With more than 7 million copies of her books in print worldwide, award winning
and USA Today bestseller Lucy Monroe has published over 60 books and
had her stories translated for sale all over the world. While she writes
multiple subgenres of romance, all of her books are sexy, deeply emotional and
adhere to the concept that love will conquer all. A passionate devotee of
romance, she adores sharing her love for the genre with her readers.
What can you tell us about your new series?
The series is called Northern Fire and it takes place in a small
Alaskan town called Cailkirn. Each of the books will be a stand-alone romance.
Readers will meet new characters along the way, but many of the characters are
present throughout the series.
What are the main characters like in book #1, Wild Heat?
Taqukaq "Tack" MacKinnon grew up a chubby, uncoordinated boy who didn't quite
fit in with either side of his family but now he's an ultra-sexy, athletic man.
His child-hood best friend, Caitlin (Kitty) Grant couldn't have been more
different. The beautiful blue eyed- redhead was beloved by her family and the
townsfolk alike.
Why did you choose to write about an Alaskan town?
I went on a cruise with my husband I just fell in love with all the quirky
people and small town charm. I was inspired everywhere we went. By the time I
got home I could not wait to start writing all of the stories inspired by the trip.
What makes WILD HEAT a unique novel?
This book has characters who deal with real life issues like Kitty recovering
from anorexia. That and other issues throughout the series make the Northern
Fire characters relatable for readers and that's not something every book has.
If you were one of the 2,000 people in Cailkirn which of your characters
would you want to be friends with?
Everyone! I just find all of the characters fun, interesting, unique and so
real. I would want to get to know the elderly ladies so bent on matchmaking for
Caitlin. And Tack is so honorable and cool he would make a great friend. Kitty
is so strong without realizing it she would be an amazing friend. It's just a
town populated with people I would want to get to know, and I hope readers feel
the same.
What else can you tell us about the Northern Fire series?
Book #2, HOT NIGHT will be out December 2015. HOT NIGHT is about a man who hates
the film industry because it took his parents away from him, thrusting him into
the role of full time caregiver to his siblings. Regardless of his hatred for
it, both of his younger siblings went into the industry. Now his brother wants
to use his land to film in Cailkirn. He ends up falling for the female lead in
the movie even though the two are complete opposites.
About WILD HEAT
In the quaint little town of Cailkirn, Alaska, it’s impossible to keep a secret,
especially one as juicy as the unexpected return of Kitty Grant. Tack MacKinnon
remembers her wild red curls and even wilder spirit—and still feels the sting
from when she shattered his heart in college. But there’s a pain in Kitty’s
gorgeous eyes that guts him to the core and Tack is determined to do whatever it
takes to see the woman he still loves smile again—even if it means taking on her
demons as his own.
After fleeing an abusive ex-husband, Kitty decides that the best way to heal her
broken heart is to come back home. But she gets a whole new shock when she sees
how undeniably sexy Tack has become. More handsome, more muscular, more
charming—more everything—he’s impossible to resist. Before she knows it, they’re
reigniting sparks that could set the whole state of Alaska on fire. Yet trust
doesn’t come easy to Kitty anymore, and as things heat up between her and Tack,
she can’t help but wonder if one of them is going to get burned . . .
