Thanks so much for having me here today to give you a peek at my new release, HER WILD HERO, Book 3 in my action-packed X-OPS Series. You wouldn’t believe how difficult it was getting the hero and heroine together. Those two definitely didn’t make it easy for me. Which is why I thought it would be fun to catch up with them and ask why they had to be so dang difficult!

1. Yours was not an easy romance, if you could give one piece of advice to your past self, what would it be?

Declan: If I thought my past self would listen, and he probably wouldn’t, I’d say trust your heart and what it’s trying to tell you—even when your head is telling you something completely different. I almost lost out on a chance with Kendra because my head convinced me it was time to give up and move on. I was being all logical and crap, and love isn’t about that. Kendra: That’s an easy one. I’d tell myself not to be so focused on the forest that you forget to see the trees. Cliché, I know, but so true. I thought I knew exactly the type of guy I wanted, and almost completely missed the most amazing man that was right in front of me the whole time.

2. When did you know you loved Kendra?

Declan: This is probably going to sound crazy, but I think I loved Kendra the day I met her. Maybe it was because she knew I was a shifter and accepted me as I was. On top of that, she was funny, capable, confident, and just so damn beautiful. But while I might have fallen in love with her right away, it took me years to gather up the courage to tell her.

3. When did you know you loved Declan?

Kendra: Well, I guess the first time I really got it was in that little cave in Costa Rica. Circumstances came together and we were able to really talk honestly to each other, without one or the other of us getting dragged away for some reason. When our lips touched, and I felt that zing I’ve never felt with another man, I knew he was the one. Unlike Declan, it only took me a few days to tell him how I felt, though I can’t tell you how close we came to almost blowing our shot.

4. What was your first impression of each other? How does it compare to your feelings now?

Declan: Well, you already know I thought she was funny, capable, confident, and gorgeous. But I have to admit, I didn’t think she was much of the outdoor type. Once I saw her in action in the jungles of Costa Rica, though, I realized I had her all wrong. She can handle a weapon, she’s calm under pressure, and she never complains, no matter how bad or crazy the situation gets. It was a side of her I never knew existed, but it makes me love her even more. Kendra: When I first met him, I couldn’t help but notice how attractive he was. I mean, he’s a big, muscular hunk, so how could I not? But I’m sorry to say I immediately put him in the “friend category.” God, was I stupid! But he always seemed like this big, cuddly teddy bear, and I didn’t think that was what I wanted. Once I got him alone, I discovered just how wrong I’d been. Well, he’s still a teddy bear, but there’s a passion and edge to him that few people get to see—except me of course.
