Kate Allure | Meet the Woman in the Red Hat

Hi, to the readers and staff of Fresh Fiction. And thank you for inviting me to
make a guest appearance on your fab site. As a newbie, I’m not always sure what
to talk about…so I decided to answer three simple questions: Who am I? What do I
write? Who are the books for?

Who am I? I’m Kate in the BIG RED HAT!—a debut author of the erotic romance anthology, PLAYING DOCTOR, which came out January 6th from Sourcebooks. I won’t bore you with my bio (it’s below), but I would like to note that one of my favorite things about writing is the researching…and I like to do very extensive, “hands on” research with my loving husband. As for the red hat, since both my website and books are highly risqué, I’m writing incognito to protect the innocent (the privacy of my teenage daughter). I hope you’ll visit my KateAllure.com to learn more about my “research” and maybe join Club Kate to participate in what I hope will become a meeting place for fans, authors, bloggers, and anyone interested in romance novels and all things related to romance, sex, and love. A fun cyber community to share silly stories about encounters, or in-counters, gone astray or to celebrate romantic successes in the boudoir. What do I write? Short sexy stories. Anthologies about professional men—handsome doctors, lawyers, professors—and successful women who take charge of their lives and their sexuality…and the fun they have behind closed doors. The Meeting Men series will also include LAWYERING UP (about the naughty things lawyers enjoy), HANDS ON (about studly men who work with their hands), and EXTRA CREDIT (sexy profs getting down in the stacks). I like to say my characters are…Real women, real men — meeting, loving, having fun!

Womanhood, in whatever form, is something to celebrate and exalt. “I am woman, hear me roar,” sang Helen Reddy in 1972…and we’re still roaring. We are women. Strong. Invincible.

As for “sexy”…I truly believe this is inside all of us. It’s not the size of our
bust, the color of our hair, or what a beauty magazine dictates—it is who we
feel we are and who we want to be. That doesn’t mean it comes easy. We might
need to work hard to release that inner goddess, but it’s worth it—and I expect
your partners might agree! (LOL).
