You know, I’ve always been a rebel. No really, I have. I mean, one time when I
was a Senior in high school, I totally left school at lunch without a pass and
went to the public library. I know, ballsy. I reveled in the heady excitement of
that for the rest of the school year.
Okay, so maybe “rebel” isn’t exactly the word we should use. I did used to play
Bon Jovi and Billy Idol really loudly on my boombox. Well, not loud enough for
the neighbors to hear. I didn’t want to drive anyone but my poor parents insane.
All right, so I’m not exactly a rebel, but I do like to do things differently. I
don’t want to cook the same things over and over again. I don’t want to listen
to the same music endlessly. I don’t want to read the same formula story
repeatedly. Now, wearing the same sweatpants year after year, I’m good with
that. You have to get them worked into that perfect fit.
Anyway, people will often ask me which sub-genre of Romance that I write. “Uh…”
my brain offers me somewhat nonsensical drivel. You kind of, sort of write
Fantasy Romance with a twist, or maybe Contemporary with very slight Paranormal
elements. “No!” I argue, but not verbally as that would probably make the asker
concerned for my mental well-being. My brain continues. “Really it’s Urban
Fantasy, and a few of the couples are New Adult.”
However, if I say all of this, the person asking me the question is more
confused after my reply than they were before. See, I’m the author you want if
you think you don’t like Fantasy and you’re sure you don’t like Paranormal, but
you’re looking for something new and different.
I wanted to write these sexy stories about some fantastic characters that had a
very slight twist. I don’t do vampires, zombies, creatures of any kind, and my
characters could live next door to you, and you would have no idea they were
different.
They can control the energy of the earth and of their own bodies. Think about
that for just a moment. They might be able to reheat your bath water with their
hands or charge your Kindle for you if it has a low battery, but they can also
access their lover’s erotic energy and that makes for some very sexy love
scenes. Ultimately, they’re all just like you and me. They have flaws, desires,
dislikes, and preferences. They’re sensual, desirous, and thirsty for justice,
and all of that plays out in The Gifted Realm.
They might just be that thing you’ve been looking for. Something new and
different but still devastatingly hot and sexy with a rip-roaring tale that they
want to share.
With the quick lock of their eyes on one another, the passion ignites. Their
bodies speak volumes that can never be shared. As long as Dan Vindico keeps
Fionna Styler between him and his bed sheets, she’ll be safe. If anyone finds
out about the two of them, she’ll be at the very top of every Interfeci hit
list. Keeping anyone from knowing that his world now rises and sets to the
rhythms of her body is all that matters.
The Realm prepares for a long anticipated trial, the birth of the new Crown
Governor’s baby, and the wedding of the century. Everything is going according
to plan until one night threatens to unravel every precaution and every
safeguard Dan has set to keep Fionna safe. If he doesn’t end the Interfeci soon,
he’s going to lose everything, including Fionna.
Dominic Wretchkinsides, head of the Interfeci criminal organization, goes
several steps too far, and Dan declares war. They meet in a heated battle where
the winner takes all and there are no holds barred. Could getting everything
he’s wanted for so long cost Dan Vindico everything he already has? Can he keep
Fionna safe or will everything he’s worked for be All but Lost?
About Jillian Neal
Jillian Neal is a Romance writer with a passion for passion who pens strong,
character driven novels, told from the male perspective. Her guys aren’t afraid
to let us inside their minds or inside their bedrooms. They’re hot on the trail
of a sinister criminal organization when they’re not burning up the bed sheets.
She’s a self-proclaimed ‘Southern girl with a sassy mouth.’ Her coffee addiction
is barely legal, and she’s most often running around with her hair and her pen
on fire! She's full of smarts, sass, and sizzle and that's a lot to get into
barely five feet of girl with her head always in the clouds.
