Linda Bilodeau | The Story Behind The Wine Seekers

I've always been a foodie, one of those souls who wonder the earth wondering what's for lunch? What's for dinner? As a young girl I would spend time in my mother's kitchen learning her secrets to good tasting food. I enjoyed many a meal with a large crowd of family. As a young mother, I felt I needed to make nutritious meals for my family and would go out of my way to find fresh produce, good cuts of meat and of course, a crowd a people to enjoy it all with. So it never came as a surprise that I would want to write a book that takes place around the best of food and wine.

On a trip through the Tuscan country side, I became enchanted with the simple country fair, and though she wasn't Italian, it reminded me of the simple things my mother taught me about food, One need not be extravagant with spices, sauces or expensive wines, stick to the basics. It doesn't take a master chef to put together a good dinner.

My characters in The Wine Seekers, love and laugh, they experience disaster, have to start over like so many of us do and through it all, they take time to enjoy what they know in their hearts to be the essence of life, a good meal and a glass of wine. My one wish, is that my readers who read The Wine Seekers will fall in love with my story while enjoying a good meal and a glass of wine.

What a sweet wish for your readers! I'll look for The Wine Seekers. If your book evokes good wine and Italy, I'm definitely going to read it)

Funny how so much of our life
revolves around food. Special meals
with family and friends. Those special
places you find when you are
traveling. We made a 250 mile detour
on a trip to go back to a really good
homemade ice cream parlor in Maine.
We found a wonderful winery in
central Tennessee. We can usually find
a reason once a year to head that way
and buy a case. We enjoy the trip and
have at least 12 good meals with good
wine, and even better company.
