Re: No Heartbreaker Required (5:00pm June 14, 2019):

Well JoAnn, he sounds like a keeper. And if he wasn't already
'kept', I'd like an introduction! LOL

Re: Let Me Love You (11:25am March 3, 2019):

Sounds like a really good series. Love that cover too.

Re: Best Friends with Benefits (8:52pm March 25, 2016):

At my 15 year class reunion, several of us drank too
much...myself included, and apparently I made out with one of
guys from my class. I totally forgot about it and when we had
our most recent reunion (53 years) he reminded me of it. I
asked him then, why didn't we ever go out in high school? And
he said most of the guys were afraid of me because I was so
smart. His words, not mine.

Re: To Charm a Naughty Countess (9:49am May 22, 2014):

I love the sound of this book. I know it will be fun to read. Hope I win a copy!

Re: Hot Rock (7:16pm February 25, 2014):

Girls just fall in love with the boys in the band...doesn't matter how old the boys and girls are....it's eternal love! I still crush on Alabama...mainly Randy Owen and have since 1980 the first time I saw them in concert. Anyone who loves country music knows who he is! That country boy is HOT!

Re: If Wishes Were Earls (5:45pm December 31, 2013):

I am so far behind in my reading of your books Elizabeth, it will take me several weeks to read everything of yours I have on my TBR shelf...including your latest which arrived in the mail on Monday from my Amazon pre-order. Gotta get on the stick! Thanks for the outstanding giveaways going on right now. Happy New Year!

Re: The Wicked Wallflower (8:03am October 25, 2013):

Yes, of course. I think it's hard to get out of high school without a secret crush!

Re: Into the Spotlight (10:23am March 3, 2013):

I've only been to Vegas once and that was for 3 days of slot
machines and daily walks to take in the assorted sites and
other casinos. I would like to go back to actually tour more
of the area. Thanks for the giveaway.

Re: The Family Way (10:20am March 3, 2013):

I'm a low-tech sort. I have a cell phone but only for
emergencies...it's never turned on! I like the slower times
depicted in the historical romances I read. That said, I
still prefer living in the 21st century! Your books sound
interesting, just the kind I like to read.

Re: An Encounter at the Museum (8:06am March 2, 2013):

I hate to admit this but it has been so long since I've been
on a date or dating, well, it's just a blank! I'm so looking
forward to this anthology...it sounds so good.

Re: Finding Home (2:52pm January 14, 2013):

You new direction sounds exciting. Good luck to you. I've
never visited the Dakotas. I spent my life in Michigan,
growing up with trees all around. It seems harsh to see the
open prairie land of Dakota. Now a little story about ND.
My son-in-law is a nature photographer and has visited N & S
Dakota on several occasions. On one trip through ND, he saw
an abandoned stove sans oven door sitting all alone in a
field. It had a sign on it that said "OPEN
RANGE"...seriously...someone had a dry sense of humor. Of
course, my SIL took a picture of it. Whenever he's giving a
presentation of birds & wildlife from the Dakotas, he throws
that picture in for comic relief!

Re: Royal Street (10:45am May 6, 2012):

This book sounds fantastic! And yes, I'd date an undead
pirate! What fun that would be...especially if he looked
like Johnny Depp.

Re: Texas Baby Sanctuary (9:04am March 28, 2012):

It's been years since I've read any books set in Texas and those I did read where historical romances. I enjoy reading stories set in the old west especially since Texas has such a rich history.

Re: The Chase (8:40am March 28, 2012):

I love TV Dramas. Shows like NCIS, Criminal Minds, CSI, Blue Bloods are tops on my list. But, there are some new programs this year that, IMHO, are off the charts. Person of Interest with its quirky futuristic trouble spotting machine stars Jim Caveizel and Michael Emmerson (from LOST). Those 2 play well off each other then through in 2 NYPD detectives...one a bit shady and the other, a tenacious woman who just won't let go of that bone. And, it has been renewed for a 2nd season.

Then there is the new AMC drama HELL ON WHEELS. Done for the season now, but has been renewed for another season. If you haven't seen this gritty, post-civil war drama, you are missing an outstanding program. Excellent acting, writing and directing. If reruns of season one appear, do yourself a favor and watch. You won't be disappointed.

Re: Secret Confessions of Lady H ? Book 1 (8:12am March 14, 2012):

Reminds me of the weekly serial films we used to watch as kids at the local theater matinee on Saturday afternoons and those radio serials...had to sit on the floor in front of the radio to listen every week! I have really dated myself with that last one!

Serialized books is another matter. Like you said, people today don't want to wait that long to get the full story. Late last year, a relatively new author published his book in digital format. I entered a contest to win a copy but didn't get chosen. He said he had so many entries, he decided to send an email to several others with a chapter a week attached. 20 chapters, 20 weeks. Interesting way to get his book out!

Re: Sweet Enemy (7:43am March 8, 2012):

I like the sex scenes but I love the journey the H/H take to get there. To me, the sex is only a small part of the total story...important but not THE most important factor. Can't wait to read this book. It sounds like the kind of story I love!

Re: Engaged in Sin (10:06am November 6, 2011):

This book sounds like my kind of read! Would love to win a copy. Thanks for the giveaway

Re: Fezariu's Epiphany (9:43am August 14, 2011):

Hi David,

Congratulations on the release of your latest book. You are a new-to-me author and I like the sound of your work.

Re: One Touch of Scandal (10:45am September 26, 2010):

My treat is another good book!
I love chocolate...way to much
to have it in the house on a
regular basis. I just can't
stop with only one
serving...LOL...do you know
how SMALL one serving of a
chocolate bar really is?

Still waiting impatiently for
your latest book to hit my
bookshelf!

Re: The Making Of A Duchess (8:55am June 3, 2010):

Me again. I forgot to ask what time period your new book was set in. I also forgot to congratulation you on the release of a new book. Good to see something by you back on the market after a long spell away.

Re: The Making Of A Duchess (8:51am June 3, 2010):

I've never pretended to be someone else & I can't say that I ever would. However, I do like a good masquerade story. I'm out on a limb here because I can't remember the author or the titles, but one of my favorites wrote a 2 book series about 2 sisters (or perhaps cousins) where one lady found herself in a situation she didn't want to be in and asked the other lady to impersonate her. All worked out well for both at the end of the 2 stories. Dang me, wish I could remember but it's either Medeiros, Quinn or Laurens. Anyway, fun stories & enjoyable reads.

Re: The Cowboy From Christmas Past (1:08pm February 11, 2010):

I like anthologies because sometimes they offer little snippets of a new-to-me author's work. A good way to discover new authors without jumping entirely into the lake.

Re: Getting Lucky (2:57pm January 18, 2010):

I enjoy reading books in a series. I love to read about the lives of siblings and other secondary characters. I just finished The School for Heiresses Series by Sabrina Jeffries and she has a new series starting that will cover the other people from the original 6 books!

Re: A Father For Jesse (12:14pm November 27, 2009):

Love free...especially free books! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Re: The Cowboy From Christmas Past (11:59am November 27, 2009):

Chocolate Pecan Pie sounds totally sinful! Love chocolate, love pecans! Hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving. I got a remastered DVD of Gone With the Wind for my birthday earlier this month...going to spend Black Friday night watching my all-time favorite film/book!

Re: Finger Lickin' Fifteen (12:45pm October 18, 2009):

I enjoy detail that truly enhances the story. But there can be too much of a good thing too. That puts me off the story and possibly the book. I have read books where I began to loose interest because of pages useless detail. I keep thinking out of this 400 page book, 50-75 could easily be cut without harming the story.

Re: The Cowboy From Christmas Past (11:51am September 3, 2009):

Great story. Reminds me of the time my daughter brought home a cat from the animal shelter, without my prior permission. She swore that she and my son would take care of him. She bought everything needed to take care of him too. Well, the cat was young and not 'potty trained'. Guess who played mother cat and showed the kitty what the litter box was for? Not daughter. Good thing the cat learned quickly. She named him Rochester...I just called him Cat. The kids forgot to feed Cat...so the job fell to me. I'd holler 'come on Cat' and he would come running for his dinner. Eventually Cat decided the best place to snuggle was next to me in my chair. He would totally ignore the kids who were to 'take care of him'.

Re: Dragons Prefer Blondes (10:27am August 29, 2009):

I prefer to read author interviews myself.

Re: Haunting Beauty (11:28am August 27, 2009):

This sounds a little like Quantum Leap (I loved that program!) but I don't know that it is necessarily a good thing to be in a position to 'do over' what went wrong in the past. But that's just MHO!

Re: The Treasures Of Venice (11:23am August 27, 2009):

Glad you didn't have to go years and years between leaving your day job & getting the call. BTW, that must have one h**l of a wake-up call for you that day! Love the story.

Congratulations on your latest releast...sounds good!

Re: The Cowboy From Christmas Past (10:39am August 27, 2009):

I agree, losing my sight would be catastrophic. Reading & watching movies are my 2 favorite pastimes. I was diagnosed with cataracts last year. I notice changes in my vision, but it is a slow, progressive problem and fortunately, it can be corrected when the time comes.

Re: The Cowboy From Christmas Past (9:52am July 15, 2009):

Never went to college myself. Sounds like your college days were a fun time. Such good memories.

Some good movies I've watched recently are: Benjamin Buttons, Valkyrie, Paradise Road and Narrow Margin. The last 2 films are rather old but excellent viewing anyway.

Re: Loving a Lost Lord (1:01pm July 6, 2009):

Hi Mary Jo,

Historical Romances are my favorite genre and is nearly 100% of my reading. Your post has made me chuckle over a couple of things:

You said:
They probably both needed a good bath' reminds me of the differences between the 2 Pride & Prejudice films...in the first, everything seems to be pristine & sweet-smelling but in the remake, we see the dirt, in the streets, in the houses, on the clothing, even their hair looks dirty and we can imagine they all needed that bath!

Now with so many of your latest heros & heroines suppose to be dead, reminds me of a scene in an Alias episode: Sydney (speaking about her arch enemy Anna Espinosa) 'She's suppose to be dead.' And Jack in his usual deadpan manner responds 'So are a lot of people.'

Great post Mary Jo and I'm looking forward to getting my copy of LALL!

Re: Loving a Lost Lord (11:45am June 28, 2009):

Recently I read a 2-book series and the plot lines of both books were so similar that while reading the second book I felt I was re-reading the first book. That's not good. Is that a sign of no real imagination? Don't know but both books received lots of kudos. To be fair, they were well-written, but the distinct similarities threw me. But maybe that's just me.

Re: Seducing an Angel (1:00pm June 23, 2009):

Hi Mary,

Great post and so very true. I am a firm believer that we must love ourselves before we can expect others to love us.

I never met a book of yours that I didn't like and I have several (ok,,,lots) of your books on my TBR shelf including the first 3 books in this series. Could really use this book to add to my collection! LOL

Re: The Texas Twins (1:10pm June 18, 2009):

I just saw Gran Torino & loved it. I never met an Eastwood film I didn't like!

I love on-line crossword & jigsaw puzzles too.

Re: Jump (12:30pm June 18, 2009):

Book sounds good...just proves there's more than one way to get rid of a 'slumlord'! LOL

Re: To Beguile A Beast (9:59am March 24, 2009):

Hi Elizabeth, Have most of your books on my TBR shelves...guess I need to pull some out and start reading them. This new book sounds very good. Can't wait to add it to my collection!

Re: Would-Be Witch (10:20am March 17, 2009):

I see my original post was on Saturday 3/14 but the contest seems to be dated to start on 3/16. So, I'm posting again just to be sure I'm qualified for the drawing. And I'd still like to spend time at Tara. I have a strong facination for Antebellum homes and plantations. Natchez with it's multitude of surviving pre-civil homes is one of my favorite places to visit.

Re: Would-Be Witch (10:54am March 14, 2009):

I'd like to spend time at Tara Plantation in Gone With The Wind.

Re: Between A Rock And A Heart Place (9:03am February 27, 2009):

I think I'd have to go with the tiger

Re: Kisses Like A Devil (9:00am February 27, 2009):

Re: The C.O.O. Must Marry (8:58am February 27, 2009):

I don't have a long journey to success to report but I enjoyed reading about your journey. The phrase 'It's a small world' really rings true with the internet and it is an even smaller cyberworld!

Re: Ravenous (12:27pm February 19, 2009):

Hi Sharon,

Your new book sounds like a good read. Have added it to my BTB list.

Re: Highland Warrior (12:17pm February 16, 2009):

The features I like best on my favorite author's websites are the excerpts and information about WIP. I also like to read tidbits about what is happening in their lives.

Re: Evil Without A Face (12:13pm January 29, 2009):

I don't have young children in the home now to worry about them being on-line, but my own habits have changed as I've gained experience with the internet. I am much more careful (to the point of being paranoid) about what sites I visit and how I show my name and other personal information.

Re: Wicked Burn (1:09pm January 26, 2009):

I'm a reader not an author but I have found many new-to-me authors from blogs and reader groups such as Yahoo. I also read the reader reviews I find posted at various review sites and the on-line bookstores.

I will sometimes post a review of a book that I enjoyed a lot and want to spread the word. I will not post a public review for a book I didn't really care for but I will sometimes post a pan-review on my MySpace blog.
