I’m stretching my writing muscles and loving it! Yes, Mei is involved in a romantic type of relationship throughout the series, but it is a different, gentler sort of dynamic than my Regency folks engage in. And I’m loving the fact that I get to really explore with an adventurous, kick-butt heroine who gets tangled up in all sorts of new battles and adventures—but also gets to show her tender, good- hearted side. 5. The chance to ‘meet’ a whole new group of readers! I LOVE talking with my street team, newsletter folks, FB friends, Tweeps and other regular readers. I can’t wait to connect with a whole new group of folks interested in my new passions!

About D. M. Marlowe

EYE OF THE
NINJA

About EYE OF THE NINJA

Blink—and you’ll miss her. Mei Barrett has been hiding all of her life. Raised in solitude by her beloved father, she’s been trained to fight, to adapt, to defend. She couldn’t prevent his death, however, when it comes at the hands of a mysterious creature straight out of legend. She could only run—and learn how to hide in plain sight. For four long years Mei has lived alone on the fringes of a society still recovering from the devastation of quakes and disasters along the infamous Ring of Fire. Mei’s concerns are more immediate however. She must hide her eyes and their despised mutation, and she must stay one step ahead of the strange wind demon that continues to hunt her. Detection was inevitable. But Mei begins to make some discoveries of her own. For it seems that her old enemy is not the only mythical creature on the loose. Nor is she the only one fighting them. And perhaps her own tragedies are not as far removed from those the world is facing, after all.

Re: Deb Marlowe | When a Split Personality is a Good Thing

not really .

I have many things that could be considered "split-
personality":

I'm a male and I read romance novels.
I love men's and women's sports.

This looks like a really good book!!
(Beverly Ross 12:28pm October 1, 2015)

(Michelle Lilly 2:36pm October 1, 2015)

I would to read the book
(Tamara Lawson 11:10pm October 1, 2015)

I love reading and football. Two completely different
things...well unless I'm reading sports romance. Those can be
fun!

Sometimes I love to be around people and sometimes I don't . At times I just want to be alone . I guess it all depends on my mood and how the day started out .

Hmmm not really sure if it's a split personality but I
get bored real easily so when reading I have to mix it up
from Historical to Paranormal and Sweet to Erotica or it
starts feeling stale. I also could be the life of the
party or on my own little journey in my head. My friends
would some times joke that I was bi-polar but I didn't
get depressed I just needed alone quite time to cleanse
myself to go be the crazy funny person again :)

Ohh I also forgot to say that I am very excited you are
writing YA because my daughters and I read books together
and even my 22yr old still loves YA and hasn't really
crossed over into adult books yet.

I am pretty single minded about things I do and enjoy, but I do have a rather macabre sense of humor--does that count?
(Michael Burkhead 5:25pm October 2, 2015)

books and vampires
(Ann Unger 6:21pm October 2, 2015)

Nope. Nothing makes it a split personality. Love reading
and enjoy bowling. Both I can do in air conditioning which
is important here in South Florida
(Chris Roberts 7:12pm October 2, 2015)

Nothing comes to mind, but chances are.
