Shelly Bell | Who Wants Reality in Romance?
March 24, 2015
When I read a romance, I expect to be swept away from real life into a world
where good conquers evil and the hero and heroine live happily-ever-after. While
everything ties together nice and neatly in a book, reality is messy,
complicated, and sometimes, just plain old boring. Can you imagine if a romance
novel mirrored a realistic relationship? Five things the heroine never says to the hero in a romance novel1. Not tonight. I’m too tired. 2. You’re too big for me. I prefer a smaller one. 3. I need to take my antibiotic, so I don’t get an infection. 4. Will you pick up some tampons on your way home from work? 5. Again? We just did it this morning. Five things the hero never says to the heroine in a romance novel1. I’m not in the mood. 2. Don’t shave. I prefer you au natural. 3. We need to wait thirty minutes for my Viagra to take effect. 4. I’m sorry you have cramps. Can I give you a back rub? 5. Love your nightie, but I’m just gonna grab a beer and watch the game. I promise you won’t read any of the above in RED HANDED,
my erotic suspense
novel set inside the sex club Benediction! GiveawaySo tell me, what do you say to or hear from your significant-other in real life
that you’ve never read in a romance? Leave a comment below to be entered to win
the complete White Collared serial in print, also set at club Benediction. About RED HANDEDAn exhibitionist who's waited her whole life to be seen … After her stepmother is abducted, Danielle Walker has no choice but to follow
the kidnapper's cryptic instructions. Under the guise of a sex slave trainee,
she must infiltrate Cole DeMarco's BDSM club and find evidence of his offshore
bank account … or she'll never see her stepmother alive again. But Master Cole
is no stranger, and despite the dark past they share, Danielle cannot resist his
magnetic pull. The voyeur who's always been watching … As Danielle begins uncovering Cole's secrets, the artistic voyeur arouses her
deepest desires, and she surrenders to a fiery passion she never expected. But
with time running out to save her stepmother, Danielle and Cole will face off
against an evil growing more ruthless by the day … and discover a twisted web of
lies, betrayal, and murder that neither saw coming. About SHELLY BELLA sucker for a happy ending, Shelly Bell writes sensual romance often with a bit
of kink and action-filled erotic thrillers with high-emotional stakes for her
alpha heroes and kick-ass heroines. She began writing upon the insistence of her husband who dragged her to the
store and bought her a laptop. When she’s not working her day job, taking care
of her family, or writing, you’ll find her reading the latest smutty romance.

Wowza... steamy! (Kelly Braun 1:45am March 24, 2015)
Shut up - is allowed only when followed by "and Kiss Me." (Beth Elder 6:25am March 24, 2015)
After 32 years of marriage, there are a lot of things that are said!! lol One thing that you missed for both sides was - I made other plans for tonight, and am going out. It's not a date, of course, just plans with their friends. There are times I go out with my Girlfriends, because we need to do something, or my Husband had to go out to help his Friend who didn't drive. I had sick Parents to take care of - one who had Alzheimer's, and I knew he didn't want to come along all the time. Anyway, your posting made my day, and I'm sure your book will make my night!! Congratulations on what I know will be a big hit!! (Peggy Roberson 12:34pm March 24, 2015)

Loved your lists. One thing I would add is "Not tonight, honey, I have a headache." Thanks for the great giveaway. (Bonnie H 9:18pm March 24, 2015)
My EX-significant other used to say (after he turned 40!) that making love properly was "work", and he wasn't always "up" to that much work. Did you notice I said "EX"??? Thanks for your entertaining interview & sharing the synopsis of your new book!! (Kathie Banks 12:15pm March 25, 2015)
I'm guilty of saying...I'm in the middle of a book...you're going to have to wait till I finish. (Jennifer Schultheis 8:07am March 25, 2015)

Enjoyed reading the Five Things Lists. About the only ones unmentioned are, "I have a bad headache, I have to get up really early in the morning, I really need a shower, or I've had a long day." The old stand-by excuses. Sounds like quite an interesting story. (Linda Luinstra 5:56pm March 25, 2015)
I would love hubby to say "I cleaned the house, did the laundry, and made dinner." (Barrie MacLauchlin 7:13pm March 25, 2015)
I am not in the mood is a no no!!!! (Sherry Cockerham 11:42am April 2, 2015)
