Did you ever secretly fantasize that you had magical powers? I must confess that
I have always have. As a very young girl I read the Magic Faraway Tree and
yearned to discover a secret world. For years I searched wardrobes for Narnia.
I was most disgusted when built-in wardrobes came into style. Harry Potter came
along and I read the series to my children and loved it every bit as much as
they did. So, when my paranormal crazy daughter (probably my fault) and I were
chatting one day, I asked the question. "How would you feel if you woke up on
your 16th birthday and found you'd morphed into a vampire?"
And Morven Smith was born.
So a question to ponder for all readers...What would happen if you woke up one
day and found you had changed into something else?
An original paranormal YA about an unconventional girl, an unconventional boy,
their extraordinary transformations, and the secrets of the Scottish Highlands.
When skater girl Morven Smith turns sixteen, she develops boobs, acute
appendicitis...and a pair of pointy teeth. While she is stunned by her
metamorphosis into vampire, her best mate, the enigmatic Zest, is not. For the
young werewolf, Morvenβs transformation is an answer to his lonely prayers.
But they are unable to celebrate their mutual paranormalcy for long β there are
too many dangers, too much suspicion, and too many questions. Itβs only in
Scotland that Morven can learn the truth about her past. But she discovers more
than she bargained for when she meets her birth family β an ancient feud between
vampires and werewolves. They may both be Children of the Mist, but only one
species can survive.
About Jenny Brigalow
Several years ago, whilst recovering from a back injury, I enrolled in a
correspondence course on writing romance. Three months later I finished my first
novel. Not Shakespeare, for sure, but still all mine. It was a magic moment. I
haven't stopped writing since. I write for the same reasons that I read, mainly
because I can't help myself. Writing allows me to escape but also helps to make
sense of my world. Rural romance is a natural extension of my passion for all
things country. Romance is also a strong element in my Young Adult and literary
works of fiction. Love, truly is, the universal language.

I still imagine that I have secret powers or I imagine myself in my favorite books. But if I really woke up transformed with some secret powers, I guess the first thing I would do is try to figure out everything I could about it. Whether there are any books or other people with the same powers, etc. But it would sure be fun.

After I finished panicking and procrastinating, I would try to figure out what I could do. It would be a bummer since I'd have to figure out what was new and not have a clue what I was doing.

First I would freak and probably spent days trying to hide the changes before finally accepting the changes (as long as I don't turn into an insect and as long as I still able to maintain my human form).

Wow, Congrats on your new book: CHILDREN OF THE MIST. Yes,
it would be great to have magical powers especially when
others would Bully me in school. I could be like the movie
