D.D. Ayres | Romantic Suspense: Doggy Style

While writing, I often fall a little in love with my characters. This time, it’s the real thing. And I don’t think I’m going to get over them. Let me introduce you to the heroes and heroines of my new K-9 Rescue series. They’re the highly-skilled, intelligent, and physically amazing components of law enforcement, first responder, and service fame. They’re also good kissers, great to have around in a dicey situation, and totally loyal. They just happen have furry coats and four paws.

1. Zander

Zander is a yellow Lab who works explosives detection with his handler FBI Agent Brad Lawson in the novella NECESSARY FORCE. Laidback but totally dedicated to the job, Zander is the first to realize that photographer Georgie Flynn is more than an assignment for his boss. When things get dicey, Zander’s detection skills take top priority in a deadly game of beat the clock with a would-be bomber.

2. Bogart

Bogart is the Belgian Malinois from Irresistible Force. “Prince Charming” isn’t just a nickname but an attitude for this Police K-9. He gets the girl first! While handler Officer James Canon is more than a pretty face, Bogart give him plenty of competition for Shay Appleton’s heart when someone begins stalking her, and threatening her life.

3. Hugo and Izzy

There’s a double-dip of romance in FORCE OF ATTRACTION.

Don’t let Hugo’s cute-puppy looks fool you. This Bouvier Des Flandres Police K-9 is ninety-five lb. of brawny Batman muscle in the Bear suit! But when this Alpha falls for a reserved and highly-particular drug detecting Chocolate Lab K-9 named, Izzy he’s putty in her paws. When their handlers, DEA Agent Scott Lucca and Officer Cole Jamison go undercover together, the fur and the sparks fly for both K-9 duos.

4. Samantha

This Golden Doodle PTSD service dog is front and center in my September release: PRIMAL FORCE. She even has a point of view. It’s a case of “Cutie and The Beast” when Samantha chooses as her new handler wounded military Police K-9 veteran Lauray “Law” Battise. The only thing Law likes about the arrangement is her sexy service dog trainer, Jori Garrison. Dubbed a useless “Cheese Doodle” by Law, Samantha shows what she’s really made of when disaster threatens all their lives.

So there you have it. The roster so far. With three more books to come, I’ll be adding to my K-9 Woof! Pack. They’ve totally won my heart! I hope they will yours.
