Re: The More the Terrier (3:49pm December 31, 2011):
Our new year plans are to continue to enjoy our retirement. This past year we went to alaska for 14 days and then hawaii for my 65th birthday in dec. We spent 11 days there. What a birthday gift. We want to travel all over before one of us is not able. So many people put off plans and then never get to do them. Off to fl in march and then who knows where next. Enjoy the grandkids. One is a 7th grade volleyball player and a cheerleader and the other is is pre school. What sweet girls they are . Love them to pieces. Would like another pet if we were not traveling. Miss our last one Misty who passed away about 8 years ago.

I have never experienced domestic abuse but have 2 sisters who have. I cannot imagine living that way. Thanks to you for telling your story. It just might help someone who picks it up to read and they or someone they know is living with domestic abuse and it may be just the thing to convince them to get help.

Re: These Things Hidden (3:52pm February 6, 2011):
I think being a good mother is taking the time to read to them and color with them. Teaching them to become caring and responsible adults. To encourage them whether it is in school work, band, sports or whatever they try. My granddaughter is 11 now and enjoys being in plays at a playhouse near us. She has done 4 plays and had the lead in the last one. Seeing her sing and dance just makes me so proud of her and also makes me want to cry . My husband and I try to be the best grandparents. We attend school functions and cheer competitions and plays and anything we possibly can attend. We also have a 4 year old granddaughter and have fun teaching her to sing and say nursery rhymes . We love them undonditionally and sure do love hearing them say. Love you mama and Love you poppy.
Re: At Hidden Falls (1:12pm January 25, 2011):
I started reading at a young age and even though I had a great childhood reading was my favorite thing in the world to do. I even got my library card taken away so I would learn my multiplication . I learned it in a hurry and used to take my younger sisters to the library with me. I would go through themes, all nancy drew, all earl stanley gardner, all medical books, all mysteries and so on. Now I still read all the time and pass my books on to my mom who at 84 still reads a lot, my sisters and my friends. I feel so sad for the multitudes who cannot read. I cannot imagine a life without reading. Love your books .Can't wait to read the newest one.

Re: Santa Honey (7:33pm October 28, 2009):
Oh, I so agree with you . My husband and I both have worked for a large printing company. I worked for over 32 years and my husband has 44 years in and is retiring. They get very little money for each book and as you said the run counts are down and they have had large cut backs every year or so.
I love books and do not like audio books or e- books. I like to sit with book and read it at my leisure. I love book stores . I live in a very small town and we have no bookstores. I usually order all my books online. I love fresh fiction for all the great reviews, author news and great contests. Good luck with your new book. Hope the economy picks up . I hate waiting for my bookclub selections to come. They are always backordered now. Have a great holiday season.
Our poor library is having a hard time staying open and we are doing everything we can to help. Wish I could win the lottery and help out our town and library.

Re: These Boots Were Made for Stomping (3:04pm April 7, 2008):
My mom still says you aren't properly dressed up without panty house. I can't stand them either and am more comfortable in my crocs. Ugly but comfortable. I remember garter belts and thigh high nylons hooked to the garter belt and starched crinoines under full skirts. It is scary to look back.
