Murder, Politics, and Romance...The Perfect Combination in Marie Force's Fatal Series

Instagramgoodreadsfacebook
By Jennifer Barnhart FATAL FRENZY, the ninth book in the Fatal series by Marie Force, is set to release September 15. After the ending of FATAL SCANDAL, I know I can't wait to find out what's going to happen, and I'm not alone in my love of this series. The Fatal series has been so popular that HQN signed a seven-figure deal with Marie Force for the next four books in the series (Publisher's Marketplace), and they're simultaneously releasing the the series in print and digital formats. The first seven books in the series have been released in print for the first time, with one being released each month since May 2015. The seventh book, FATAL JEOPARDY, released August 25, 2015. But what draws readers into this series and keeps them coming back? I can't answer for every reader, but for me, it's the relationships Sam and Nick build, with each other and with their families; the ones they were born with and the ones they create. In FATAL AFFAIR, the first book in the series, the reader is introduced to this world and these characters, and there isn't much backstory given for many of the secondary characters. Each book in the series offers new insight or another glimpse into the characters. Freddie quickly became a favorite, but I was surprised at how much I grew to like Graham and Terry O'Connor after the events of FATAL AFFAIR. The characters change, they grow, they learn. They're not perfect, but they keep trying, and my impressions of them grow and change as well. My feelings towards the characters become more layered, more complex, and it pulls me deeper into the world with each new book. If you haven't had a chance to read the Fatal , I highly recommend that you do. Just make sure you have a week to spare because once you start this series, you're not going to want to stop and the newest comes out tomorrow!

About FATAL FRENZY

Inauguration day is almost here…

Lieutenant Sam Holland is on leave, recovering from an attack that shook her
to the core. With no case to distract her, she's trying to stay busyβ€”even
voluntarily meeting with her new White House staff. But it's not enough to
keep the horrific memories at bay, and her family is worried…especially her
husband, Vice President Nick Cappuano.

Nick is dealing with his own demons where his wife's safety is concerned,
losing night after night of sleep as he works to make sure what happened
that
day will never happen again. The pressure is building inside the Cappuanos'
marriage, and something's got to give before Nick takes the oath of office.

When two college girls go missing in the midst of inauguration madness, the chief of police needs the one cop he can count on to find them and save the Metro PD from disgrace. In a case full of ugly twists and turns, Sam will have to confront her past and find her strength again…before it's too late.

Re: Murder, Politics, and Romance...The Perfect Combination in Marie Force's Fatal Series

I'm way behind the curve, because I haven't had a chance
to start this series yet. With the obligations that I
had gotten myself into, along with the death of my
Father, and a few close relatives in the past 2 years,
I've only been able to grab a book here and there to
read. Now that I'm slowly coming back to normal, I need
to play a little bit of catch-up, and one of them is with
this series!! I remember seeing prior books, but missed
them, and don't want to miss this one!! Congratulations
on your latest book!! It sounds like a great read for
the Fall, and I will have it on my TBR list, along with
the rest of the series.

I just read "Line of Scrimmage" last night. Marie Force's books are well worth reading. I, too, am behind the curve but I will be catching up! Love her books!
