No, I don't wait for an author to finish an entire series. Maybe I just got used to doing this from a young age where I followed an author's works for about a decade. A bit saddened when the series actually ended. He just started self-publishing which looks like a new series of books.

I would have to agree that a menage would be a nightmare in reality specially if you expect a lasting relationship. Good thing there are books where you can live vicariously through characters who have a happy ever after.

I'm prone to tell the truth because lying just takes too much work if you want to get away with it. I've told white lies though if I view the fallout as trivial.

Character names aren't a big deal to me as long as I can pronounce it. It's great though when after reading a book that a name perfectly fits the character.
