Dark Hunters to TV, Books in Paper Faster, Borders' Road to Collapse, Romance Writing Contest Opens
Jaime Zalinski July 28, 2011
Due to the success of E-books, some publishers have decided to release certain
books in paperback earlier then the standard one year after release in
hardcover. This is a good thing for those who wait for a book to drop in price
before picking up at their favorite store. Some publishers state that the
timeline for paperback release depends on the sales numbers of the books
hardcover counterpart. When sales of the more expensive version start to
decline is when a book is most likely to be released in the less expensive
format in hopes to boost sales, where as a well selling hardcover novel, such
as Stieg Larsson’s
THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE
HORNET’S NEST, is only available in E-book and Hardcover after being
available in the United States for over a year. Sherrilyn Kenyon, the
#1 New York Times best seller, had exciting news for her fans at Comic-
Con, when she announced that two of her popular series will be transformed onto
film. The Dark-Hunter series is to be turned into a TV series and the Were-
Hunter spin off is to be a separate animated series. Not to be out done, it
was also announced that Kenyon’s YA series, the Chronicles of Nick will be seen
on the big screen in a theatre near you. Minutes after the announcement was
made, social networks were buzzing with the ultimate question. Who will be
casted as Acheron? It is common knowledge that Borders, one of America’s largest chain bookstores
will be closing all of their stores nationwide. Liquidation sales were
authorized to start on Friday July 22nd. For those who would like to know more
about the initial struggle of the literature giant to the final fall, PublishersWeekly has
compiled all their articles on the topic which can be found at the following link The Writing with the Stars 2012 contest has officially started. Hosted by RT

I can't wait to see the Dark Hunters on TV i will be watching it. Sorry about Borders though, it's getting harder to survive with the e-readers being so popular. (Diane Sadler 10:06am July 28, 2011)
I have read all the Dark Hunter books. I would love to see it on tv. (Pam Scott 10:52am July 28, 2011)
I love your books and have read all to date. I will not be watching them on TV because I prefer to see the characters as My mind and not someone else's interprets them. We have not had a TV for almost 40 years nor do we want one we prefer to read. Period! (Sandra Spilecki 10:55am July 28, 2011)
It's a shame that Borders had to close it's doors. People nowadays don't appreciate the feel of having a book in their hands to read. They just want the immediate gratification on their e-reader. Technology is a wonderful thing, but it can also be a curse. Where I live, I can only get 3 channels on my tv, and that will be ending at the end of next month, when they go digital as well. I refuse to pay someone just so I can watch tv. There isn't much on nowadays that I care to watch. Anyway, paperback books are great for those on a budget, and I do prefer the hardcover books when I can afford them. The covers are works of art in themselves. (Peggy Roberson 11:59am July 28, 2011)
I'm going to have to search to find out who picked-up the Dark Hunters for TV. They better do it justice. (Cynthia Netherton 12:09pm July 28, 2011)
I hope they pick the right people to play the Dark Hunters. Acheron and the others are really special and deserve to be portrayed properly. (Ilona Fenton 2:20pm July 28, 2011)
Congrads!!!!! Your books are great, but it's only paperback that I will read. Sometimes hard copies......don't like the nooks, etc...love the paperbacks for the price's and to give them away to friends and family who cannot purchase them as I do.. (Joanne Bozik 2:53pm July 28, 2011)
Sorry about Borders closing. I hope this is not a sign of the times for "paper" books. I love holding and even smelling a new book, turning the pages and actually using a bookmark. I don't want to see this pleasure go away simply due to technology. Connie Fischer [email protected] (Connie Fischer 4:50pm July 28, 2011)
The Dark-Hunter series will be amazing, I just know it. Good news that some books will be out in paperback soon - shelf keepers. (Mary Preston 6:42pm July 28, 2011)
The Dark Hunters may be another series that takes off like the ones with vampires. (Alyson Widen 7:14pm July 28, 2011)
It's the end of an era & that bodes ill for the future. (Mary Preston 7:33pm July 30, 2011)
