WALK OF SHAME is my latest and it is just a good time in book form.
What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
Walk of Shame is a hot hockey RomCom that will have you giggling and fanning yourself as Astrid and Cal fall for each other despite their best attempts that this time will be the last time. Spoilers: It never is.
How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
So Harbor City is my fake New York and I absolutely love setting my books here because like the real New York, it has just about everything.
Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?
Absolutely! Astrid and I would kick ass at bingo night - and since I’m a coffee drinker instead of a Diet Coke addict like her we wouldn’t have any problem keeping our drinks straight.
What are three words that describe your hero?
Cal is a sweet and yet spicy cinnamon roll.
What’s something you learned while writing this book?
I definitely learned a lot about career ruining hockey injuries.
Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
A little of both—although I try not to kill the writing momentum by getting pulled into editing.
What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
I have an Oreo problem. I’m not sure if that counts as foodie but they are my favorite.
Describe your writing space/office!
Right now it is a total mess because I’m on deadline. There are boxes and dirty dishes and-wow I really need to clean this place up.
Who is an author you admire?
Oh there are so many! That is what’s wonderful about being a romance author is that you are surrounded by so many amazingly talented and incredibly smart writers. It’s impossible to pick just one!
Is there a book that changed your life?
All of them. That’s what so cool about books, you take away something from each one of them (sometimes it’s something good and sometimes its something bad but there’s always something).
Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)
Oh man. I was so excited and scared and happy when I got that email that my first book had been accepted for publication. There was definitely happy squeals and a celebratory beer involved!
What’s your favorite genre to read?
Romance an mystery/thrillers are always running neck and neck on my TBR.
What’s your favorite movie?
I don’t really have a favorite one, but the latest one that I really liked was Poor Things. It is definitely not for everyone but I just loved it.
What is your favorite season?
Summer for sure. I want 85 degrees and sunshine.
How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
My favorite kind of birthday is when I get to take the day off, curl up on the couch, and read.
What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
The Brothers Sun is AMAZING! Highly recommend!
What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
Mexican for sure. Some days just require an enchilada.
What do you do when you have free time?
Well, I’m a giant dork so I love to do puzzles. I also read and go to the movies and hang out with the family.
