In my newest release, TYCOON TAKEDOWN, Melanie Hanna is a single mother who heads to New York to find the man she slept with in college and tell him that he’s a father. The last thing she expects is to fall for the man her friend asked to watch over her. Her priority is her son, but she can’t resist Charles Dery when he sets his sights on her.

What do you get when you mix a feisty, Texas cowgirl with a darkly tormented, business tycoon? Laughter, tears and a mugging that goes viral. Charles may be used to being in charge, but he’s about to be taken down, Texan style.

Melanie realizes there are some things every cowgirl should bring when visiting New York City:

One: A belt strong enough to hog-tie purse snatchers.

Two: Contraceptives because there is something sexy about a man who knows how to wear a suit, and how to take it off.

Three: Tissues because leaving home is never easy and facing the past is even harder.

Four: A sense of adventure, especially when it comes to where and what to wax.

Five: A good dose of common sense, because men who are used to getting their way may start by making some suggestions that are best refused. However, if you don’t give up on them, they come around.

About TYCOON TAKEDOWN

Melanie Hanna has finally worked up the courage to travel to New York and tell an old flame that he’s the father of her young son. She’s done hiding and apologizing for her one impulsive night. When her best friend asks her brother to watch over Melanie, her emotional trip takes an unexpected and sizzling detour.

Charles Dery is at the top of his game, but all he can think about is bedding the woman he was asked to protect. When she’s almost killed, he takes what he’d been denying himself and discovers he’ll do anything to keep her—even break his own rules.

When it comes to love, two wrongs may just finally make a right.

About Ruth Cardello

Ruth Cardello was born the youngest of eleven children in a small city in northern Rhode Island. She lived in Boston, Paris, Orlando, and New York before coming full circle and moving back to Rhode Island, where she lives with her husband and three children. Before turning her attention to writing, Ruth was an educator for twenty years, eleven of which she spent as a kindergarten teacher. She is the author of eight previous novels, including BEDDING THE BILLIONAIRE, which was a New York Times and USA Today bestseller. TYCOON TAKEDOWN follows TAKEN, NOT SPURRED as the second book in the Lone Star Burn series.

Re: Ruth Cardello | A Country Girl Goes To The City

After reading your posting, I was drawn, like a magnet, to
your book!! It's been put on my TBR list, and I'm looking
forward to reading it this Spring. I don't know if it's due
to the fact that you put a cowgirl in it, or if it's the mix
of a cowgirl with the big city, but it sure sounds like a
great story line!! Congratulations on your latest book, and
I'm sure it's going to do very well!! The cover is cute,
too!!
