Karen Robards | My First Time
March 24, 2009
Thanks so much for inviting me to blog! I have to tell you that this is my
first time. Yes, (blush), I'm a blog virgin. But I'm so excited about the books
I have coming out this month that I jumped at the chance to write about them.
First up, on March 24th, is my hardcover romantic thriller, Pursuit, which
Booklist said was "tense and erotic" (I love that: erotic!). PW
described Pursuit
as "exciting...action-packed...and sure to please" and
RTBookReviews called it "red-hot." Then, on March 31st, the paperback
edition of my previous hardcover, Guilty, which Booklist called "truly a pleasure" hits the
bookstores. If you like my books, I think you'll love these. I know I loved
writing them. Oh, and I have a great new contest on my web-site. Enter and win
a free signed book! Here's a mini-synopsis of Pursuit: Rookie lawyer Jessica Ford doesn’t remember much—only that in the course of a
late-night meeting with Annette Cooper, the First Lady of the United States,
she ended up in the backseat of a car, speeding off into the darkness. The car
crashed en route, and the other three passengers were killed, including the
First Lady. Badly injured, Jess is the only survivor of what is trumpeted
around the world as a tragic accident. But Jess is bothered by one question:
Was it really an accident? The Secret Service agent on the case, Mark Ryan,
thinks Jess is hiding something. As his suspicions grow, Jess’s world starts
falling apart. Everyone who might possibly know the details about the First
Lady’s last few hours is turning up dead. And then Jess understands: If she
remembers that night, she’ll be dead too. Terrified and certain that the First
Lady’s death was no accident, Jess has only Mark to turn to…. And this is Guilty:
One cold November night when Kat White was fifteen years old, she and some
friends held up a convenience store. In the heat of the moment, one of the
others shot and killed an off-duty cop moonlighting as a security guard. Kat
and her pals fled the scene in a panic, and no one was caught. Sixteen years
later, Kat-now Kate-has built a new life for herself. Now a single mom with an
eight-year-old son, she works as a prosecutor in the Philadelphia DA's office.
But her dark past rears its head when she walks into court one day and
discovers that she is to prosecute Mario Castellanos, one of her friends from
that terrible night. And unless she gets him off, he's going to tell sexy homicide detective Tom
Braga that she's the one who pulled the trigger..... Best wishes and happy reading, Karen

Sass, spunk, and spirit, you sure know how to write 'em. I'll have to search for clues and red herrings. (Alyson Widen 12:48pm March 24, 2009)
Wow! Karen Robards a virgin. Trying to fathom this. (Big Grin). When I think of Karen Robards, I think of one of the sexiest books I've ever read -- "Tiger's Eye" -- and get all weak kneed...(another grin). I'm a long-time fan and really love your new books. I laughed myself silly in "To Trust A Stranger"...
Thank you for all the pleasure you have given this reader! (Betty Cox 2:16pm March 24, 2009)
