Caroline Richards | What Would You Do In London?

Do you want to know how much I love Rowena and Rushford, the couple in THE DARKEST SIN? I love them so much that to celebrate the publication of their story, readers can win a romantic weeken for two in London, England. Other than reading THE DARKEST SIN, the next best thing is being there -- in London, soaking up the passion and intrigue that lingers around every corner of that historical city.

So please tell me, if you win the trip -- how would you spend your time?

Caroline Richards

Re: Caroline Richards | What Would You Do In London?

Oh wow... A weekend in London? I have friends there so I'll probably visit my friends first. I would also love to do some shopping and re-visit the historical sites (eg castles, palace...etc.) again. I think Princess Katherine and Prince William really brought romance back to London for me...
(May Pau 7:54am June 1, 2011)

It's really simple to enter the contest -- just fill out the entry form (name, address, etc) found on the last pages of The Darkest Sin.

I have London as one of the top ten places to visit before I die. I would want to see the historical sites, take them all in. I am a history "nerd" and to walk through the streets and buildings of history where amazing things took place, changed courses, left art-books-philosophy behind-- to be in awe of how time is and significant each one of each is.

You sound like you need to go to London, Carla. I can relate -- I'm a history "nerd" myself. And that's why we're doing the Weekend in London giveaway -- to let readers who love historical romance get the chance to steep themselves in the romance and passion of the past.

I would go see Big Ben!

I've been to London and there are so many sights to see. However, you have to
go to a play. No one does it like the English! I love everything English!!
(Connie Fischer 11:30am June 1, 2011)

Thank you for your post and giveaway, Caroline. If I could visit London, I'd hit all the usual tourist attractions, and more. I'd visit the places associated with my favorite literary, artistic, and historical figures.

BTW, the cover art of your novel is lovely. Do you know who painted it?

Good luck with the release of "The Darkest Sin"!

I would go to all the museums that I could fir in, shop until I drop, dine at the best restaurants, and fall into bed in London. Thank you and Best Wishes, with "The Darkest Sin"

I am not a traveler, but I will answer your question. I would take in as many historical sites as I could. The tower first!!! Then the grand parks, the beautiful England country side!!! Oh heck, I'd need a month or 2!!!!!!! lol Good luck with contest!!! If I do win, you can send me one of your read!!!!! lolol But do let someone win it who likes to travel!!!!!! Good luck!!
(Joanne Bozik 1:20pm June 1, 2011)

Thank you for your good wishes, Mary Anne and Barbara.
I love the cover for The Darkest Sin as well, although I don't know who did the original artwork. The design team at Brava did an excellent job with my Sin Trilogy covers overall. Very mysterious and romantic looking....

Of course, I'd want to see all the wonderful historical places, see the changing of the guards. maybe spot a "Royal", stroll the gardens, and have high tea with all the locals. A visit to Harrods would be a treat, too. My great & great great grand parents came from the area of Somerset near by so would love to travel in their steps. Oh, & Bath, who could forget that? Don't believe I'd get much rest on this trip! :)I also, think your book cover is very classy looking. Draws my attention & piques my interest! Good luck on the series.

Concerts. Lots and lots of concerts. The London Philharmonic, London Sinfonia, Academy of St. Martin's in the Fields Chamber Orchestra, student and faculty recitals at the Guildhall and the Royal Academy of Music, ...... Can you tell I'm a musician?

I'd also like to see the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace again, and maybe this time, tour the Tower instead of heading straight for Harrod's. Of course, one MUST go to Hatchard's Booksellers!!

Thanks for a great contest!

Later,

Lynn
(Lynn Rettig 2:25pm June 1, 2011)

I love Hatchard's! I know you're a reader but you must be a classical musician as well, Lynn. What instrument do you play?
(Caroline Richards 3:13pm June 1, 2011)

I'd go back to visit my old street and school.
(Jett Wells 3:41pm June 1, 2011)

I would love to visit London, I would never sleep while there, I would visit everyplace and then write about it, when I got home, so everyone could enjoy the things I did.
(Frances Namuth 6:21pm June 1, 2011)

Gotta see some shows! But also some palaces, castles, museums, Hyde Park, the Tower, so many things!
(Diane Sallans 6:30pm June 1, 2011)

Two days in London - how do I choose what to do? On my list would be the British Museum, the Victoria and Albert, church service at St Paul's Cathedral and maybe last minute tickets for a play.
(Carol Drummond 6:31pm June 1, 2011)

I play viola, and am a professional chamber musician, but I still am willing to play in orchestras every now and then.

I'd also like to hit the British Museum, the V & A, and if there was time, squeeze in Kew Gardens too! Yeah, if there's time. Who am I kidding?!?

Later,

Lynn
(Lynn Rettig 7:58pm June 1, 2011)

I tried to catch a show or two and site see some really old historical sites. I'd take my hubby of 20 years. :D He's never been.
(Molly Wilsbacher 8:24pm June 1, 2011)

If I ever went to London, I have a dear friend that I would love to see. I would love to see his house, and finally meet his wife and children in person. He's been here to see me, and stayed at my place, with my Husband and me, and although our visit wasn't as long as I would have liked it to be, at least I was able to cook for him, and show him around a little. I'm not in the position to fly right now for health reasons, so if I won the contest, I would prefer to win an autographed copy of your book in exchange, if I could, or perhaps something could be worked out to compensate for the trip. Thanks so much!!
(Peggy Roberson 9:33pm June 1, 2011)

I'd be happy to send you an autographed copy of The Darkest Sin, Peggy. Pls send me your mailing address at [email protected]

Winning a trip to London would be unreal! It's the kind of thing that would
make me believe that maybe there *is* a fairy godmother for me out there, lol

If I got to go, I'd want to ride in the London Eye; it just seems so iconic to me
and I love a good view. And of course I'd want to see the ravens, crown jewels,
and beefeaters! So I'd go for a visit of the Tower of London :D
And then of course I'd have to see Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament,
Harrods, and Westminster Abbey. Hampton Court Palace also is a must, just to
see where King Henry lived, maybe even stand on the very same spot Anne
Boleyn did without knowing it. And last but not least, I would love to get to go
to the British Museum!! All that history and the magic of seeing artifacts that
peoples from hundreds of year ago used every day...that would be amazing.
(Bella Franco 9:38am June 2, 2011)

I just might take another canal boat cruise near Stratford-On-Avon and enjoy the beautifully kept gardens in postage stamp size yards.
