Ann Marie Walker and Amy K. Rogers share with Fresh Fiction their inspiration for the Chasing Fire trilogy and Hudson Chase!

Jen: Hi, Ann and Amy! Thank you for joining us on Fresh Fiction! RELEASE ME is the second novel in the Chasing Fire trilogy and it’s the ongoing story of Alessandra and Hudson. I like that their story continues and each book presents them with another hurdle to their HEA. This isn’t as common in romance as it is in other genres although there are a few notable exceptions (Fifty Shades of Grey). When you were in the initial planning stages for Chasing Fire, did you know you wanted Alessandra and Hudson’s story to span three books or did it evolve as you wrote REMIND ME?

Ann and Amy: We had always planned for it to be a continuing series similar to Fifty Shades or Crossfire. While in each book Hudson and Alessandra get a temporary HEA, the ending of each book is structured a bit like the season finale of a TV show.

Jen: Writing as a team does require a different approach than writing solo. Can you tell us how you began writing together and what you’ve learned as you’ve written multiple books together?

Ann and Amy: We started off bonding over lemon drop martinis and our love of alpha males and British Supermodel David Gandy. Not long after that Hudson Chase sauntered into our lives with a story to tell. Over the past year we’ve learned a lot about our own strengths and weaknesses and how to best complement each other.

Jen: At the core of RELEASE ME is trust and forgiveness, and for Alessandra and Hudson trust does not come easily. I love that each book in the series brings them closer to revealing all their secrets. While their chemistry is undeniable, it’s those moments of trust when they’re vulnerable with each other that get me. What was your favorite scene (sexy or sweet) to write and why?

Ann and Amy: One of our favorite scenes is when Alessandra goes to Hudson’s office to confront him. She’s unsure of what he’ll say or how he’ll react and he’s unsure about her motivation. It’s a huge leap of faith for both of them.

Jen: There is something so deliciously tempting about Hudson. He’s intelligent, ambitious, sexy, and with an edge of danger and mystery. Who would be your dream movie star pick for Hudson and why? And Alessandra?

Ann and Amy: When writing the Chasing Fire series, we envisioned British Supermodel David Gandy as Hudson Chase. We don't really have anyone in mind for Allie but several readers have suggested Blake Lively.

Jen: Can you give us a peek at what you both are working on in the future?

Ann and Amy: We are working on something special for those people wanting a little more Hudson Chase.

Jen: Thank you, Ann and Amy for joining us!

About RELEASE ME

The second in the “seriously sexy and sinfully steamy”* Chasing Fire series, about a pain too deep to forgive and a passion too hot to forget...

Alessandra Sinclair knows that Hudson Chase is the last man she should want. The boy from the wrong side of the tracks has grown into a man who would do anything to get ahead, even if it means breaking Allie’s heart. But whenever she’s near him, the attraction between them is undeniable. And now that they’re working together, keeping her distance from Hudson is almost as impossible as keeping her feelings in check...

Hudson already lost Allie once and he refuses to lose her again. He’s determined to use their new business partnership to rekindle the spark he knows is still there. Only the closer he gets to winning her over, the clearer it becomes there are still secrets that could tear them apart for good...

Re: Ann Marie Walker and Amy K. Rogers | The Inspiration behind Chasing Fire and Hudson Chase

I'm not familiar with this series, but it sounds like it's the perfect read that you can really sink your teeth into (no pun intended)!! This will make the perfect read to round out the Summer, and I've put it on my TBR list. I'm normally not a big fan of trilogies, but this particular story probably has to be broken up into more than one book, so it's going to be a treat to read it. Congratulations on your latest book, and I'm sure it's going to do well!!
