Blink—and you’ll miss her.

Mei Barrett has been hiding all of her life. Raised in solitude by her beloved father, she’s been trained to fight, to adapt, to defend. She couldn’t prevent his death, however, when it comes at the hands of a mysterious creature straight out of legend. She could only run—and learn how to hide in plain sight.

For four long years Mei has lived alone on the fringes of a society still recovering from the devastation of quakes and disasters along the infamous Ring of Fire. Mei’s concerns are more immediate however. She must hide her eyes and their despised mutation, and she must stay one step ahead of the strange wind demon that continues to hunt her.

Detection was inevitable. But Mei begins to make some discoveries of her own. For it seems that her old enemy is not the only mythical creature on the loose. Nor is she the only one fighting them.

And perhaps her own tragedies are not as far removed from those the world is facing, after all.

I have many things that could be considered "split-
personality":

I'm a male and I read romance novels.
I love men's and women's sports.

I love reading and football. Two completely different
things...well unless I'm reading sports romance. Those can be
fun!

Sometimes I love to be around people and sometimes I don't . At times I just want to be alone . I guess it all depends on my mood and how the day started out .

Hmmm not really sure if it's a split personality but I
get bored real easily so when reading I have to mix it up
from Historical to Paranormal and Sweet to Erotica or it
starts feeling stale. I also could be the life of the
party or on my own little journey in my head. My friends
would some times joke that I was bi-polar but I didn't
get depressed I just needed alone quite time to cleanse
myself to go be the crazy funny person again :)

Ohh I also forgot to say that I am very excited you are
writing YA because my daughters and I read books together
and even my 22yr old still loves YA and hasn't really
crossed over into adult books yet.

I am pretty single minded about things I do and enjoy, but I do have a rather macabre sense of humor--does that count?

books and vampires

Nope. Nothing makes it a split personality. Love reading
and enjoy bowling. Both I can do in air conditioning which
is important here in South Florida

Nothing comes to mind, but chances are.
