For Black History Month, I thought I’d recommend some amazing romances by Black authors. There’s something for everyone in different subgenres and a mixture of well-known authors and hidden gems.
ZETA RODGERS NEEDS TO RELAX by Elana Moon
I’ve recommended this one before and I will again because I loved it so much.
After a night together that was as steamy as it was endearing, there was the most delightful spin on the surprise baby trope. The circumstances of their reuniting had me giggling with glee, and Ash’s handling of the situation and lovestruck ways had me sighing with bliss.
ETERNAL LIGHT – Hounds series, book 1 by Layla J. Omorose
Paranormal romance fans will enjoy this spicy, unconventional romance featuring Cerberus-shifters, strong women, and a messy Hades-Persephone subplot.
DOWN SOUTH BAYOU – The BR Bayou Series, Book 1 by Aricka Alexander
A fun Black Sapphic Romance with a fun and flirty friends to lovers dynamic!
MORE TO LOVE by Georgina Kiersten
A plus-size, MM Interracial Romance between a nerdy, handsome Black bookstore owner and a Korean former Olympic wrestler.
ALL THE PLEASURE – All The Ways Duo, book 1, by Kelly Violet
Interracial steamy contemporary romance that starts with a blind date and leads to lots of angst and spice. This book was originally a Radish sensation and has now been expanded for more romantic goodness!
MISFIT LOVE by Jade Jones
For the crime romance lovers, check out this steamy contemporary romance between a nightclub worker with a side hustle and an irresistible cartel boss.
I ACCIDENTALLY SUMMONED A DEMON BOYFRIEND – Accidents Happen series by Jessica Cage
A fun and sexy paranormal romance between a smoldering demon and the funny woman who summons him as a drunken joke after her friends tease her for being single too long.
NIGHTHAWK by Beverly Jenkins.
I can’t bring up Black Romance without naming the incredible Ms. Bev. Her Historical Black Romances are all fantastic including this swoonworthy western historical romance between a bounty hunter and the woman he takes prisoner for a crime she didn’t commit.
WAGER – The Jekh Saga, Book 5 by H.E. Trent
Sci-Fi romance lovers will love this series about a planet in which throuples are part of their culture. This one has a tantalizing angsty triangle between a schoolteacher, an ex-soldier, and a liberated space courtesan.
CLAIM THE DRAGON – The Legion Series, Book 2, by A.C. Arthur
An exciting Black paranormal romance between a sexy dragon shifter and a sultry thief with captivating world-building.
