1--What is the title of your latest release?
STRIKE AND BURN
2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
In a world where passion and danger collide, Honor Stone fights to reclaim her life after her sister’s murder pulls her into the orbit of Strike Madden, a dangerously seductive billionaire willing to risk everything to protect her—even if it means facing the darkness within them both.
3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
We both went to college in Pennsylvania and so setting it the fictional town of Shelton PA felt familiar to us both. It’s a little Easter egg.
4--Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?
Honor is a great hang, and we’d be thrilled to grab drinks with her anytime she’s in Los Angeles. We’d even come to Shelton. We’d also love to shop her store Grace & Honor.
5--What are three words that describe your protagonist?
Optimistic, tenacious, artistic
6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?
Collaborative writing invents its own hybrid style. When we re-read our own work, it always feels so surprising because Taylor Hutton really does have her own voice. We can never tell between us who wrote what. It’s like we not only created a whole narrative world, but a new separate authorial identity as well!
7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
Since we are a team of two, we wanted to create a thorough outline as a roadmap for us both. Then we hammered out a full draft, but we looped back through it regularly to catch up with what the other had written and to edit as we went. Once the draft was done, we created an extensive editorial punch list. Writing as a pair means that your process needs to be a bit more on the page, just so you both know what you are thinking about, and where you each are headed. We also continually left each other notes in the margins—sometimes editorial, sometimes encouragement, and sometimes just to make the other laugh.
8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
Adele: Cake. Julie: Cake at Adele’s house!
9--Describe your writing space/office!
When we write as Taylor Hutton, we are facing each other at the kitchen table, laptops up, matching coffee mugs in hand. (Adele’s has an A on it, Julie’s has a J.)
10--Who is an author you admire?
In spicy romance, we are both big Ana Huang fans. She knows how to keep readers turning the pages.
11--Is there a book that changed your life?
Reading Verity by Colleen Hoover inspired us to try our hand at romance and romantic suspense in particular.
12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.
All the good news for this book came to us on email and we, of course, celebrated with cake. We were thrilled to also get multiple offers. We’ve both been doing this a long time, but it was especially exciting and fun to have someone to share the experience with.
13--What’s your favorite genre to read?
Adele: I love a juicy, secret-spilling memoir. Julie: I love to escape into a fun enemies-to-lovers romance.
14--What’s your favorite movie?
Adele: When Harry Met Sally. Julie: Defending Your Life
15--What is your favorite season?
Adele: Winter because it’s harder to come by now that I live in LA. Julie: Fall! My brain will forever be on the academic calendar, so Fall always feels full of the promise of a new year.
16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
Adele: traveling. Julie: a low-key, take-in dinner with my family
17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
Adele: My own podcast—So, Mom—that I just launched with my mother is my new fave. Julie: I’ll second Adele on this one. I LOVE So, Mom. It’s cozy and comforting and so smart, and it feels like having coffee with the best people.
18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
Adele: carbs plus cheese. Julie: soup? Is soup a type of cuisine? Honestly, I love pretty much anything you can eat with a spoon.
19--What do you do when you have free time?
Adele: Blanket plus couch plus limited series. Julie: Blanket plus couch plus dog snuggles plus good book.
20--What can readers expect from you next?

Romance Suspense [Berkley, On Sale: January 28, 2025, Trade Paperback / e-Book , ISBN: 9780593817759 / eISBN: 9780593817766]
Taylor Hutton is the pseudonym of a pair of writer friends, one of whom has twice been a finalist for the National Book Award and the other who is a New York Times bestselling author and Edgar Award finalist. Between the two of them, they have written over forty books. When they are not passing their latest sexy thriller back and forth on Google Doc, they are browsing bookstores, sending each other ridiculous memes, walking their dogs Trudy and Potato around their Los Angeles neighborhood, and making their children cringe with their TikTok videos.
