1 cup mango pulp (canned or fresh)
1 cup plain low-fat yogurt
Sugar to taste (canned mango is usually sweetened and may not need sugar)
Large pinch of salt
2-3 cups water.
Mix together all the ingredients except water until you have a smooth batter.
Keep adding water and mix till it reaches the consistency desired. Sweeten more
if necessary. Serve chilled, accompanied by hot samosa or pakoda (available in
ready-to-use frozen section in Indian grocery stores)or chips and salsa.
Lassi is a very refreshing and nutritious drink for the lazy, sultry afternoons
of summer. In India, people drink a variety of lassis to cool the stomach, since
yogurt counteracts acidity and regulates the digestive system.
