1--What is the title of your latest release?
MARRYING THE ENEMY
2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
Romeo and Juliet without all the death
3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
I wanted to strand them on an island and had recently visited my sister in Australia, so I chose an unnamed island in the Whitsundays.
4--Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?
Absolutely!
5--What are three words that describe your protagonist?
She’s smart and funny and has great taste in clothes. My hero is rich, sexy, alpha and mad.
6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?
This happened in a different part of Australia from my book, but I ran across a fascinating article where orcas had once helped hunters by herding larger whales into shallow waters. I’ll spare you the details, but everyone ate well.
7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
Edit as I go.
8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
Old Dutch dill pickle potato chips
9--Describe your writing space/office!
For years I wrote in our finished attic, but in 2022, I converted our son’s bedroom into my office. It’s gorgeous! There’s a huge window with a peek-a-boo view of the lake. I have big white boards, calendars for this year and next, and a standing desk. There’s also a door onto a balcony where we often sit on warm days for happy hour.

10--Who is an author you admire?
So many. All my fellow Harlequin Presents authors for starters. They all make it look so easy. I love Talia Hibbert and recently started reading Emily Henry and Carly Fortune.
11--Is there a book that changed your life?
I recently read Four Thousand Weeks, which is the number of weeks in the average life span. That got me thinking about what I want to do with my remaining weeks.
12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.
Well, I’d been submitting stories for 25 years, so I was pretty amazed and thrilled and relieved! With that particular manuscript, I’d had a couple of rounds of revisions and the second ones had been very minor so when my editor asked if she could call, I had an inkling this was it, but I had had so many disappointments in the past, I didn’t want to believe it. Honestly, I’m still amazed that this is now my career. I’m so grateful to my editor(s) and all the readers who make this possible.
13--What’s your favorite genre to read?
Romance. Usually contemporary and I prefer a spicy read, but I’ll read nearly any type of romance.
14--What’s your favorite movie?
Pride and Prejudice (Colin Firth version.)
15--What is your favorite season?
Spring
16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
Maybe dinner out, but often it’s on whatever day is convenient. It’s not that I’m bothered by my age, I just don’t see it as a big deal, so I don’t really celebrate it.
17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
I’ve been listening to Smartless and I like the Quitcast for writers.
18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
Anything I don’t have to cook myself! I lean more to eating like a vegetarian, but otherwise I like pretty much anything.
19--What do you do when you have free time?
I love walking in nature. I’m not super ambitious so I don’t do challenging mountain hikes, but mid-level walks through parks are my happy place.
20--What can readers expect from you next?
The third book in my Raven’s Cove trilogy, Wanting a Family Man, releases Oct 1st and my next Harlequin, Husband for the Holidays, releases on the same day.
