We got a lot of April showers here in Central Pennsylvania, so I’m all about them bringing May flowers. I love the pops of flowers in the backyard as well as those I see as I drive through our town, as well as those I get to see every time I take a trip to another book signing!
So let’s talk cozy mysteries that are set at flower shops or feature settings and jobs with all those beautiful blooms that not only are pleasing to the eye and the nose, but also to those of us who love the chase and puzzles that are inherent to the cozy mystery genre.

I’m going to start with the wonderful MUMS AND MAYHEM: A Magic Garden Mystery by Amanda Flower – flowers by Flower? I’m here for it! I love the setting and the twists and turns in this third book in a series that I wish had continued. It came out several years ago but it was wonderful to read (and also re-read). I enjoyed the way Fiona Knox hops a plane and starts over again in book one and is growing in the other two books. Book 3 is my favorite though, so I highly recommend running (not walking) to plant yourself right into this short run series that will give you all the feels!

Next up is ROSES ARE DEAD, VIOLETS ARE BLUE: A Flower Shop Mystery by Kate Collins! This series is a blast and delivers every single time. This is a long-running series and I’ve found them all delightful! I love Abby and her husband being the sleuthing duo that never gives up. You will want to make sure you have time to not put this book down, so plan accordingly.

And last but certainly not least, I bring you THE SPELLBOUND BOUQUET: A Quillhaven Paranormal Cozy Mystery by Tessa Silver. I am a huge paranormal fan and so I adore when an author gets the right amount of world building paired with a wonderful mystery. Sprinkle in a romance and I am all in! I love that these differ slightly from your more traditional mystery in that they feature different couples as the sleuths and the twistiness fills me with glee!
So there you have it! A chance to get some fresh fiction in while you’re hopefully soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the nicer weather.
One last word for you: Bloom!
Misty Simon always wanted to be a storyteller - preferably behind a Muppet. Animal was number one, followed closely by Sherlock Hemlock. Since that dream didn’t come true, she began writing stories to share her world with readers, one laugh at a time.
Touching people’s hearts and funny bones are two of her favorite things, and she hopes everyone at least snickers in the right places when reading her books. She lives with her husband in Central Pennsylvania where she is hard at work on her next novel or three. She loves to hear from readers so drop her a line via email.
