Heather Graham | Supernatural Meets Criminal Minds - in Europe!

YouTubetwitterfacebook

1--What is the title of your latest release?

WHISPERS AT DUSK, Blackbird trio, part of the Krewe of Hunters series

2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?

Supernatural meets Criminal Minds - in Europe!

3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?

Hm, I love so many places I’ve been lucky enough in my life to see. Also, my mom was born in Ireland and dad was a Scot and my daughter-in-law still has relatives in Norway – all places I love.

4--Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?

Definitely. I’d be fascinated.

5--What are three words that describe your protagonist?

Strong, determined, compassionate.

6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?

That police forces are different around the world!

7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?

Yes and no. LOL, some, and then a look-over at the end.

8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?

Sushi

9--Describe your writing space/office!

Wherever I happen to be! Having five children made me learn to live life and work a little like a Dr. Seuss book - I can write in a car, going far, in a plane, riding a train.

10--Who is an author you admire?

Lee Child. Incredibly well-known, and still one of the kindest people in the world.

11--Is there a book that changed your life?

A Tale of Two Cities - still cry when I reread it!

12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.

I’m not sure I believed it at first! I’d sold a short horror story, but then a book, and I hoped that no one was pulling my leg!

13--What’s your favorite genre to read?

Any and all, but, hm, suspense, action, adventure - Poe!

14--What’s your favorite movie?

Hm . . . too many to choose from! I love being entertained. I can name three favorite plays quickly - Toxic Avenger, Wicked, and Silence

15--What is your favorite season?

Summer! Lots of swimming.

16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?

Depends on what’s going on during the year.  I do enjoy a good Disney trip! Five kids - we had year passes as the kids were growing up and I still love the magic. Started out going over as a Theater Major at USF and loved the talent and imagination.

17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?

I’ve recently been binging on SWAT. I think they’ve done an incredible job balancing characters and plots and the cast seems to have an amazing chemistry.

18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?

Hm. I’m not sure I have one! Love Italian, sushi, tuna, salmon . . . hm.

19--What do you do when you have free time?

I love the water. Once upon a time I was a lifeguard and red cross instructor and I’m a certified diver. Water always makes me happy!

20--What can readers expect from you next?

The next two book in the series, Secrets in the Dark and Cursed at Dawn, come out in July and August. And, thanks! Next year in Spring, the last in the Four Horsemen series, The Reaper Follows, will be out.

WHISPERS AT DUSK by Heather Graham

Blackbird Trilogy #1

Whispers at Dusk

When darkness falls, there’s nowhere to hide.

Four bodies have been discovered along Europe’s riverbanks, placed with care—and completely drained of blood. Pinpricks on their throats indicate a slender murder weapon, but DNA found in the wounds suggests something far more sinister. Tasked with investigating, the FBI recruits Agents Della Hamilton and Mason Carter to Blackbird, an international offshoot of the Krewe of Hunters. If you want to catch a vampire killer, you need agents who can speak with the dead.

The pair travel to Norway, where the shadowy forests of Lillehammer reveal a gruesome scene. The killer is thirsty for more victims, and the bloodless trail soon leads Della and Mason to a group that believes drinking blood is the key to immortality. To catch the culprit of such an intimate crime, the agents will have to get close. Mason’s already lost one partner; he’s not ready to risk Della as bait. But sometimes justice requires a sacrifice…
